...On the one hand, market research survey sites can be much of a 'muchness', the basic premise being that you complete on-line surveys and amass some kind of reward, however slowly. However, the devil is in the detail; just how long and tedious are these surveys, and just how much (or little) do you get paid for doing them? We need look no further than Ciao's own recent offerings to see what the bottom end of these rewards can be. 10p for 30 minutes? I think not, and what's so magical about 51p? I'm guessing that it's a rounder number of Eurocents. One survey site that does pay markedly more than this is Valued Opinions. 25p is the ABSOLUTE minimum I've ever been paid, and then for relatively short 'text poll' surveys (e.g. if there was a change of government tomorrow, how would you vote?), a greater majority of the rewards being...

Satellite System

Advantages: High performance, good reliability

...I've just started university (well, I'm coming up to the end of my second term) and so when I was buying the things I needed, I thought it would be handy to have a laptop to take to lectures, especially seeing as my desktop PC is as old as the universe and that would allow my laptop to double up as a home PC. Now I know a fair bit about computers, so I'm not going to end up being sold a rubbish system. It also means that I have a very specific set of requirements. Having weighed up the options available to me, I eventually went for the Toshiba Satellite P30-133. LOOKS The Satellite largely looks the same as any other laptop, the difference being the colour on the cover. The whole top is red and I think that's the colour you have to have (although I could be wrong - obviously I haven't been to every shop in the world that retails...

The Ideal Laptop???

Advantages: Processor Speed, Competitve Spec to a PC & Style
Disadvantages: Battery Life, Sound quality & is prone to overheat

...The Toshiba Satellite P30-133 has a fast processor speed considering it is not designed for serious gamers. The 3.33 GHz Pentium 4 out powers the typical Celerons 1.3GHz, which is normally found in most modern laptops. But does the Satellite P30-133 suffer without the laptop designed Intel Celeron processor. Personally I wouldn't say so. The Increased speed allows the computer to run easily with more than one program open, and shortens loading times. The Trusted Pentium 4 processor seems to relish being in a laptop rather than a desktop. The space on the Hard Disk is quite considerable as well, with a capacity of 80GB. The Satellite P30-133 has a warehouse worth of space, which can be used for storing vast quantities of games or photographs. 512 MB of ram is generally sufficient, though upgrades are not expensive...
