Sennheiser HD-25's: Ideal for Home or Pro DJ
Advantages: Comfort, Quality, Availability of spares.
Disadvantages: Cord a bit short.
...Needing a new pair of headphones, my previous pair being stood on and smashed by a drunken me, I searched on-line and in the shops and decided upon the Sennheiser HD25?s. They were certainly not the cheapest on offer, at the top end of my budget coming in at just under £125 from Superfi about 6 months ago. (I have seen them online now for £99 at Djstore.co.uk)
I am not a DJ, nor do I profess to be, but I selected these since they appear very hard wearing, and offer exceptional hi-fi sound quality with comfort.
Upon removal from the box, I was delighted with the overall professional build quality; ?made in Ireland? was silk-screened on the headband, I would have thought they would have been made in Deutschland!
Every part of the headphones appears interchangeable, drive units, pads, cable and headband, certain on-line stores can...

Sennheiser HD 25 SP Headphones
Advantages: Superior Sound at any level
Disadvantages: Cable a bit too short; could be a little more comfortable
...I own a pair of Sennheiser headphone that a mate of mine bought off ebay three years ago and they are just amazing. The sound quality is second to none and especially when I'm listening to the latest DVD releases. Just check the bass on these things; it's just as though I'm in the cinema when played on my portable DVD player and the sound is just deafening with no distortion from mid range to high no matter how hard you push them.
Build quality is not flashy, but is durable and small and near impossible to break; just the cable is a bit short but you can get a cable extension lead to fit. IV'e tested these againgst other headphones and they come out tops and for the price, you would have to pay a lot, lot more. Highly recommended...

Sennheiser HD 595 - What a product!
Advantages: Sound quality
Disadvantages: Style
...There is something that puts you right off your cup of tea when you think of spending more than £60 on a pair of headphones!! I reviewed many quality brands, ranging from Sennheiser, Sony, Bose, Panasonic, Beyer, Grado, B&O (apoligize in boring u... believe me i can!!) All i wanted was a pair that sounded great, and looked halfway stylish. After Many weeks i decided - Sennheiser HD595. Since then and after reassuring myself of spending that money, and listening to the quality and feeling them...im a REALLY happy bunny!!
Bargain hunting!-------
I searched ALL over for the best price, eventually got it down, popular comparison shopping search sites did it!! You may well find well know retailers to be more expensive with these.
Packaging--------
The cardboard box it came in, was so well built that a Jewson's delivery lorry could...

Sennheiser HD 20. Value for money.
Advantages: Great sound, durable, cheap.
Disadvantages: Lacks the range that some higher end headphones can provide. Not always loud enough.
...Great pair of headphones if your on a budget. Sennheiser are known for their quality built headphones and these are no exception.
I originall bought them to plug into my amp and listen to my electric guitar "quietly". They performed pretty well at this and handled the low basses without distorting. The only slight downside is that they weren't very loud. I'm not one for really loud headphones, but when these reach a certain threshold of volume they start to distort a bit. Under most circumstances this is fine, but sometimes I find myself needing a touch more volume out of these.
I also use them now for listening to music and playing games on my PC. The headphones sound absolutely great for both music and gaming and the sound quality is really crisp.
The only difference you'l notice between these and an expensive pair...

Sennheiser HD 555
Advantages: plays well and has a 2 year warranty
Disadvantages: maybe uncomfortable to some users
...Three months ago when i was looking for a better headsets for my Sony portable CD player, i was doing a lot of research on the internet until i came across the Sennheiser HD 555 which moved me and i decided to make a try with it. This headphones which were not so cheap could provide me exactly with the sound quality i was dreaming for a longtime. This headphone is punchy in the bottom-end and slightly rolled-off extensions in the uppermost highs. You can use it basically with any MP3 play, iPods, computers and portable CD players and its light weight and has a 8.5 oz. It has this design that makes it fits well in the ears and gives you a lot more of comfort and better sound quality. Its treble, bass, vocal you hear from the music that comes out of it is perfect that you feel you are present in the studio for the production of the music...

ok, i admit i'm a sennheiser fan...
Advantages: comfortable, excellent frequency response, sound amazing!
Disadvantages: cable only one metre long - but it is solid steel!
...But don't let my apparent bias turn you off. I dj, so when i listen to music or am cueing up a tune, i want a representation of the sounds that is real. That's exactly what the HD25s do for you. The drivers in these babies accent the bass, mid and treble alike, so well that make whatever you're listening to sound so crystal clear that you will never want to take them off again. They are very comfy to wear, with the ear cups and the split head band you could keep them on all night if you have to and not feel bad/get sweaty ears. Everything on these is detachable and replaceable so any wear and tear need not mean the end of your favourite cans. Have had mine for three years of near constant use and the pading round the ear cups has torn a little, but know i can replace them for around 16GBP. The cable isn't one of those nasty coily things...

The DJ's Best Friend
Advantages: Loud, clear, isolate brilliantly, light, comfy, user replaceable parts.
Disadvantages: Expensive, not as good looking as some headphones (as if it matters).
...Put simply, the Sennheiser HD25's are the best DJ headphones ever made. Forget Sony's flash but flimsy MDR700's, Pioneer's HD1000's, Ministry/Ixos' 1001's or the Technics 1200 range, Sennheiser have crafted the ideal tool for the DJ, wherever he or she might be playing.
This becomes apparent the instant you try a pair of HD25's. Unbelievably light, at just 140g, they fit any head like a glove, and the cups rest nicely on the ears, although not covering them like some larger models. The headband, which is splitable (is there such a word?) can be adjusted to fit as you want, and allows for every common style of monitoring, be it single or double eared. One of the cups also rotates to allow single-sided monitoring/shoulder resting.
The single-sided cable on the Senns is not too long, but long enough to allow freedom of movement around...

HD437
Advantages: Comfortable
Disadvantages: Cheap feel
...I have owned and tried various types of Sennheiser headphones, mostly for djing purposes but I also wanted a fairly cheap pair I could use to listen to music at home or to use with my ipod so I decided to cheack out some of the pairs that weighed in at around the £20-£30 mark.
The Sennheiser HD 437 model was one of the first pairs I tried as I thought they looked pretty good. Surely they'd make me look even more stylish if I wrapped them around my head?
These are very comfortable headphones and I seriously doubt that they would cause any discomfort if they were to be worn for a long period of time. The earphone cups fit nicely over my ears and block out some background noise (always useful).
The clarity of the music was very good but I felt that, at times, the bass could be slightly overpowering. After turning the bass settings down...

Can't complain with Sennheiser
Advantages: Clear excellent bass sound. Well fitted.
Disadvantages: None
...I've been shopping around ages for a comfy headphone which can deliver excellent quality bass sound for a cheap, cheap price and finally at last, I found it!!!
After I received the Sennheiser HD 228 headphone from Amazon for only £30.99 including delivery, I took my time opening it. My first impression was 'wow, cool, it's smaller than I expected which is good, and you can twist the two ends of the headphone so it can be flat pack too. Then I plug the headphone into my portable CD player, listen to one of my best tracks and I was hooked. The sound was clear, the bass (described on the package as 'Explosive Bass', 'Stereo sound with outstanding bass performance') and I couldn't agree more. The soft padding was so comfortable, the headphone fit snugly over my head and ears which block out any outside noise perfectly. My 11 years old...
