...Sevilla... the word is almost as beautiful as the city itself. I have been fortunate enough to experience quite a few places across the globe, and I could count on the fingers of one hand (and I could probably afford to be missing a few fingers) the number of places that have left more of an impression on me than Sevilla. I visited in the summer before I came to university, on an itinerary that took in the usual tourist hotspots in Andalucia; Granada, Cordoba, Cadiz, and so on. The whole atmosphere was one that I found particularly intoxicating; you are constantly immersed in grand architecture, of which the Real Alcazar and the Catedral (the pillars of which remind me of that scene in Moria in the Lord of the Rings where the hordes of goblins start swarming down from the ceiling) are paradigmatic examples. Bacon and Eggs? No thanks!

Advantages: Large rooms, clean, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Buffet breakfast could be better.

...The Hotel Sevilla Center is located in Avenida de la Buhaira which leads directly to Seville Airport and is only a few hundred yards from Santa Justa train station, making it very convenient for arriving in Seville. It is only a 10 minute walk to the historic centre of Seville with all the sights of the city and the interesting shopping centre. The hotel is next to two parks which are good to stroll through on the way to the city centre and one has an open air restaurant which is cheap and convenient. Fun In Seville at the Ferias Festival!

Advantages: Vibrant, lively, colourful, energetic, traditional dancing, friendly
Disadvantages: Stays open to 7am! Party party party! (sore head in the morning!)

a wonderful place

Advantages: sights, sun, pretty streets, tapas bars,

...very interesting and a good way to experience a part of Spanish culture without having to witness a bull fight (most bull fights are on during April and May in Seville). The Real Alcazar is well worth a visit. The beautiful gardens are as stunning as the Palace itself. If I had known I would have taken my lunch and a book and enjoyed the gardens with lunch! And as you exit the Real Alcazar you enter the square full of orange trees (although these are abundant in Sevilla). I would recommend taking a Spanish phrase book as not many people speak English - which I enjoyed, actually feeling like I was on holiday. Although not as cheap as other parts of Spain I didn't feel Seville was overpriced. The sight seeing was definitely good value with most sights being less than 10 euros. I did not rush round Seville but spend 6 days and nights taking in...

AC style in the suburbs

Advantages: free mini bar, great facilities

...One of the fabulous buildings in Seville, originally built in1927 as a residential building for the Exhibition. it is now the AC Ciudad de Sevilla. I loved all the exhibition buildings dotted around the city centre and was disappointed to find few remaining features within the hotel, although the exterior is wonderful. As with other AC group hotels it has a very modern interior. As we entered from the bright, white, facade, I found the stark, dark reception area quite incongruous. The reception staff were helpful and spoke good English. (We had already experienced this, trying to get directions to navigate the Seville ring road and locate the hotel!) Our double room had air-conditioning, a spacious bed, and a view over an inner white-washed courtyard and Gaudiesque tower. It had a very clean, modern bathroom with all my favourite AC...

Review of AC Cuidad de Sevilla - Seville Hotels

worth the walk for stunning views

Advantages: beautiful views, value for money, stunning architecture
Disadvantages: none

...The Giralda Tower is just part of the wonderful visit to the cathedral in Sevilla. From the outside the architecture is astounding and inside is much the same. The walk up to the top of the tower is fairly steep and narrow but on a slope. Although not the best for wheelchairs or pushchairs it is possible. At the top you are rewarded with beautiful views over Seville. A brilliant spot to take photos with viewing windows on all 4 sides. You can also see the huge bells that ring out over the city every day - in fact those tall enough can probably touch them. Although not a huge fan of heights I felt fine at the top of this tower as it is an extremely solid construction. It is well worth the walk up (and down) and incoporated in your entrance fee to the cathedral it is good value too!...
