Janome J3-18 sewing machine

...This is my first machine as I started sewing about 3 months ago. I cannot praise this machine enough - it's an entry model yet incorporates so many features including 18 stitches, 4 step auto buttonhole and really simple threading guide. On first opening this machine, I used the clearly written instruction manual and was sewing in no time. The instructions are step by step and I quickly learnt how to thread the needle and the bobbin to start sewing. It's a really sturdy machine and I have found it really easy to master, as well as sort out any tangles and problems. It is pedal operated, with a nice long lead that stretches comfortably to nearby plug sockets. Bad Bobbin!

Advantages: great price, very useful, easy to use
Disadvantages: Quite basic and the bobbins are very annoying!

I was browsing the 3 for 2 gifts in Superdrug when I stumbled on the Mini Sewing Machine (£7.99); surprised at the amazing price I decided to add it to my basket. I could finally fix my trousers and other garments that had unfortunately been destroyed in 'action'. CONTENTS ------------------ The sewing machine comes complete with a needle threader, a needle a foot pedal and four metal bobbins. There is a detailed instruction manual which is very easy to read and follow. The sewing machine uses 4 x AA batteries or mains power. The mains adaptor is included in the box, the batteries however are not included, so if you want a portable sewing machine you will have to purchase these separately...

Review of Superdrug Mini Sewing Machine

Great Machine!

Advantages: Quick Work-Out, Cheaper than Power Plates, Great Results
Disadvantages: Only tones your body, doesnt keep you fit.

...This machine is simply a must if you want to tone yourself up and not have the hassle of going to the gym for hours each week! I bought one of these off Ebay, and now so glad i did. Its simply an amazing piece of kit. My Personal Experience At first i thought, surely this machine cant be as good as i've been reading all over the net, people must be exagerating and just trying to sell the machine. How wrong i was.... The first time i used this, i trained at level 10 (ranges from 1-20) thinking i can take it at that level no problem, and sure enough i was ok, i did a few different positions for my legs, stomache and arms. I trained for about 10 minutes, as i wanted to see how much this would actualy do, and sales reports tell me that 10minutes of using this machine is equivelent to 1 hour at the gym. Boy oh boy did i feel it...

...i can say that this is a great machine it really works and gives you good results i wouldnt say the best but you can certainly tell after a period of time that your body has toned up, i havent got one of these myself but i would like to get one when i can afford it lets say. the vibration on this machine is not like a massage its more intense and when you stay on it for quite a while you will feel your muscles tightnen thats when you know its working. so i definatly gives this machine a thumbs up, i suggest you buy this machine if your too lazy or bored to go to the gym because you can do many exercises on this in the comfort of your own home. this is a great machine and would recommend this a good buy...

...I brought this sewing machine several weeks ago now, from our local electrical supplier in town, so as yet I'm not sure how readily available it may be in the high street shops, my sister who is a factory machinist recommended it to me, she said it is an ideal machine for home use. I haven't had a great deal to use it on yet, but I have so far turned up two pair of jeans which the machine handled with great ease, also I adjusted a pair of silk pyjamas where again the machine worked perfectly, I tried to do this with my last machine, with disastrous effects, as the material would slip and thread would miss spaces.I have also adjusted my daughters bedroom curtains and using the heming function it gave a very nice finish to them.
