Stargate SG1 - Season 1

Advantages: Gripping, addictive, plenty too watch, perfect in most ways

...I?ve been a massive fan of the Stargate franchise since my older brother brought home the first season box set a couple of years ago and we sat down to watch it nearly every day. Ok, so first I?ll begin with an explanation of the Stargate SG1 universe. Here goes. Humans are a the next step in the evolutionary path of a race of aliens known as the ?Ancients?. They were a massively advanced race both in technoligy and mentaly who existed millions of years ago. ...Most people know or have heard of Stargate SG1 somewhere along the line as people have with Star Trek but I will go over this show for the people that either are unfamiliar or have not heard of it at all. The show is about a secret United States Government operation run mainly by the Air Force, which deals with a project, which is called The SGC (Stargate Command) facility. Advantages: EXCELLENT SCI FI, BRILLIANT ACTING, AMAZING SPECIAL FX
Disadvantages: NONE

...Stargate S.G.1 based on the Stargate movie. This series is one of the best science fiction series ever. The series follows S.G. 1 on their missions to other planets through the Stargate. The S.G. 1 team are made up of Jack O'Neill (2 L's), Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson and eventually Teal'c. Colonel Jack O'Neill is very anti establishment and has a lot of funny one liners and always seems to be the one getting shot, blown up, zapped, transported or whatever. ...At first i thought to myself why the hell aint no-one writtern a review on stargate season 3. I am disapointed on the fans (shame on you) haha. I must say this is one of my fav boxsets due to the fact the writers concetrate on the characters which appeals to the veiwer that so much more, ok i will begin Standard intro: Stargate SG-1 is about an Air Force team that, through the use of a large metal hoop found in the Egyptian desert that opens wormholes to other gates on different worlds, is exploring the universe. Jack O'Neill, who is a good leader, but not the smartest guy in the group, leads the team. Samantha Carter is a brilliant physicist and warrior woman. Stargate SG1 Series 1-10 plus The Ark of Truth

Advantages: Incredible value, great for any fan of the series
Disadvantages: Lacks the special extras you may find in a specially created boxset

...made. This undermines its effect as providing the complete Stargate SG1 DVD collection and may put some people off. All I will say is that the price of this boxset makies it incredible value when compared to the latest 'Complete' boxsets. Extras As mentioned above, this is really just a collation of all of the individual boxsets that you can already buy in the shops, and so there are none of the special extras that you may expect to find where the boxset has been created for a celebration years after the series has ended....

...This is a brilliant program for any sci-fi fan. Anyone who saw the film and liked it would also like this program. Stargate SG-1 is a spin off from the film Stargate. It contains action, drama and little humour which makes this series great to watch. It is suitable for all ages . The series follows the missions of the SG-1 team who travel to different planets through the Stargate - a different one each episode, meaning new adventures and problems for each place they go. This really is good television....

Stargate SG-1 Volume 36 DVD - Preview!

Advantages: The best episodes of season 7... so far!
Disadvantages: Only four episodes per disk!

...Stargate SG-1 is the Science Fiction series that follows the adventures of the American military team SG-1 and their adventures through the Stargate to explore other planets and Alien cultures. Colonel O?Neill, Major Carter, Doctor Jackson and Teal?c are reaching the end of their 7th year / season on this DVD volume but will be returning for an eighth season which is testament to the quality of the show. Volume 36 contains the four episodes ?Heroes? Parts one and two, ?Resurrection? and ?Inauguration.? The Title sequence of the DVD is just about the right length, there no time consuming copyright screens as you step through the worm hole and are transported to a computer generated military base on another planet.
