Review of Friends - Series 5 - Complete (Box Set) (DVD)

  Surviving Survivor Series...

Advantages: There were a couple of excellent, well paced matches, some good performances
Disadvantages: Many matches not given enough time to grow, some sucky non-wrestlers stealing spotlight

...of the boys pretended they were the next Stone Cold Steve Austin, stunning their ?opponents? into oblivion or Triple H, crotch chopping their way through obscenities to fit in with one of the companies premier factions, D Generation X. Both Austin and Triple H are key figures on the pay per view Survivor Series 2003; for one of the men, they?d be fighting for their Championship, the other fighting for their career. A little gem of a series

Advantages: great story lines, good characters, very funny
Disadvantages: pilot episode not good - get passed that and its great!

...Following on from doing a review of two Judgment Day pay-per-views, Survivor Series becomes the second WWE PPV to get the two event treatment. Survivor Series 2005 is a year on from the original Survivor Series I reviewed, but how badly will the reputation of an event with such a history be tarnished this November? With so many wrestlers WWE now has a brand split where wrestlers either wrestle on RAW or SmackDown! and a feud between the two brands was brewing at this point, leading to a match between the two brands to headline this event. Kane, Carlito, Shawn Michaels, Big Show and Chris Masters made up Team RAW. Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley, Batista, Rey Mysterio and JBL (Bradshaw) would make up Team SmackDown! Although Survivor Series matches are traditionally 4 on 4, in this case it would be 5 on 5, I'm not sure what sparked...

Gavin & Stacey - Series 1

Advantages: A strong British sitcom
Disadvantages: Still has it's odd critic

...Name a decent British sitcom from the last 5 years....now name one that isn't written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant....or David Mitchell and Robert Webb...all you're left with (in my opinion) is a little known sitcom written by Ruth Jones and James Corden that has escalated from a bit-part in the schedule of BBC Three to one of the most loved comedies of recent years - Gavin & Stacey. The story goes of two people who have never met, Gavin (Matthew Horne) and Stacey (Joanna Page), but eventually decide to do so after months of chatting to one another over the phone. Upon meeting in the middle of Leicester Square along with their best mates, Smithy (played by Corden) and Nessa (Jones), they hit it off and decide it was one of the best decisions they ever made. ...On the Buses is a classic situational comedy that ran for seven series between the years of 1969 and 1973. Despite its age it simply has to be my favourite ever comedy and is something I can watch over and over again. On the Buses follows the day-to-day antics of lecherous lay-about Stan Butler, a bus driver at the local depot, and his equally lazy and lecherous best friend and conductor Jack Harper. An Awesome Fourth Series

Advantages: Extremely entertaining all the way through

...Rarely if ever is Still Game a let down, so you can be fairly sure of being happy with your purchase which ever series you buy. Series 4 is up there with Series 2 and 3 as the best of the lot though. Whilst all of the episodes are chuckleworthy, there are moments on the episodes "Ring", "Hatch" and "Dial-A-Bus" which are so funny, it's hard to stop laughing. Whether they are marrying younger women or childhood sweethearts, the older generation of Craiglang are bound to bring a smile to your face. There's even rumours abound about Jack and Victor's sexuality after Iza gets the wrong idea when they innocently start spending more time together due to Victor having Sky Digital. ...Red Dwarf series 6. This wonderfully funny and fantastically written show ran for eight series and almost had a film made, sadly not to be. Starring; Craig Charles - Dave Lister Arnold J Rimmer - Chris Barrie Cat - Danny John-Jules Kryten - Robert Llewellyn Holy was played by two people, Norman Lovett and later Hattie Hayridge. Although Norman did return later in the series. Kristine Kochanski was also played by two people Clare Grogan and then later by Chloë Annett. Kryten was initially played by David Ross but thankfully he did not stay in the role.
