...I have just come back from Paris having spent 2 nights at the France Louvre. This is my review.... Location The best part of staying at the France Louvre was the location, right in the centre of Paris with great transport links. Metro station 'Chatelet- Les Halles' is only a 5-min walk away and seems to be a main station of Paris. The location of this Hotel is particularly useful if you are travelling on Eurostar as Chatelet station is only one stop away from the Gard Du Nord Eurostar terminal (Line B - Blue line). Also if you are visiting Stade De France this is only two stops away on the same line. After a game at the Stade De France you can be back to the hotel within 15 minutes providing you don't get caught up in queues!! This hotel is also a couple of minutes away from the Seine and around 10 minutes walk to the Louvre...

Elysees Opera/America Opera Hotel - Paris, France.

Advantages: Location, Room Size
Disadvantages: Facilities offered were minimal.

...and Disneyland Paris. It is also in walking distance of Montmartre and Le Galleries Lafayette. I felt that our hotel was in a prime location making it easy for us to get around the city. Paris itself is a very noisy city; being the capital of France this should be expected. There is always a lot of noise around including during the evenings and at night time. The fact that our hotel was situated in such an area did not make it any better; this was clearly visible with our balcony doors open. However, the hotel offers soundproofed rooms, as standard to combat this noise, of which I will go into more detail later. Overall for the location I would give it a 9/10, we never struggled to find anything that we were looking for, apart from the hotel itself in the first instance. Everything is easily accessible, and with a Patisserie and small shop...

Great little find in Paris- Hotel France Albion

Advantages: Fantastic location and large sized room!
Disadvantages: Breakfast disappointing

...Fresh off the plane from paris i thought I'd share my thoughts on this hotel in Paris where my best friend and I spent a long weekend. We chose the hotel for its location- close to shopping district and centre of Paris and we werent disappointed there. We were feeling confident about the hotel as we had had good communication with them before we left- we had changed dates and asked to leave our luggage in the hotel as we were arriving early. We were not disappointed when we arrived- the outside of the hotel was a freshly painted blue. of all the buildings in the street it was by far the best cared for giving a very good impression. inside, the staff could not have been more friendly and willing to help. we spoke in French to them but I did hear them speaking English with other guests. the desk is manned 24/7 which was a relief...

Places to shop in Paris

Advantages: lots of areas to shop,
Disadvantages: but spread out and you need to know where to go

...I have lived in Paris for 6 months and i understand that it may be difficult to shop in paris if you do not know where to go or if you are there for just the weekend. I must admit it took me a good month to find out where the good shops were! Buying the tickets: For starters i would definitely advise you to buy a metro ticket : there are different tickets available such as 1 ticket for 1 journey, a pass of 10 tickets , daily pass called mobili, a week pass (16?ish) and a months pass - the passes are called a carte orange and you do need a photo to get it. if you are in paris for just the weekend then i would buy the daily pass for 3 zones (oh yes forgot to mention paris is split into 8 zones or so, but for shopping you only really need the first 3 zones). Euro Disney Paris, France

Advantages: A quick taster of Disney parks, easier to get to, great hotels close by
Disadvantages: Can work out very expensive if your not careful

...We went the week before Christmas to get us in the spirit of things, on a 4 day deal for the price of 3. Different ways of getting there include: Euro tunnel and driving Euro Star takes you right to the resort Or Flying As there was 10 of us we took two motors and caught an early train. You should arrive 45 minutes before departure at the Euro Tunnel but don't panic if u do miss your alloted time, very often you can catch another one without the extra cost of it. We took the 6am train with a journey totalling 35 minutes over to Calais, France. From there it's head towards Paris direction under the Charles de Gaulle Runway. Journey time from the Euro tunnel is about 3 half hours depending on stops and traffic. The hotel we stayed in was the 2nd best in Euro Disney called The New York, which is a taste of The Big Apple...

I wouldn't want a "Holiday Inn" this hotel

Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: dull, dull, dull - and not cheap either

...This hotel has been listed on Ciao for more than two years without anyone writing about it and I'm not actually all that surprised. Writing a review of a really good hotel is easy and writing one about an awful hotel is fun. But how about hotels that are just a bit blurgh - not great, not awful? Is it actually possible to write an interesting review of an uninteresting hotel? I'm still not sure about that. If you find it a bit dull, please go and read one of my other hotel reviews - they'll probably be more interesting but Ciao needs the good and the bad as well as the mediocre. Sitting in my room at the Holiday Inn in Paris St Germain de Pres I couldn't help but reflect that the designers drew heavily from that area of the colour palette best characterised by the term 'nicotine'. Not a popular colour card at the 'mix your own Dulux...

Disneyland Paris with Leger Holidays

Advantages: Closer to home than the US parks and therefore less expensive to get there
Disadvantages: The French just don't have the same friendly helpful 'have a nice day approach' and parks are smaller with less thrill rides

...the restaurant that you travel through on the Pirates of the Carribean ride!. It really is an amazing place to eat. The ride still runs and people are passing your table throughout your meal. The food is great. I would strongly recommend the sweet that includes a small portion of each of their sweets:-) Their is also a french McDonalds which provides the usual fare for families. Nearby Attractions Paris is nearby and easily accessible by train/metro from the resort at reasonable cost. You can then visit the many wonderful places such as the Louvre, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower etc. If you take the Leger coach holiday, trip to Paris is usually included.   Shopping in France, mum and I having a day out!

Advantages: Quick, Easy, no walking or stairs for the disabled.
Disadvantages: I can't think of any.

...barely glance at the passports most of the time but you do need to have a valid passport just in case they decide to look closely. As you drive away from the passport check you will see some customs and excise people and they pull the odd car out of the line and ask a few questions and sweep it with some sort of hand held machine. This is to check there are no drugs or explosives on board. We were security checked only once and they were very polite and it didn't take long. This is the French security, you get to go through the English ones on the French side just before you come home again. Then? Follow the signs that say France, park in the car park, go into the terminal and wait until your letter is called or comes up on the screen. The terminal.
