Are you wearing foundation?
Review of Shiseido Liquid Compact Foundation by
Freddydog
Advantages: quality product
Disadvantages: none
...The Shiseido Liquid Compact Foundation is sold (£18) on its own as a refill with sponge - it comes in an air tight container to keep the water based foundation free from air stopping it dehydrate. I don't think it is possible to use this on its own. So buying the Shisedio liquid compact is a must (£10) which has two compartments one for the foundation to drop into and the other with holes for the sponge to sit in. The pale gold compact with mirror is not my favourite colour but the product is worth its weight in gold!
Applying - it must be the easiest foundations to apply, by using the sponge the foundation goes on very easily and thinly enabling me to build up to the desired coverage. I had a rather nasty red patch on my nose (ok spot) and as I was rushing out I used the foundation as a quick concealer - it worked brilliantly...

Two thumbs up for Shiseido
Review of Shiseido Fluid Foundation by
flicky90
Advantages: Goes on quite sheer, doesn't look cakey, nice colour
Disadvantages: Price
...I love this foundation.
I am naturally very pale with oily skin, so I used to have real trouble finding a foundation that kept my skin somewhat matte and came in a shade close enough to my skin tone. No high-street brands ever had a shade pale enough for me (and their quality was debatable anyway) and even MAC didn't have a true match - their pale shades were too beige for me.
Lucky for me, I came across a lady who recommended Shiseido foundation. Willing to give it a go, I went and found it in Selfridges one Saturday. I bought shade #100 - can't remember the name - because I think it was the first foundation shade I'd tried and it had actually been a good match.
I've been wearing it ever since, and it tends to stay on quite well, too - I wear it from 7am every day and while it doesn't stay looking perfectly applied all day, I never...

The best cleansing wipes
Review of Shiseido Cleansing Sheets by
eyebrowfetish
Advantages: Gets rid of make up effectively
Disadvantages: Expensive
...thought that the smell was gorgeous-perfumed, but didn't irritate sensitive skin like mine! I sometimes broke out into a rash using Botanics, which is meant to be for sensitive skins, so go figure. These sheets are really accessible and are really, really soft; they're 100% cotton. I'm not sure what my other brands of wipes were made of, but this is by far the softest I've used. They're quite thick as well, so it's easy to hold and quickly wipe your make-up off. I use these occasionally when I get in and i'm too tired to properly cleanse, but also to remove my foundation before I use my Eve Lom cleanser. I wouldn't recommend using these as your actual cleansing regime, because no cleansing wipes are that efficient, though you can use them randomly if you're tired or drunk.
Shiseido claim that they maintain your skin's natural balance, which I...

Get outta here BeneFit!
Review of Shiseido Shiseido by
carly_pussycat
Advantages: Looks like you've got naturally good skin, lasts ages, contains SPF
Disadvantages: If you've got any foundation left you'll not want to finish using it!!
...I don't like wearing foundation - and I'm 23 with pretty good skin so I don't NEED to wear it - so what should I wear instead to slightly enhance my skin? Tinted moisturiser.
After a rather unpleasant experience with BeneFit's oily-as-hell You Rebel tinted moisturiser I thought I had explored the wrong avenue. However, I soon changed my mind when I gave it a second chance with Shiseido's 'Essential Tinted Moisturizer' which claimed to be semi-matte (ie. not look as powdery as matte but not as prone to shine as a fully moisturising formula).
ESSENTIAL TINTED MOISTURISER
The only thing I knew about Shiseido when I came across this product on strawberrynet.com was that they have a counter in my local John Lewis. They have a lot of different Shiseido ranges on strawberrynet and this product is from The Skincare range (which sounds...

Is it makeup, or just good skin?
Review of Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer by
carly_pussycat
Advantages: Looks like you're not wearing makeup, gives a healthy glow
Disadvantages: Expensive at full price, might be shiny on oily skins
...As a girl with good clear skin (most of the time!) and no wrinkles I hate wearing foundation. To me it seems pointless using it if all you have is a slightly uneven skin tone - it's thick, either too dry/too wet, feels horrible and unnatural, and often creates horrible spots on my face due to my skin being unable to breathe. So…when I discovered tinted moisturisers I decided that was the way forward. Up until now I'd been using Shiseido's tinted moisturiser from their 'The Skincare' range but having run out I scouted round strawberrynet.com where I bought it only to find they don't sell my shade any more :( Stila's equivalent seemed a sensible choice given that I'm short of money and it also won first prize in The 21st Century Beauty Bible in the tinted moisturiser category.

Shiseido Skincare Range
Review of Shiseido Range by
jenniferching
Advantages: The most flexible and moisturising line I know
Disadvantages: it may cost a lot if you really get into all the products
...I have been using Shiseido on and off for 6 years. In between, I have to say that I have tried other brands like H20 ( not readily available in the UK), Clinique, Estee Lauder, Origins and Chanel. Shiseido is the one brand that I constantly returned to and has now become the only solid staple in my skincare routine. To me, Shiseido is unique brand which really covers all the bases when it comes to skincare. I have never known another brand to have this degree of flexibility or a closer nderstanding of it's customer base.
Shiseido as a brand is probably a lot less well established in the UK than it is in Asia; it costs a litte more ( not by that much ) and is only available from a few large department stores. I'm sure they have their reasons but I would say mainly that it can be put down to the fact that the skincare market...

SHISEIDO'S BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY
Review of Buyer Beware! (urgent warnings about products/services to avoid at all costs) by
iamdante
Advantages: Many products
Disadvantages: BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE / BAD POLICY
...I have been using Shiseido products for a while. Some I like a lot; some I've found not so great like their facial scrub. But what disappointed me is their customer service.
I was at a duty free shop at Tokyo Narita Airport when I saw the UV White line under Shiseido. I bought a mask to try for the first time. After a couple of applications, I found that it irritates my skin and little rash/bumps appears for a few days after use. Since I bought this at duty-free in the airport, I couldn't return it to the store. So I contacted customer service for an alternative solution.
I was told: "You would need to contact the duty-free shop from which you purchased to
find out about their return policy."
After repeated attempts to explain that the product actually irritates my skin and why I couldn't return it to the store, as I live...

Got Dark Circles...Get Shiseido Concealer!!
Review of Shiseido Concealer by
jas19
Advantages: Very easy to use, good results, lasts ages and so many shades to choose from.
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest on the market, packaging doesnt last very long.
...I have the WORST dark circles, i look like ive had five rounds with Tyson...and lost! Ever since i turned 15 ive been through so many concealers, most of them making me look many different shades of grey, apart from shiseidos concealer for the under eye.
I first came across it at Harvey Nicholls. I tried it on and i was amazed. I have asian toned skin so finding a concealer that doesnt make my skin look like patches of pink and grey is a challenge, but this concealer had so many shades to choose from and actually matched my skin colour!! Yaaaaaayy! So i thought id go for it, yep go for it at around 20 quid for a small lil tube. So the price is not exactly friendly but the results justify the price, really it does!!
I went home and tried it the next day before i went out. All of a sudden i had been transformed from a patchy panda...

NARS Blush - Orgasm
Review of Shiseido Nars Blusher Orgasm"" by
vcarina88x
Advantages: (+) stays for hours (+) not too shimmery (+) sexy shade of peach/pink (+) nice packaging
Disadvantages: (-) not many Northern locations to buy from (-) expensive online delivery charges
...the packaging, dying to test it. I had no high expectations but...WOW...it was gorgeous! At the time of testing it, I had had no makeup on other than a little tinted moisturised and mascara. It looked so flattering against my rosy cheeks, not too shimmery or overpowering at all!
I honestly thought this was a fluke - how could a blusher - which I had previously considered to be overrated by people - look so flawless on my skin? So, in an attempt to prove the blusher wrong, I washed my face and applied a full face of makeup from scratch - foundation, and all. Again, the blusher looked fantastic!
This NARS blush is well named - I was getting a little over-excited solely from the fact that I had eventually found the perfect blusher.
Last Christmas (2006) I found a link on the Internet for the NARS MULTIPLE ORGASM SET. Giggling away to myself...

Shiseido Curl Mascara
Review of Shiseido Curl Mascara by
h_o_y_f_d
Advantages: does not clog your lashes
Disadvantages: none
...what so ever on purchasing my Soul-mate to
be and my Shiseido mascara arrived around 5 days earlier. I
must admit it was a bummer having to wait that long - one of the
main reasons I prefer purchasing from a shop however, the
wait was well worth it!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
-------- Trying out my new Buy -------------
When I un-raveled the cellophane coat from my Shiseido Curl
Mascara I had mixed feelings as I was scared in case this
would be yet another let-down. However, when I twisted open
my tube and loaded the wand with a moderate amount of the
black stuff and carefully started to apply my mascara. I was
amazed when my lashes never began to feel heavy. The
mascara glided on to my lashes very easily and smoothly and
never felt sticky. I applied just one coat then looked...
