5 Star Luxury starting at £20 a night! - Renaissance Kuala Lumpur
Advantages: Cheapest 5 star property in KL. Excellent western property. Great facilities and staff.
Disadvantages: Not as fresh as other 5* properties but at this price, who cares??!
...conference rooms, and one of Kuala Lumpur?s largest ballrooms. With over 900 hotel rooms there is plenty of space for both the leisure and business traveler to not bump into each other all the time!
The hotel has a fantastic leisure offering with an in house spa and hairdresser. There is also a recently refurbished gymnasium and Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
Outside is one of KL?s largest swimming pools that lies in the shadows of the two hotel wings towering above. The landscaping is beautiful and even in the fast pace of the city an excellent place to relax. Once you are bored of swimming you can swim right up to the bar in the middle of the pool and order a drink or some food whilst still sat in the pool, a nice touch!
The hotel also has a selection of gift shops and a convenience store should you have forgotten any of your essentials...

Take me to the Hilt. Take me to Hilton Kuala Lumpur!
Advantages: Modern, Clean, Luxurious. Great price!
Disadvantages: Having to say goodbye. Too much choice for food!
...If you have read my Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur review you may question why I would even contemplate staying at a different property. The answer to this would be price. Hilton managed to entice me to stay at their flagship Asian property In February and March this year due to a 70% discount promotion. Given the nature of the recession I thought it was best to slim my expenditure down to size and took a Grand Executive Suite at £110 a night. The usual price for this would be in excess of £250 a night and when you see the room, you can clearly understand why.
Hilton KL opened in 2004 and established itself as a major player in the KL hotel market and was soon crowned the accolade of Hilton?s flagship Asian property. When you visit it is easy to understand why! The hotel is always in the top three of hotels in KL on trip advisor and it...

Super Duper Kuala Lumpur!!
Advantages: Larger than life bustling city, lots to do and see
Disadvantages: Not for anyone who likes an early night, long flight
...could walk to the local markets, restaurants and bars. There are hundreds of hotel in Kuala Lumpur and you would definitely not be stuck for somewhere to stay while you are there. There are literally hundreds of skyscraper buildings. As we were only in KL for three days, I am unable to comment on the accommodation that much as we did not really visit any hotels aside from the one we were staying in. As mentioned before, our hotel was in a prime location, offered excellent customer service and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.
CURRENCY
In Malaysia, their currency is the Ringgit. While we were out there, the exchange rate was £1 for RM 7.00
GETTING AROUND KL
Getting around KL was very easy indeed. We found that the main town, although large was quite compact so you did not have to walk for miles between shops...

Some Information About Kuala Terengganu
Advantages: Peaceful Town, Low Living Cost
Disadvantages: English is not well used by locals
...it as a great beach for me, you can swim and rest at the beach and it's really clean. Plus that place is so quiet and you can have your own privacy.
o The beach is located near the Kuala Ibai Lagoon
Kuala Terengganu Waterfront++++++++++++++++
o This place is still under construction and will be finish end of 2006. It is one of the main government projects on tourism sector and it will be a place where the people can see the boat racing held at the island in front of the waterfront. There will be loads of shops in that waterfront and promising a good view and delicacies to the people that visiting this place.
Duyong Island++++++++++++++++++++++++

Flying Free In Kuala Lumpur
Advantages: Natural surroundings, lots of species, excellent value for money
Disadvantages: None
...I visited Borneo and Kuala Lumpur last year and being a massive fan of animals, myself and my boyfriend visited all the animal related attractions. One of these was the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park.
Where Is It?
Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is situated in the Lake Gardens area of Kuala Lumpur which is close to the Orchid Gardens and the Tun Abdul Razek Memorial. The bird park is a little bit out of the main town in Kuala Lumpur as we did try to follow a map and find our way there on foot but after getting lost and asking a couple of locals which way we needed to go, they told us we would be better getting a taxi. So get a taxi we did and good job too because it was about a 15-20 minute journey to the Bird Park. The Lake Gardens area where the Bird Park is situated also have many other attractions such as The Deer Park, Orchid & Hibiscus Garden...

Kuala Lampur - Where you dont find Kuala
Advantages: People, Shopping, Food, Spots
Disadvantages: Crime
....
Also to visit places are the Royal Palace, National Museum & Jamek Masjid which is the most famous Masjid over here.
The Petronus Tower or the largest twin tower todays are also worth watching. The Shopping mall next to it i dont remember the name, i think its KLCC is one of the biggest in KL and you will have a good time shopping over here as you will find all the top brands over here. You;v got food malls which have some delicious food.
Malaysia is a place where you can do some good shopping.
Chinatown is also a place to shop where you get products from China, Its good but you have to be good at bargain, coz if you good at it then you can get the same product at a very good price. Then also visit craft Cultural Complex.
I have also seen some of the rural houses on Ampang road.
these house are built to be protected from heat...

Kuala Kangsar. The Royal Town
Advantages: Fine Heritage;Unique Handicrafts; Quiet and relaxing
Disadvantages: Lacks Night life
...Kuala Kangsar, the royal town of the "silver state" of Perak in Northern Peninsular Malaysia,is a small but very beautiful town. It houses an incredible array of heritage buildings and is a very historic place. In town there is the Istana Iskandariah-the palace of the Sultan of Perak- the old palace, two of the oldest and most famous schools in Malaysia, the Clifford School and the Malay College. Then there is the beautiful Ubudaih Mosque-one of the loveliest in the country-and the fascinating Royal Museum. Near the District Office of Kuala Kangsar you will come across the oldest rubber tree in Malaysia.Rubber was brought to Malaysia from Brazil via Kew Gardens by a colonial official a Mr Ridley.
The handicrafts traditions in this pleasant, charming, little, town are also very interesting. For centuries the iron smiths have fashioned...

Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur
Advantages: Lively. exciting. Cheap goods. inexpensive food
Disadvantages: Noisy. Crowded. Some pickpockets are around
...Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur (KL)-known as Chinatown- is endowed with a distinct character of its very own. There is loud blaring music, colourful shops, hawker stalls, restaurants, coffee shops and itinerant peddlers in this vibrant, bustling, exotic street.Flanking both sides of Petaling Street -which is known as Chee Cheong Kai in Cantonese-are shops selling just about everything from textiles, flowers, crafts, shoes, clothes, watches,CDs, and traditional Chinese medicines.
Seemingly unaffected by the growth of one stop, plush, air conditioned, shopping centres in Kuala Lumpur,Chinatown has held its ground and remains a popular hunting ground. Its also a paradise for tasty but inexpensive Chinese food. You will find Cantonese,Hainanese and Hokkien dishes here in this city within a city and at prices that will amaze you.Budget travellers...

Kuala Terengganu-Idyllic
Advantages: Rustic, Slow pace of Life. Good handicrafts
Disadvantages: Lack of night life
...Kuala Terengganu on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia is a pleasant, laid back, town with a large fishing industry and an important tourism sector. The town itself is quite quaint, clean, and has a small, vibrant, Chinatown, The place has a number of good hotels and budget establishments and is a popular stopping place for backpackers on the Eastern Corridor trail Singapore-East Coast Malaysia-Thailand.
KT- as it is commonly called by the locals-is a good spot to enjoy seafood and I would recomnmend the stalls at Batu Burok, which are very clean as a good haunt to try out local specialities.
KT is the gateway to a number of really good beaches at places such as Maran and there are also the turtle sites along the coast at Rantau Abang. The way of life here is very slow paced, rustic, and charming. There is a lot of emphasis on tradtional...

Amazing Kuala Lumpur
Advantages: Amazing city with spectacular views
Disadvantages: The humidity
...I visited Kuala Lumpur (KL) in October 2003 after spending a week on the wonderful island of Pangkor. When I arrived I was slightly shell shocked at the size of all the buildings and almost fell out of a taxi because I was so pre-occupied with the amazing skyline.
Our hotel, The Mandarin Oriental, was right next to the Petronas Towers and the KLCC shopping centre. It is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and we got a great deal for the room. The service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Most of the shopping plazas are full of designer shops that i was not expecting. You can save quite a bit of money on the designer labels that can be had but they are not cheap. The best value for money items that I found were make up and perfume from the department stores and, strangely enough, luggage. I bought 2...
