...I recently bought one of these cables to connect my hard drive (also WD – Western Digital) to my motherboard. I had never used SATA before and was only familiar with IDE cables – the annoying thick ones that are a pain to connect. Unlike IDE cables, SATA leads can only be plugged in one way at both ends. This cable holds the power connection stable too. This cable can only really be used on Western Digital hard drives, but they are a leading manufacture and highly recommended. Both WD Raptor and WD Caviar SE Serial ATA drives use this unique connection, but there are also other SecureConnect compatible hard drives out there. The main reason you would buy this rather than any old SATA cable is because of its SecureConnect design which holds it in place nice and tight. Serial Mom- Sick Laughs.

Advantages: The best of American comedy.
Disadvantages: Might not appeal to all senses of humour.

...'Serial Mom' is a great comedy and a thoroughly entertaining film, exploiting to the full the talents of Kathleen Turner. She delivers a highly fun and amusing performance, from the start presenting the viewer with the image of a unique and humorous character. The film is set in 1990s America with an apparently perfect household, ran by an apparently perfect housewife. However, this illusion is soon shattered and a somewhat more sinister appearance becomes apparent- that of Mrs. Beverley Sutphin and her morbid behaviour. Her murderous exploits are not sick, but funny, so this film is not one for those with a humour based on light-hearted themes. She lives a dual life with a split personality and psychopathic tendencies- her constant and extreme changes from pleasant, loving lady to crazy killer adds to the entertainment value...

ATA - I SAY NAY!

...We flew from Gatwick to Orlando on ATA in October 2000. Although the flights were ok the planes that we flew on where outdates and uncomfortable. To start with the planes were so old that they needed to refuel in Canada. The refuelling process requires all passengers to disembark (down steps into the cold Canadian weather) for safety purposes and then wait in a horrible terminal building for 45 minutes before getting back onto the same plane to carry on the journey. We left all of our belongings on the plan. This is not too bad if done during the day – however, the return flight also requires that every passenger leave the plane. That’s no fun with three kids at one in the morning in the middle of October. Britain's Bloodiest Serial Killers

Advantages: Incredible insight into serial killers
Disadvantages: Freaked me out a bit!

...Now, without sounding too much of a "freak" I have a secret passion for serial killers, British or otherwise, it amazes me how someones mind can work in justifying these terrible crimes. This DVD, which I bought myself a little while ago, is priced at approx. £13, and if you are into crimes, especially murders, I would say you would not regret paying it to watch this. Let's start with the packaging, with a title like "Britain's Bloodiest Serial Killers," you would expect it to be a bit graphic. The front of the DVD box also reflects that, being covered in blood, with a gun, syring, rope and a meat cleaver. Now, personally, I prefer a bit of blood, the more gruesome, the better! ...American Trans Airlines (ATA) is one of the most budget of all the budget airlines in the USA. When my aunt went to Boston's Logan Airport to pick me up, she couldn't find ATA's monitors listing flight information... because they DON’T HAVE ANY in Logan! ATA also claims that their website has up-to-date flight info, but it doesn't. The baggage carousel was not labelled either, so we had to wander around a bit to figure out where my bag was going to be spit out. However, I shouldn't really complain too much since I arrived safely on four ATA flights, without having to shell out too much dough and with my luggage intact. ...I flew wit ATA from Aldergrove (NI) to Florida (USA) via Gander (Newfoundland)several years ago. I can now tell you what colour the ceiling is at Gander. The flight was a charter like most ATA flights. Also, like most ATA flights, it was late. Very Late! On the outward journey, it left several hours late. It was at Gander for an extra hour. Coming,. back it was one hour late leaving Florida. Nine hours late leaving Gander. Fortunately, we all got a very cold piece of toast each. The plane was old yet still managed to go the whole summer without being more than one and a half days late. The next week it was 36 hours late leaving Belfast. 'A modern day Jack the Ripper'?

Advantages: Fascinating insight into the case against the killer
Disadvantages: Not enough insight into the reasons behind the crime spree

.... Nevertheless, this is a shocking story. My knowledge of serial killers, for what it is, has always lead me to believe that there are links between crimes. They may not always be obvious, but they are there all the same. In this case, Knowles' acts of violence seem totally random and unprovoked, which is incredibly frightening - I think everyone likes to think that there is a reason behind someone's violent behaviour. Unfortunately, this is also the downfall of the documentary, because there seems to be no rhyme nor reason for his actions and only a superficial explanation is attempted. I suspect that this is because no-one really knows the workings of Knowles' mind, but I would have liked a little more insight into his past at least. As it is, it is a step by step explanation of how the case was investigated, and, while interesting, I'm not sure...

The Worst Airline Ever..

...Worst Airlines Ever.... As the clerk at the airport in Las Vegas stated when our luggage from Maui had not come out on the turnabout in over an hour, What airline? ATA, oh there you go, you get what you pay for..with them. That is basically nothing. When we arrived at Vegas airport to leave for our Maui, Hawaii trip we found no clerks at the ATA counter and a sign that said they would arrive in 2 1/2 hours. All the other counters were busy with passengers getting their tickets. This was after a high alert was given on the news to arrive early. When they did arrive, I was first in line. A flight from Honolulu had arrived and it had been delayed 5 hours and they were all taken before me by 3 clerks. Not one clerk to help the others who were trying to leave for Hawaii. Life of a serial killer

Advantages: well acted
Disadvantages: I thought the plotline was flat

...Usually the only films I watch are girly romances or comedies, however a few nights ago when Monster was shown on TV I found myself watching it. The film is based on the true story of Aileen Wuornos, America's first female serial killer. I knew a bit about her story before watching the movie, having seen a documentary about her a few years back. ~The Plot~ Aileen (Charlize Theron) became a prostitute at the age of 13 after a difficult upbringing. She also had a baby at this age, giving it up for adoption after its birth. She had no family around her, and really brought herself up.
