...easier when the AMD X2 prices come down in the future, if you are planning to upgrade. Although the FSB and cache aren't amazing, it wouldn't really be a cheap processor if they were, so I can't really complain about that. If you're looking for a cheap, reliable CPU. Wether you're on a budget, or want something until the X2 prices come down, a Sempron is a recommended buy....

AMD Sempron 2500

Advantages: cheap, reliable, clockable
Disadvantages: stlii quite slow

...General I have had my processor for about 8 months now and it has never given me any problems. It takes quite a lot of stick from me and handles it no problem. It requires a socket A motherboard and will run at a fsb (front side bus) speed of 333Mhz along with compatible DDR memory (i.e. pc2700) Performance This will run at approx 1.75Ghz at a bus speed of 166Mhz (333Mhz) and has an operating temperature of up to 90 degrees celsius. I am running windows xp pro and my computer is also the centre point of a wireless home network so it is always on and being used. The use this pc gets and the work it has to do I would say is above average for a home pc, and again it handles it perfectly. I have a habbit of overclocking my systems (make them faster than they should be), and mine is currently running at 1.91Ghz with the bus speed...

Advantages: VERY HIGH SPEED IN PROCESSING

Why I would use an AMD sepron over A pentuim 4

Advantages: Good value for money, Can take a lot of stress, doesn't warm us as much as other processors
Disadvantages: Not a very high Clock speed

Since I bought the Sempron, my computer core temperature has not reached over 50 degrees Celsius. This is good because it keeps it good and stable. The Pentium 4 which I used to use would become unstable because it would over heat (by the way, I have only had to replace the mother board as well, all my cooling equipment has stayed the same). The installation of the Sempron is about the same as every other processor in the world, it helps to know what you are doing, or get a professional to do it for you.
