Sharp Aquos LC46

Advantages: Cheap, simple to use and good picture
Disadvantages: Basic in features, better picture on more expensive sets, poor EPG

...As we allready own a Sharp Aquos LC 32 (analogue) we decided to upgrade to a 46" Digital model. The TV is simple to instal and tune and the menu easy to follow. The backlight feature is not so good as it is set on maximum as a factory standard. We could have done with a bit more backlight as the picture can appear dark at times. The Electronic Program Guide is not the best in the world but suffient for use. It takes forever to browse through the week ahead as you have to move one program at a time. Most EPGs allow you to skip days. To obtain the best results, you have to adjust all of the colours and tints to your own standards but this is easy to do and the menu is user friendly. ...I opted for this TV instead of the latest Samsung due to previously having a Sharp and the excellent value of it. Not disappointed at all! The specs were almost the same and the Sharp television is over £100 cheaper. Well worth it, picture quality is fantastic and is very easy to set up. The great thing about the set is the amount of inputs there are on the back of it. 3x HDMI, component, scart etc plenty of inputs for everything you will have. The only niggle i is that the built in Freeview is quite slow to respond to commands and doesn't have a page up/down option on the EPG. Nor does it have a small preview screen small price to pay i guess!...

The ultimate 32 inch TV

Advantages: Awesome picture quality, stunning design

...Put simply, probably the best 32 inch TV that money can buy. Not the cheapest but the best. I bought this to replace an aging CRT (fish bowl style) TV and the difference was apparent immediately. The image quality and clarity this television offers compared to CRTs and even other LCDs and plasmas is simply astonishing. Although the screen size is relatively conservative, the brightness allows it to really fill a room. Another superb aspect to this TV is the design of the actual unit. The clean lines and piano black finish make it look business-like but stylish. The only real downside to this TV is the relatively small panel size. I doubt the Sharp would fill a large living room so people looking for a TV for this purpose should look elsewhere. Other than that, this TV is almost perfect. This figure only applies to the backlight mid. setting. I found my own settings for the backlight better than the automatic sensor or OPC, although this is a clever feature. The sound is good although i would have liked to have Dolby Digital/DTS. With a 32" screen you are getting into the realms of home Cinema and a seperate sound system would be ideal but not entirely neccesary....

...This Ipod is extremely nice looking and easy to use, just as the iphone it has the touch screen interface. Only it lacks the phone, camera and GPS. With it's 32gb capacity its the ideal choice for the music lover, because you won't find 32gb capacity iphones (just 16) and you can let it alone playing music in a party while not worrying about phone calls. I've had it for about 4 months now and absolutely love it, it has never failed or had any problems, also it has survived some falls with no scratches at all (the "delicate" looking glass screen can survive alomost any scratch without getting any marks), though i use a protective case which i also recommend you buy if your gonna have this baby. Extra feauters include WiFi internet, Youtube, Contacts, Agenda, Calendar, Alarms besides the Music and Video playing capabilities...

...the apple ipod touch 32GB is the best value for money in my eyes when it comes to versitility, durability and capacity although the capacity is put to shame by that of the ipod video which has about 100GB it is still plenty of space for all your application, music and video needs. versitility: the ipod touch contains an itunes app store with over 10,000 application to do anything form straightening a picture to practising guitar in cramped conditions, but if your not into those it also has thousands more practical apps such as a mobile internet browser and a scientific calculator. durability: I personaly have an ipod touch and form the time i got it i must have dropped it at least 20 times on concrete and stone floors until I finally made the clever descision to just buy a case but before that i found that the ipod touch can take...
