Sennheiser CX300 - a great upgrade earphone

Advantages: Great sound clarity, very comfortable
Disadvantages: Higher frequencies not as refined as other earphones

It comes as no surprise, mainly because it has been said many times before, that the earphones bundled with the iPod, or any MP3 player, are not brilliant. The iPod earphones are better then most, but for a small investment you can get a lot more music for your money. Sennheiser are well known for their high quality offerings, but this needn't break the bank. Their CX300 earphones weigh in at under £20 and are available in either black, white or silver. Sennheiser CX 300

Advantages: Sound quality, bass, ability to block out background noise
Disadvantages: Very flimsy for the price and no case included

...I bought these roughly a year ago and they only lasted a few months. The sound quality is very, very good. Having been stuck using the basic iPod earphones prior to these, the CX 300 were a refreshing change. The bass on them is certainly more than adequate. Although some in-ear headphones don't block out background noise very well you won't have that problem with these. As long as you have the correct sized cover on the headphones the background noise will be blocked out completely meaning you can have your mp3 player on below half max volume and hear the music very clearly. Prior to these I'd never used in-ear headphones before and was somewhat concerned as to whether they'd be to hard and rough on my ear. The Sennheiser however are very soft, not too large and quite easy to use. So, why didn't they last me very long? The wire...

Advantages: Noise cancelling, good quality sound, deep bass,
Disadvantages: Would be better if cord entered from end of earpiece.

...I did a lot of research before plumping for the CX300's and I have not been disappointed with my choice. The sound quality is excellent both at the high and low ends, and I have not heard such a deep bass from such tiny headphones before in my life. You need to push the CX300's to almost painful listening limits to get any audible distortion from them and on the whole they reproduce a good quality sound. I have found that you need to use a bit of trial and error get them sealed in your ears into the best position for a quality sound. They need a little twisting and turning for you to get that deep bass in all its glory. One gripe that I have is the cord entry position. It may just be the odd shape of my ears that are the problem, but I have found that it would be better if the cord entered from the end rather from the side. These...

Advantages: Nice look, decent sound quality.
Disadvantages: Not very comfortable.

...On headphones there's only really one way to review them, and that's with the following categories: Sound Quality: The quality of these was reasonable and stayed at the same quality even at high volumes, pretty good though not amazing considering the price. The Feel: They felt like standard headphones, well made, but not expensive feeling in any way. Comfort: I'm not crazy about the ear shape of these. ...I'd just recently bought a new mp3 player and after shelling out quite a lot of money for it, I didn't want to be let down to poor sound quality of the packaged headphones. After doing some research online, I decided to get a pair of Sennheiser CX300's. I have to say they are fantastic. They come with 3 sets of earbuds in different sizes, experiment and find out which are most comfortable in your ears. They are very easy to wear- I forget I'm wearing them half the time! And the sound....well the sound is amazing. I can hear tracks on my mp3 player far more clearly and defined. They cancel out a lot of backround noise too- the early morning commutes on a packed bus have never been so peaceful. All in all I love them. Definately worth the £20 or so price tag. Excellent alternative to standard headphones

Advantages: Very comfortable, sound great, excellent value for money.
Disadvantages: The in-ear style may put some people off. Not suitable for vigorous exercise.

Best Earphones on the market

Advantages: Great sound - High Durability - Low price

The Best Headphones At Present.

Advantages: Comfort, Stylish, Loud.

...The CX 300 offers everything a listener wants. Comfort and quality. Although a bit pricey compared to other headphones the in ear Sennheiser offers a great music expierence which can only be heard from this head phone. The length of the wires are perfect, not too long and not too short. Also the in ear headphones allow a greater bass to pump through your ears and gives your ears exictement. The comfort of the Sennheiser are amazing and are so soft. The CX 300 also come with 3 diffrent ear buds to suit your ears perfectly. Excellent Quality Headphones

Advantages: Good Bass, Solid Sound

These headphones have excellent bass and also are really good on the tube as they do not blare out music and only keep it where it is necessary. My first earbud headphones

Advantages: Noise cancelling, very clear, great base, great volumes available, comfort
Disadvantages: Short lead

...blobs of plastic into my head. What a surprise though. Light, comfortable, air tight (!), and quality of sound to die for. Can't think of a reason to get a more expensive pair. The Sennheiser cx300 fit the bill perfectly. I tried all 3 sizes of buds and after much tooing and froing went for the middle ones and have had them in for up to a 4 hour stretch with no discomfort during or after. In fact they're so light and comfortable you DO forget you've got them in (got up a few times only to be brought crashing back down to my desk). I did have to play about with the equaliser settings a bit on my different music players: - AlSong and RealPlayer from the PC - 2 x MP3/4 players - Phone and decided on different settings for each (shows how "common" a setting such as "rock", "live" or "pop" isn't).
