...Ten or so years ago the name Shania Twain was always said in the same breath as country music.I was never a fan of country music but when she decided to broaden her horizons and take music to a new level with a mixture of what i can only describe as 'country leanings with a pop music edge i was totally blown away by what this lady has achieved. After hearing a couple of her songs in the charts i was never going to say "That dont impress me much" (excuse the pun) because she did impress me with a few songs that were fresh and clean.A far cry from todays mad world of music where everyone wants to pop a cap in your arse. Advantages: Amazing songs.
Disadvantages: Doesn't include single version of God Bless The Child

First of all, Shania is a writer and her record company wouldn't let her write her own songs, second of all, Shania appeared to be to opinionated for Nashvilles taste. ...From the moment Shania Twain made her way onto the radio, I have been a big fan, and her album, Up! has not disappointed me. It all starts with the album cover and her sassy, playful, photo. Its very simple, yet striking. I can't say that any song on this album is an instant classic, however, it is filled with incredible melodies, lyrics, and emotion. The first track is "Up!" This song sets the tone for the rest of the album with it's energy, and as the lyrics suggest....."There's nowhere but up from here." "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" is a song that shows her sassy side. Advantages: good value for money, excellent viewing

...I am a great SHANIA TWAIN fan, and have been for quite a while. I have a lot of her early music and its just as pleasurable to listen to just as much as her later stuff. I bought the SHANIA TWAIN "LIVE" video a while back, after a friend lent it to me and I just had to get it. It cost me 12.99 from HMV, and is well worth the money for 24 great tracks, all of which she sings in the usual Shania manner. Running time is approx 2 hours. It is filmed at the Dallas Reunion Arena. The largest indoor facility in the south west. She starts off with "MAN I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN" and throughtout the video shows off her talent. (Shes a great artist that can actually sing live!) It doesn't take long for the audience to get into the swing of things. ...I wrote this at work last night while I was supposed to be working. It is fairly self-explanitory. If you ladies out there met a Brad Pitt lookalike with wodges of cash, a nice car and brains to boot how much time would you spend worrying about "the touch"? Hell if I met him I wouldn't! She's Touched Shania Twain was not impressed by my looks or brains or car or by the stylish way I like to dress or how intelligent I are! I didn't quite know what to do chat on or just give up. When she spoke of "The Touch" I knew she was making this shit up. There is no such thing as "The touch" looks and brains are rare enough because Cupid doesn't come round much. So if you miss him then that's tough. Y'see she's set her sights too high with criteria absurd. I had no choice but to reply, "I'm glad you're not my bird!"...
