better shave with cream
Review of Palmolive Shaving Cream by
neiltom88
Advantages: cheap, water-based, less irritation
Disadvantages: takes a litlle longer to shave, you need a brush
...I have always suffered with sesnitive skin around my neck area when I shave, I have tried many different gels and razors but until I started using Palmolive shave cream i never really found anything that didnt make my skin sore.
Palmolive is a traditional shave cream that comes in a tube - the cream has to be used with a shaving brush to create a thin water based lather on the face. The cream and the brush combined are what is important about getting the right shave, the circular motion of the brush helps lift the hair away from the face so it can be easily removed with one light stroke of the razor. A good tip before applying the cream is to soak your face for a while with hot water - this opens your pores and expands the size of the hair by 30% which makes it easier to shave off.
The cream is cheap about £1.90, and although...

Try a Shave cream, old-fashioned but it works!
Review of Palmolive Shaving Cream by
paule23
Advantages: Less irritation, closer shave
Disadvantages: Takes longer
...I've been using a shaving cream for some time instead of a gel or foam and find that you get a much closer shave with less irritation.
Gels and foams were origionally designed to be a time saving item, to be used only when you were running late, a bit like microwave meals. They do the job but aren't half as good as a home cooked roast!!!
Anyway, back to what I was talking about. I've just read some advice on how to have a good shave, some of which I use, but instead of an oil I use a shaving cream and a shaving brush. I find that it is very effective in softening the bristles to make shaving a much less painful experience. You don't need to go out and buy anything fancy either. I sue Palmolive shaving cream and it only costs about 1.80 per tube and lasts for quite a while. You get a really good lather, and I don't know about other...

have you got your's yet
Review of Palmolive Shaving Cream by
karlsgirl
Advantages: good and clean shave
Disadvantages: none
...Have you tried this palmolive shaving cream,!! i have loads of gels that do the same job but i think this is one of the best i have used. you will know the difference when you try this you will want to keep buying this i think you will like it as it is one of the best shaving gels or cream.
This gel in a long thin tube, it is very easy to use as you just put onto your face and use your shaver and it will get all your stubbles of your face leaving it nice and smooth.
It might be easy to shave if you put your face in some hot water so that it wets your face and its easy to shave. it also opens your paws you it is easy to shave as well.
The cream is costs about £2.00, it is a quick and easy way to shave as you feel alot more awake and cleaner.
It is a good way as well if you are in a bath to shave as it makes your skin more and more...

Another great product from Nivea
Review of Nivea For Men Shaving Gel Sensitive by
sit2020
Advantages: soft skin
Disadvantages: thick
...I grew up thinking of Nivea as a cream that came in a little blue tin and had a unique aroma.
I also grew up thinking that face creams, cleansers and other associated products were the preserve of the fairer sex.
So I was wrong on both counts, Nivea have more products now and some of which are for made exclusively with men in mind, Nivea sensitive shaving gel being one of them.
This makes sense; skin is skin and suffers from the toils of day to day living, regardless of the sex of the person.
Shaving makes skin more sensitive, well it does more than that, it can make it sore and even bleed. After shaving skin can feel and look red, as well as shaving removing hair it also strips skin of its natural oils leaving it feeling dry and sometimes tender. Us poor men who choose to remove our facial hair have to suffer this on a daily basis...

Hot shaving tip for all men
Review of Aqueous Cream by
waterfront85
Advantages: Cheaper and more beneficial than foams or gels
Disadvantages: Comes in quite large tubs so you need room on your bathroom shelf
...Whilst it is well known that aqueous cream is a good emollient for skin conditions, did you also know that you can use this wonder cream as a soothing shaving cream?
Use just like a normal shaving cream, foam or gel, aqueous cream will give you as good a shave as any of the other high street products that are out there, and for a fraction of the price.
A large tub can be bought at all good chemists for around £2, and it lasts forever, and does not use any harmful CFCs. The cream goes on cooly and moisturises your face as you apply the cream.
So before you next decide to buy an expensive foam or a gel, why not consider aqueous cream, especially if you have sensitive skin. I had a skin complaint earlier this year, and the specialist who treated me recommended the cream, and suggested that I also use it for shaving. I have used...

Smooth as a baby's bum
Review of King of Shaves Post Shave Gel by
master2001engel
Advantages: Very soothing/moisturising
Disadvantages: Effect wears off and dries out if you leave the cap off
...This post shave gel is simply brilliant. After suffering regularly from shaving rash this little beauty was the answer to most of my prayers. Easily absorbed into the skin, soothing and smelling quite nice, King of Shaves Post Shave Gel is the best aftershave moisturiser/soother I've ever tried. One tube lasts absolutely ages, even if you shave every day as I do so its well worth the money (it seems relatively expensive when you see it on the shelf). I'm not convinced by the little beads of vitamin E suspended in the gel but they rub in easily and don't do any harm I guess.
To me, gel is more appealing than messy, creamy moisturisers - often I feel the creams are simply repackaged women's products with a 'masculine' fragrance and blue rather than pink box, but not KoS products.
The only problem I would site is the fact that my...

As Smooth As A Baby's Bottom
Review of King of Shaves Woman BLU Shaving Gel by
MarieDon
Advantages: WOW
Disadvantages: No Sting In It's Tail
...After many years of using different hair removal creams and gels. I'd find myself suffering the following day with the stinging effects of the day before. I was tempted to try the King Of Shaves Woman - BLU Shaving Gel - afterall what had I got to lose apart from my hair and I'd lost much more in the past!!!
Well I took my razor and my gel into the bathroom and opened the tube and squirted a small amount of the gel into the palm of my hand and started to rub it onto my skin - mmm this smells nice I thought - not chemical like many others - not too foamy either - at least you can see where you're heading with the razor, and where you've been.
When I had finished I waited and waited for the stinging to start - but nothing - I felt clean and my skin was smooth and soft and felt refreshed and my skin didn't feel clammy like it usually...

Smooth face and feel great
Review of King of Shaves Alphagel Shaving Gel by
DAVEAINSCOW
Advantages: Gives you great smooth skin
Disadvantages: A bit expensive expensive
...The first time I had heard of King of Shaves was on the internet I happened to stumble on a website that told me all about it and offered me a free sample!
I couldn't resist trying it out, a few days after I received a pack containing 3 items:
1. Sachet of Shaving gel
2. Sachet of moisturising cream
3. sachet of shaving Oil (for eletric shaves)
I think you get about 30g in each of the free sachets.
Today I had a shave using the gel and moisturiser, and it is great the gel doesn't foam up it just stays clear on your face, the razor just seem to glide over my face.
The moisturiser applied after your shave is the best, my face felt so smooth after putting that on, its just great, it can also be used as an after sun lotion!!
Before I go any further, If you a are intrested I got my sample from WWW.SHAVE.COM and clicked on 'FREE SAMPLES...

Lifes Little Pleasure
Review of Palmolive Sensitive Shave Gel for Men with Aloe Vera by
richardjmeek
Advantages: Lovely smell
Disadvantages: None
...I don’t usually think much about shaving creams and gels I usually buy what is on offer at the time. That is until recently when I discovered Palmolive Sensitive Shave Gel for Men with Aloe Vera.
Palmolive is one of the cheaper brands on the high street it costs £1.49 for 200ml in comparison to £2.69 for Gillette which is probably the most popular.
I have sensitive skin when shaving and usually end up with a rash but this gel seems extra sensitive and I no longer have that problem. I hate shaving and view it as one of life’s little pains for the workingman.
Palmolive with aloe Vera seems to have a good effect the Aloe Vera contained seems to revitalise you and clear blocked sinuses and I imagine it would help if you had a cold.
Only a small quantity is needed for a good shave and the can seems to last for quite...
