...The reasons for me decideing to write this review is that not long ago my son cought chickenpox and my mum was worried that she may be able to catch Shingles from him. Shingles is often associated with the elderly and Chickenpox and i knew very little about the actual virus so i decided to do some research to put my mums mind at rest. I was suprised to discover that you can not catch shingles from someone who has shingles or Chickenpox. Shingles is only contagious to those who have not had chickenpox. Shingles!!!!! what a pain!

Advantages: can't think of one.....
Disadvantages: too many to name!

...OK let's hit on a strange subject here although I do know many people who have suffered from this complaint. My first encounter with Shingles or Herpes Zoster to give it it's proper name, was when my Mum got it half way round the top half of her torso - it appeared initially like a bite - one big itchy spot but within hours she was covered in water filled blisters and in a lot of pain - the doctor took one look, diagnosed shingles, suggested calamine lotion and painkillers and left. Six months of pain and misery followed the doctors visit and eventually I asked an alternative therapy clinic to make her up some pills - these worked and her health improved but the pain stayed with her for several years. Ascos Coral Beach Hotel,Cyprus. One of the nicest hotels.

Advantages: Close to beach, peaceful , no children, close to bars
Disadvantages: Shingle beach by hotel.

...We stayed at the Ascos Coral beach Hotel ,Cyprus, in June 2009. The hotel, during the summer months is for adults only,which if your are on a relaxing holiday makes a big difference. Once you enter the hotel you can notice straight away that there are no children running around, its very peaceful. The hotel is around half an hour drive from the airport at Paphos. It is located on the coast and has a pathway down to a shingle beach which to be honest we did not use as it was a bit awkward to walk along. The shops, not many mind, and the bars are about a five minutes walk. If you want to go to the coral bay beach it would take you around 15 minutes to walk there at the most, and to drive there it would take around 1 minute. Advantages: Uplifting, pleasant
Disadvantages: Dont use when sunbathing.

...We went to Samos for the second time this year (2008). The first time was in 1994, when we stayed in Samos Town, but this time we preferred a much quieter resort, so we chose Kambos (formerly Votsalakia). This is a small village which has a devoted following. We have never met so many people who go back year after year, sometimes twice a year. The taverna and bar owners know everyone. Each night we saw people coming in to eat or drink, being recognized and welcomed with open arms. Even us, who were on our first visit, were waved at as we passed by.
