St Tropez Self Tan

Advantages: Great colour and very even colour
Disadvantages: Takes time and alot of effort

..., and in my opinion looks a really natural colour. It?s great because if you want a really deep tan you can build it up by applying it on consecutive days but I have always found it to look dark after just one day. It is relatively un messy to use because its so thick it doesn?t drip on the floor like sprays can but you have to wash you sheets every time you use it and you do feel really sticky all evening with it on. Trust me you won?t be popping out anywhere once you?ve put it on, you will not want to be seen. It is relatively good value for money, depending on how much you use it. Fake tan is really high maintenance so be prepared to spend hours exfoliating and moisturising. I have found the spray better for me but I think its worth ago if your interested in using it and you like to go really brown. Also it?s great if you usually use sun...

Piz buin spray tan

...I brought this product as it was on offer in a suermarket so thought i would give it a go....found that the instructions were very clear and helpful so after showering as directed i sprayed the tan evenly all over and allowed it to dry...found that within the hour it had taken effect and was tanning my body eveny and wthout any streaks...was very pleased as over the night the tanning had further increased and left me with a really radiant glow...made me feel confident and sexy every girls dreams!!! When leaveing it to wear off it did take time to come off and wore off quicker in some areas compared to others...i found using body scrubs were helpful and effectively removed it from my skin hassle free...

Advantages: Bottle last a long time
Disadvantages: Tan can wash off very easily

...When using this product you had to start in stages by doing a small section at a time. I found it was easier starting with the legs and spraying the product onto my leg then using an old sponge to spread it around as this product stains your hands terribly. It gave you a very good overall tan, although you needed to be sure you had covered all areas. I thought I had covered my feet an ankles well until the product had completely dried and I realised I had patches. I feel this is a good tanning product and the tan is very natural, however it washes off very easily and rubs of when near clothing. The bottle lasts a long time but dont quite feel it is worth the money as there is better products out there which are less hassle....

...After using tonnes of high-street fake tans I was very apprehensive about trying Fake Bake but decided to give it a go. The first time I purchased Fake Bake was from www.lookfantastic.co.uk and was in a set which included Fake Bake original lotion, body scrub and body oil and I was left with not much change from £50.00!! I thought it must be something special at that sort of price. I followed the instructions that came with it and started off by using the body polish all-over in the shower. The best self tan around? I beg to disagree!

Advantages: Easy to see where you're applying it, quick drying.
Disadvantages: Obvious FAKE tan, messy application, too expensive.

...I bought St Tropez Self Tan Lotion, after reading many reviews swearing that it was the best self tan product they had ever used. I was excited that finally, I might be able to have a natural, flawless tan instead of a patchy orange disappointment. St Tropez Self Tan Lotion turned out to produce the latter result. I shaved my legs the day before, exfoliated in the morning (especially my knees, wrists, hands, ankles, feet), moisturised about 3 hours before, and then applied the product using gloves and mixing with a small amount of moisturiser around my ankles, knees, feet, elbows, wrists, hands. It took a long time to apply, because even though I could see where I was putting it, the self tan didn't seem to want to stay on, I didn't even rub it in, but it started clumping together and then drying leaving some of that area white...

Smear Tan

Disadvantages: Smeared, badly designed, crap and generally disastrous

...on the bottle, just the words "Self Tan Spray" in ten languages. But then you would know that having bought the stuff wouldn't you? Because it comes in a smooth, silvery white box with the same written across it. The box collapses open into a flat sheet with the instructions for use printed on the inside- very useful. Yes, of course I see myself keeping a crappy bit of card alongside the bottle on the bathroom shelf. Oh well, at least the instructions are straightforward, and not exactly difficult to remember. The contents are 125ml, enough for several legs only applications (my arms tan!) and a few full body. The price is £7.99, which is fairly average for a self tan, although cheaper are to be found- my Soltan was the same price, but for 25ml more product.
