Sharp Aquos LC46

Advantages: Cheap, simple to use and good picture
Disadvantages: Basic in features, better picture on more expensive sets, poor EPG

...As we allready own a Sharp Aquos LC 32 (analogue) we decided to upgrade to a 46" Digital model. The TV is simple to instal and tune and the menu easy to follow. The backlight feature is not so good as it is set on maximum as a factory standard. We could have done with a bit more backlight as the picture can appear dark at times. The Electronic Program Guide is not the best in the world but suffient for use. It takes forever to browse through the week ahead as you have to move one program at a time. Most EPGs allow you to skip days. To obtain the best results, you have to adjust all of the colours and tints to your own standards but this is easy to do and the menu is user friendly. Sharp TV

Advantages: Great Value Easy to set up
Disadvantages: Built In Freeview Slow to respond

...I opted for this TV instead of the latest Samsung due to previously having a Sharp and the excellent value of it. Not disappointed at all! The specs were almost the same and the Sharp television is over £100 cheaper. Well worth it, picture quality is fantastic and is very easy to set up. The great thing about the set is the amount of inputs there are on the back of it. 3x HDMI, component, scart etc plenty of inputs for everything you will have. The only niggle i is that the built in Freeview is quite slow to respond to commands and doesn't have a page up/down option on the EPG. Nor does it have a small preview screen small price to pay i guess!...

When it comes to Blueray there is a cloud of haze that surrounds the format, generally you don't ask questions because it almost seen as if you should know, rather like sex or kissing when you're at school. Go into an electrical showroom and ask questions, the sales assistant might well look at you like your not quite there, or as if you really should know the answers to the questions. The ultimate 32 inch TV

...Put simply, probably the best 32 inch TV that money can buy. Not the cheapest but the best. I bought this to replace an aging CRT (fish bowl style) TV and the difference was apparent immediately. The image quality and clarity this television offers compared to CRTs and even other LCDs and plasmas is simply astonishing. Although the screen size is relatively conservative, the brightness allows it to really fill a room. Another superb aspect to this TV is the design of the actual unit. The clean lines and piano black finish make it look business-like but stylish. The only real downside to this TV is the relatively small panel size. I doubt the Sharp would fill a large living room so people looking for a TV for this purpose should look elsewhere. Other than that, this TV is almost perfect.
