WEST FIELD SHOPPING CENTRE DERBY
Advantages: COSTLY
Disadvantages: OUT PRICING SMALLER OUTLETS
...Recent talks on cutting spending and new shopping centres are not well-matched with each other. Yes we love these new shopping centres and plush surroundings, tempting everyone to spend all their well earned money.
But are we tempted? This is the multimillion dollar question.
I love to shop like everybody else and buy new things like any other normal person would, also to have a good choice.
So my idea of shopping is the traditional high street.
Traditional high street shopping is where you will find the best choice and a variety of shops to suit everyone,
Building huge shopping centres takes up space of any town or city and is becoming really outdated and boring.
Today another shopping centre opens its doors and it is mammoth like those of Gates Head in...

Inspiring Capital,Inspiring Shopping Centre?
Advantages: Very Clean, Easy to get around, Lots of Space
Disadvantages: Too few shops, not on two levels, not that easy to get to
...The Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh which opened in October 1993 is one of 4 main shopping centres in Edinburgh. The others are Cameron Toll, St James Centre, Waverley Market(Princes Mall) and Ocean Terminal. There is also Westside Plaza but this isn't exactly what you call a main shopping centre and Straiton park,Craigleith(The Quarry) and Fort Kinnaird are all Retail parks.
The Gyle is a approx a 10 minute drive from Edinburgh International Airport by car/taxi. It is approx a 30 minute drive from the City Centre depending on the time of day and the route you take to get there as it is often very congested nearby due to it being directly opposite Edinburgh Park(Home to the RBOS headquarters and a whole host of big companies) .The area round the Gyle is mostly businesses and there is are many houses nearby within walking distance...

The Centre MK
Advantages: Vast range of stores
Disadvantages: Some duplicate stores
...This Review is for the Centre M.K which is a huge shopping centre in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
The shopping centre is managed in two parts, the first being the Centre MK and the second a place named Midsummer Place.
The actual opening date for the shopping centre was September 25th 1979 and has over 260 stores inside. This might have changed quite a lot since the current recession and stores shutting down.
This will be an insight to what the centre has to offer and what you can find there.
Opening Hours
Monday - Wednesday
09:30am -- 06:00pm
Thursday - Friday
09:30am -- 08:00pm
Saturday
09:00am -- 06:00pm
Sunday and Bank Holidays
11:00am -- 05:00pm
Layout
The centre is laid out extremely well. You walk in through a door which is numbered. This door is the way back to your car.

De Bradlei Wharf Shopping Centre
Advantages: Discount goods, nicely laid out
Disadvantages: None
...Location
The De Bradelei Wharf in Dover, is located in Cambridge Road which is just off the main A20 dual carriageway. It is only a ten inute walk from the train station and a fifteen minute walk from the main bus station. It is about a five minute walk from Dover Town Centre market square.
De Bradelei Wharf
This shopping outlet is built in the historic Wellington Dock area of the town which is just behind the sea front with ample pay and display parking. If you buy something in store, the cost of your parking will be refunded.
The cost of the pay and display is £2.50. There are plenty of disabled parking bays too.
The entrance is constructed on decking which runs the full length of the complex on one side.
Here you can sit outside and enjoy the hanging baskets which are put out in the summer months.

Easy Shopping
Advantages: All undercover and easy to navigate.
Disadvantages: Plan ahead if you need the toilet!
...Unlike a lot of women I am really not that keen on shopping. I like to go every now and again and have a really good shop; I do not like popping to the shops every week like a lot of my friends. For this reason when I do decide a serious dose of retail therapy is required I like to go somewhere where I will have lots of choice and that I can be pretty sure will yield everything I need. I actually live between Oxford and Aylesbury, I rarely shop in Oxford as I have to use a bus because of extortionate parking and it is always too busy. Aylesbury is ok but the selection of shops is small. This means when I need a substantial shopping centre I hop in my car and drive an hour to get to Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.
Getting There
Getting to Milton Keynes is quite straightforward from most directions by car and it is well...

One of the first out of town shopping centres and still popular
Advantages: Indoors, warm, wide variety of shops
Disadvantages: A little dated after over 20 years
...The metro centre is a very large out of town shopping centre, and was one of the first out of town shopping centres in the UK. It is all indoors, with individual shops accessed from galleried walkways. It is quite complicated to navigate due to the size, but there are maps on every corner. Since then the site has expanded and there are now many separate shops such as IKEA, ILVA, ASDA, furniture shops, Pizza Hut, etc. These are all located outside the main metro centre complex, there is a shuttle bus between the different stores, as once outside the main metro centre you are faced with a fairly baffling car-led road system.
Within the metro centre there is a cinema, lots of restaurants and bars, the shops (of course!) and a big indoor theme park to keep the kids amused while you do your shopping. There is a huge variety of shops, great...

Good shopping centre
Advantages: city centre location
Disadvantages: somewhat dirty
...The Victoria Centre in Nottingham has the better shops than the Broadmarsh (its rival just down the road). It is however only a small part of the nottingham shopping experience. There is a wide range of well known shops in the Victoria Centre and a small indoor market selling meat, fish and other goods. It is a shame that smaller, independant shops have moved out to make way for the bigger fish.
The Victoria Centre has 120 shops and stores, including John Lewis and House of Fraser. There is also a wide selection of cafes and restaurants.
The Victoria Centre typically attracts over 450,000 visitors a week, and can get very busy on a saturday. As well as opening 7 days a week, with late night shopping on a Wednesday, Victoria Centre has 2,700 covered parking (although parking isnt cheap).
I like the Victoria Centre as it has some...

Best Shopping Centre ever!!!!!!
Advantages: Amazing shops
Disadvantages: Aching feet from walking!
...I've visited Braehead many times now, i only live 5 mins away by car!
I remember the excitement within the city when the Shopping Centre opened, and i can understand why. Before to go shopping all the best shops where in the City Centre, now it's not as far to travel for people like myself. There is a huge Marks and Spencers and BHS, along with C&A. For other clothes shops there is Topshop/Topman, New Look, Bay Trading, Dorothy Perkins, The Vestry, Principles (for men and women), Sports Connection and that's just to name a few.
There is a huge Sainsburys and Woolworths, along with HMV, WHSmith, The Disney Store, Argos, the Discovery Store. You'll notice i've only mentioned the brand name shops, there are also smaller named shops, which are just as good.
Obviously there are food courts. There are 2 ice rinks, one for skating...

So You Think You Can Shop ???
Advantages: Huge Selection, Disabled Facilities, Great Experience
Disadvantages: Gets Very Busy, Parking Bad
...Me and my family moved to Milton Keynes to escape the cluttered and increasingly violent world of South East London and I have to say it is the best move we have ever made. Great school's, Cheap Housing (On the rise now), Less congestion, Less Crime and of course let's not forget Milton Keynes Shopping centre. Let's face it we all love to shop especially when treating ourselves and the great thing about Milton Keynes is wherever you live in Milton Keynes you are only ever 15 minutes from one of the best shopping centers in the country if not the best.
LOOK AND DESIGN
The centre itself is 1.79 Million Square Feet of pure shopping experience with over 230 retail outlets for you to explore and is bigger than even the Blue Water Shopping Centre. Made almost completely of glass it is not only a great place to shop but a fantastic piece...

Superb shopping
Advantages: Shopping and food
Disadvantages: Not closer to Liverpool
...a parking space immediately. We parked near McDonalds so we could find our way back later!
There are disabled parking spaces, but none of the spaces seem very far from the shops. Best of all it is free to park ? which you can?t often say for city centre shopping.
FOOD
There are plenty of cafes and a McDonalds right next to the car park. The McDonalds was very busy because of the school holiday but it didn?t take long to get served. One complaint is that none of the staff were tidying up the trays/tables so it was a bit dirty and nothing like the service you would get in USA!
The website lists Garfunkles and La Brioche Doree as other eating establishments. Some of the cafes smell delicious so if you fancy something other than McDonalds just follow your nose and try one of these. Some mad people were walking around eating ice cream but...
