Citre Shine Shampoo and Conditioner

Advantages: makes hair really shiny
Disadvantages: quite expensive

...seen a buy one get one free offer at boots, I decided to go for the 'color brilliance' shampoo and conditioner. They were about £3.49 each for a 300ml bottle, which i think is a bit expensive for a drug store brand as I'm a cheapo student. They're also not often on this offer, but if they are then i stock up. It's often on three for two though. The packaging said 'Infused with shine enhancing citrus extracts, this product will protect against everyday environmental stress'. Wicked. I can't really say what the shampoo and conditioner is like seperately, as i always use the same brand shampoo and conditioner together. However I shall take you through the hair washing experience, as it were! The shampoo is of nice consistancy, with a lovely scent. Quite hard to discibe... it doesn't really smell all that citrusy as the name would suggest...

Shine On

Advantages: Stephen King's claim to fame ; Superb atmosphere ; Sublime plot ; A vivid imagination that stretches all supernatural boundaries ; Probably responsible for some of the best horror films of the 70's and 80's
Disadvantages: Some unessesary background in the first half ; Kubrik mucked up the story too much ; Could have been much more

...Being thoroughly refreshed and cheerful following my Misery conquest, an adrenaline rush urged me to stick my nose into yet another King classic, The Shining. Of course, generally when you've seen a certain Jack Nicholson film more times than you care to remember, you start to wonder, why bother? But then you hear how Stanley Kubrick practically threw Stephen King's novel into the fire after a quick skim read and went about making his own super version, makes you pretty inclined to read the novel that made King the bestseller he is today. Initially I was apprehensive about starting the book as I'd heard some negativity surrounding the content of the first few hundred pages. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. A revitalising conditioner!

Advantages: Great scent, tangle free hair, only a small amount required, great price.
Disadvantages: None

A shining example of a stonking good film

Based on the novel by Stephen King and directed by Stanley Kubrick, it was made back in 1980, and yet for me and many others, remains a film that has stood the test of time. It is my all-time favourite film and has been for some time - it is one of the few films that I can watch over and over again, and yet I never get bored of, despite knowing precisely how it is going to end. For me, it has everything that I want in a film - great acting and visuals, a creepy atmosphere with a bit of supernatural thrown in, a bit of gore, beautiful visuals and wonderfully appropriate music.
