Disadvantages: restaurants close quite early, not much veggie food

For example, I was looking to buy a new bag and saw a one I liked, however, when I looked at the price tag, I was amazed to discover that it cost over £300! So obviously I didn't get my new bag! As mentioned the town is fairly large and spread over a wide area but as there are regular bus stops, you can choose where to get off so do not have to walk if you don't wish to. Salzburg, the sound of Mozart...music

Advantages: Stunning scenery, wonderful place

Salzburg Salt Mines

Advantages: Excellent value for money, interesting, good fun

...When my boyfriend and I visited Salzburg in Austria, we decided to take a trip to see the Salt Mines. Getting there was very simple when using the Salzburg card and this also mean that the transport was free too (as the Salzburg Card cover this!). Arriving At The Salt Mines Once you arrive at the Salt Mines, which are well signposted, you need to book in at the reception. You pay here and the price was about £3 each which was very reasonable. Once you have paid, you are taken through into a warehouse type building. In here you can leave any valuables such as bags and shopping etc. You are then given some traditional mining clothes to put on. These consisted of a massive pair of baggy white trousers for the girls and dark blue trousers for the boys. You are both then given a blue jumper type thing and a leather pouch which sits...

The Beautiful Salzburg

Advantages: This may make you want to see Salzburg yourself

...I have been to Salzburg 3 times, all in December. The first 2 times I went was with my Secondary School on ski trips in Schladming which is about a 20 minute drive from Salzburg I think. Austria is an excellent place to ski; the views from the mountains are just amazing. I skied down the Planai hundreds of times which are, if I remember correctly the highest or steepest down hill slope in the world (that you can ski down); please correct me if I am wrong. There is a small bar/restaurant at the top which I have eaten and drank in many times before flying down the slopes. The food in Austria is very different but also very tasty and the drinks are very strong, hehehe!! Each time I have been I have shopped in Salzburg. Getreidegasse Salzburg - It will attract you too!

Advantages: One of the most beautiful and famous shopping lanes in the country
Disadvantages: Can get extremely busy during the summer; expensive

.... The Mozarts lived in 9 Getreidegasse from 1747 to 1773, and their son Wolfgang Amadeus was born there in 1756. Today, the home of the Mozart family is a museum where famous exhibits are displayed. Apart from shops you'll also find many flats which are occupied by mainly students as the University is only a few steps away. Most locals from Salzburg, however, know how to avoid the Getreidegasse at least during the summer months. If you would rather avoid the busy times then you should aim to visit this street first thing in the morning as it's fairly quiet then. Getreidegasse is a pedestrian-only zone which makes it fairly safe. You will also find lots of stands selling traditional Austrian goodies and gifts. ...Advantages: Loads of stuff available, good prices Disadvantages: can get busy at christmas time so much so people abandon their shopping I am a huge Asda fan, it's where I do most of my shopping and I know where everything is which makes it easier when dragging 3 kiddies along with you! In my local Asda we have a photo centre, cafe, George, electricals, homewear, toys, bakery, pizzaria, rottisary (chicken place lol), fresh meats counter and all the usual foody aisles plus we have a petrol station, cash machines and bus stop. It's the largest shopping store we have although we do have a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Co-Op, Farm Foods and Iceland. I have never had a bad experience with Asda and the stock is usually replenished quite quickly! They have such a huge range that I know I can do my weekly shop and more there. Everything...

Guilt free shopping

Advantages: Affordable clothes and accessories
Disadvantages: Very busy, occasionally poor quality, random sizing!

At £3 a pop, it's not such a great concern if they don't last very long, nor is it a worry for fashion followers who want to keep up with the latest trends. Primark is so affordable that entire outfits can be bought for less than half the price of highstreet stores. It has challenged other places to justify their prices and, I imagine, has posed quite a threat to a number of more expensive places. THE DISADVANTAGES This may be a big shop with plenty of variety, but it has got a little too big for its boots. There are too many customers and too few staff. Queues are a massive issue in this busy department store and, whilst some things are cheap enough for people to risk them not fitting, you can be waiting for up to an hour in busy periods at the Customer Service...
