IVAR good shelving unit from IKEA

Advantages: Cheap, Unfinished softwood, Highly compatible with every room, Strong, Easy to construct, Easy to change layout, Easy to addon extra parts at a later date
Disadvantages: Can look a little plain (lke scaffolding) if not painted or waxed.

...Having worked at IKA for two years, I have learnt which of the products are good in which areas, and which are the best value. I needed some shelving in my bedroom and the IVAR range seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Not only was IVAR fairly cheap, it was also beyond easy to build, the number of combination possibilities was endless, the unfinshed softwood the units were made out of meant that I could paint, wax, oil, etc to any colour to match my room. If you put a shelf in place, and then feel it doesn't fit in well, it's not a case of having to undo the whole unit - you simply lift the shelf up, move the four supporting metal pins to a different level, and place the pin down again. ...Ikea makes several changing stations, but only one of them comes with attachable shelves, and eventually converts to a bureau. The bottom half of the unit costs £100. It comprises three drawers and a jutting out platform for changing, which also has a small open storage space beneath. The three drawers are deep, and glide smoothly (if you build it right). The changing platform is held in place by a fixed hinge. Its a bit nerve wracking at first placing your baby on what looks like a shelf supported only by open air, but it is very strongly supported by both wood and metal. When you no longer need a changing station (will that ever happen?) you undo the fixed part of the hinges and the platform folds up and over to form an opening and closing bureau. ...When I was pregnant I spent a long time looking at baby changing stations, but the ones in my price range all seemed too 'plasticky' whilst the wooden ones like from Mamas and Papas were way too expensive at over £200+. On a leisurely trip to Ikea one day, we found this baby changing unit! Reduced from only £89.99 to about £50 or £60 (Sorry, forgot price) it seemed a bargain. It was obviously flat packed, so you have to bear this in mind if you have a small car, we have a 5dr Vauxhall Corsa and it just fitted. WHen we got it home the instructions were clear and it only took hubby a matter of hours to put together. It has a fold down top where you change your baby, and underneath that it has a place to put all your changing lotions and potions. 512mb memory unit - too small?

Advantages: SMall and easy to take around with you and for storing game saves
Disadvantages: Expensive and a hard drive would be far more beneficial

However if you opt to go for either the premium console or the elite console you will get the main hard drive for free and will have less need for these. These small memory units are both advantageous as they are small and compact and suitable for certain tings. I fitted the screws through the correct holes that were drilled ready turned the screws with the Alan key that was provided, I also needed a scew driver. The first pieces were fairly easy to fit but as I progressed it was a little more difficult as you had to move .walk around the unit to fit the screws I really did this in too small a space top of the stairs. Well I did complete this task successfully and without too much difficulty. I checked it for rigidity and the unit shelves were firm. Some wheels came with this pack they can be fitted to the base of the unit, but I felt that I did not want the grandchildren moving the unit around so have kept the wheels safe in case I decide to add them another time.
