Bewleys Hotel Manchester Airport
Advantages: near to airport a comfortable hotel and affordable
Disadvantages: none
...***Introduction***
I had a flight booked from Manchester to Rhodes three weeks ago but unfortunately the check in time was 5.30 am. I really needed to be refreshed on my arrival because it was a business trip so I decided to check into Bewleys Hotel the night before, I have on previous occasions driven from home to the airport and found it very tedious and stressful normally leaving me feeling like a washed up dish rag by the time I arrived at my destination.
***The Hotel***
It is situated about three minutes walk from terminal 3 but also provides a 24 hour shuttle service to all the terminals.
I actually travelled by train to the airport and on arrival I located the free phone in the main concourse to contact the shuttle service, they picked me up within five minutes which impressed me no end.
It is a large...

BCP Manchester Airport Parking
Advantages: situation of car park adjacent to terminals
Disadvantages: think I have said enough in my review.
...We had arrived at the airport around 4.45 am the 13th july 2009 and to give credit
the driver was waiting for us.
We went over the usual details but before he left I made sure we went around the car so any damage could be noted on handover, being no damage to the car he handed me the card with the telephone number on and gave me instructions for our return.
On returning we went to level 12 terminal 1 to meet the driver, there was also another family there.
I noticed our car parked up and the other families car was parked next to ours in adjoining car bays but no driver around.
About five minutes later the driver came through with our keys but said he had to go and get our tickets to get out the car park.
This gave us time to get the luggage in the boot and get in the car.
On switching on the ignition the petrol gauge needle barely...

Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel
Advantages: Just of the M56 - convenient
Disadvantages: Just of the M56 - noisy
...I stayed here for one night last week on a business trip to Manchester. I'd stayed there several times before, but they've recently renovated some of the public areas to make a new "Executive Lounge" with computers and things. Not quite sure what you need to get in there though...
The hotel is just off Junction 6 (Hale) of the M56 motorway, just 2 miles from Manchester Airport. and a 10 minute drive up the M56 to Manchester itself. This makes it quite popular for conferences and seminars, and there were a few going on there last week, one was "Effective decision making for non-executive directors of mutuals", that could have been interesting
There's a complimentary shuttle to Manchester Airport and they also offer "Park & Fly" packages (around £8 per day, I think) so you can leave your car there while you jet off...

Manchester Britannia Airport Hotel
Advantages: free parking
Disadvantages: see review
...I would like to take this opportunity in sharing my experience in the Manchester Airport Hotel.
My friend and I had booked a room (no. 321) for one night in the Manchester Airport Hotel for 11th August 2007 at the cost of 49 British pounds.
Upon unpacking I noticed that of the two towels provided in the bathroom, the smaller one, showed a large very yellow stain running down the middle of it, the larger one was acceptably clean. One additional large towel could be located in the wardrobe. I rang reception and requested further towels from the young lady answering the phone. Within 2 minutes the night Manager rang back and suggested that I "look in the wardrobe". Having stated that I had indeed already done this, the "manager" started a debate with me. Here I quote from the hotel services hotel information brochure "An additional set...

Great airport hotel
Advantages: Nice room and fab location
Disadvantages: can be pricey
...The Radisson hotel at Manchester Airport is probably one of the more well known as it has now been there for quite some time and unlike a lot of others around the Airport, hasn't been bought out over the years and renamed. The hotel is set right in the heart of Manchester Airport so that all three terminals are easily accessible from it and it is easy spot if you are coming off of the motorway to the Airport as it is set right at the bottom of a hill in front of the main roundabout at the airport that has all the flags of the world on it.
Room:
The rooms at the hotel are all a decent size - they have various room types and the lower floors consist of the standard rooms and the higher floors have the upgraded rooms.
The standard rooms are nice but tend to be decorated in a more simple style whilst the upgraded rooms tend to be...

Manchester Airport
Advantages: Central in Britain, Friendly, good links
Disadvantages: expensive car parks
...the wrong terminal for sure.
But we are saved. Manchester has an express walkway through to terminal 2. It takes 10 minutes. Crisis averted, we check in in the nick of time. Now we can see what is here.
The Buildings
Manchester Airport is a tightly-knit group of terminals, hangars, hotels, transport facilities, and petrol stations. Everything, as we found, is in easy reach. In terminals 2 and 3, check in areas are large, pleasantly warm, and efficient. As I strolled down into Terminal Two, there is a lot to do. High-street shops like W.H.Smith, Boots and Tie Rack are here. There is a reasonably priced and nice cafe. Toilet facilities are good, service is friendly - its great. Passport control was not a problem, and the Duty Free shop was extensive - everything you would expect. Even the seats in the departure lounges were comfortable...

Airparks Manchester - DO NOT USE
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Will crash your car and not accept liability
...DO NOT USE AIRPARKS MANCHESTER!!!
My intention was to write a letter of complaint following the disastrous service we received when we arrived at Manchester Airport on the 9th August only to wait 30 minutes for the driver to come and collect the vehicle (which meant that we almost missed our flight) and to be told by your customer services operative that you were over booked and we just have to wait, however, my letter is now of a more serious nature which requires immediate attention.
On returning from holiday on the 16th August at 1.00am, I called the number given to request that the driver brings the car to the terminal. My wife and I waited for about 25 minutes again after we had made the call. When the driver arrived with the car it appeared that the vehicle had been driven through a dirt track as there was mud and grit...

Manchester Airport MAN Jewel of the North
Advantages: Good location, good facilities, warm welcome
Disadvantages: can appear to be too big sometimes
...a very nice continental syle coffee bar..if you are disabled there are moving walkways to get you there......and there a re good views over the apron to add to your interest..
There are covered moving walkways between terminals and on site Hotels ( albeit expensive ones !!), the airport is warm and welcoming....with the added bonus of the runways being close to the terminal area there is normally no problem with long taxying, or waiting for take off....
Manchester is an excellent alternative ot the London Airports and no doubt will in the near future be looking for T4 ( Terminal 4) as it continues to expand and cater for even more routes and visitors, it has for the aviation enthusiast an excellent viewing park with shop and snack parking and toilet facilites and superb views over the old and new runways...
Manchester has certainly...

APH Parking at Manchester
Advantages: Inexpensive, courteous, polite service
Disadvantages: Not so easy to find, waiting around for buses to pick you up can be a pain
...I recently flew to Dublin from Manchester airport. Thanks to engineering works on the line at some point between here (Sheffield) and Manchester, the railway option wasn't open to me for my weekend away.
Firstly this posed two problems: one) I'd have to drive because my love affair with coach services ended some three years ago when, as a student, a National Express (spit, curse, spit) driver completely missed my stop and proceeded to blame me for him missing it. Two) driving meant that I couldn't be sampling the Irish delights, sorry, alcohol (well, a delight to me and a main reason for my weekend away).
Anyway, grumbling aside, I set about working out my route to Manchester airport, before deciding that an investigation into this whole airport parking malarky would be needed. I'd never driven to an airport before (the whole...

The two faces of Manchester airport
Advantages: Smart and clean with short queues
Disadvantages: High prices for food etc
...avoided the shops in the main airport so we got bored and went through passport control. This went smoothly and then we could explore duty free (they let you have duty free if you are flying to the Canary islands - 200 ciggies per person). 200 branded cigarettes cost me £12.99 - about a third of supermarket price. The duty free shop at Manchester is enormous, and is colour coded so that you know the price depending on whether you are travelling inside or outside Europe. There are also more food outlets and shops to spend your money in.
Most of the airport is non-smoking, so if you want to smoke you have to go to designated areas. It's all quite comfy though, so you can sprawl out while you wait. There isn't any entertainment available other than the shops and some people trying to get you to apply for credit cards.
The flights...
