...I never had a Morrisons close by but I would occasionally get to go with other people to do a shop and I always loved shopping here, but then recently my local supermarket was replaced by a Morrisons and I was very pleased as I preferred it to the supermarket that was originally there. My weekly shopping bill greatly reduced which was a real bonus. The supermarket felt bigger and offered more choice. I have been shopping here for a couple of years now however the prices have gone up dramatically in the past couple of months due to the economical climate. The store layout has remained the same but has had a few changes but then has gone back to the same standard layout of most supermarkets. I can?t quite understand why they put the fruit and Veg. to the front of the store as this always leaves me rearranging my food in my trolley...

Advantages: Cheap, better styles than previously, great for knickers

...Matalan is famous not for its products that are economical but also its costumer services policies that are also very generous. I am a great fan of this store. As my nephew is due to arrive in january so i really had to shop alot for him because I am in the only sister of my elder sister. We normally go to Matalan every week for this purpose. Thats why three weeks back we bought some clothes for my nephew that were in the range of £12 to £20. There was no offer then on that collection. After a week when I visited again I saw that the suit that i had bought is on offer of buy one second half free but also it was cheaper now to half price. I was greatly astonished but also depressed because I thought I could have gotten something else if I would have bought it now. You will probably see Morrisons more frequently in your national tabloid paper or on the television more frequently than anywhere else as the advertise their 2 4 1 bargains with national celebrities such as Alan Hansen, Lulu and Gabby Logan, or in the paper with 2 shopping trolleys bulging with goodies, twice as many as their competitors. My local Morrisons is in Basingstoke. A Cheap and Cheerful Place to Shop

...For those of you who read my reviews you will know that I frequent Poundland quite often that's why I have decided to write a bit about the shop. First opened in the UK in 1990 and now with more than 160 stores countrywide, Poundland is Britain's largest £1 retailer. I am not really a great fan of £1! shops because I do think that most of the items they sell really are just worth the £1 you pay for them, but, although Poundland does sell some junk too, it does also sell a good variety of branded products, which sell for much more expensive prices elsewhere. It's one of these shops where, if you have time to have a browse and a rummage then you can pickup a few really good bargains. I find it can be really good at specific times of year. For instance, at Christmas my daughter managed to buy herself a few cute little decorations...

...Asda has opened round the corner: a big superstore. And I am really happy. Though I like small, speciality shops and I have got my butchers and I travel half and hour to get my fish from my favourite fishmonger, Asda has made my life easier. It’s a big store with always enough tills open. Once I have learnt my way around, I do my shopping in a few minutes. Aisles are big so they don’t get crammed even when the shop is busy. It’s open 24 hours (except for the week-ends) . I don’t use the possibility very often but it’s perfect when the need arise. Prices are also very good and their own brand is usually excellent so I should be saving some money. Ethel Austin - A pleasure to shop!

Advantages: Inexpensive clothing for the whole family, regular sales.
Disadvantages: No changing room, poor manoeuvrability for wheelchairs.
