Review of Livingston

Livingstone - Zambia

Advantages: interesting with a huge amount of activities
Disadvantages: can be unwise to go out at night.

...If travelling to Zambia it is well worth your while to go down to livingstone. Buses travel very regularly from lusaka and many other places for a fare fee (around $20/k100000). The journey takes about 6 hours. Obviously the main attraction is Victoria Falls, and when going I highly recommend picking up a guide and walking about the falls and visiting the 'Angel's Armchair'. This is a once in a lifetime experience and one in which you can go right to the edge of the falls and look into the famous 'mosi-o-tunya'. To get around while there there is a plentiful supply of taxis and you shuold not pay more than K30000 (one-way) to get to and from the falls Livingstone offers a diverse nightlife (by Zambian standards, which is pretty poor if your used to Westernized going out) but there are many bars with music that will go on till the very...

Hotel Livingston I presume

Advantages: Nice breakfast, excellent price
Disadvantages: In the middle of no-where, no bath, wardrobe or drawers

...We needed a cheap hotel to stay in whilst visiting Livingston (near Edinburgh) for a wedding recently, and one of the hotels on the list we were given was a Holiday Inn Express. I was very impressed with the one we stayed in for KarenUK?s wedding in Bristol (incidentally the venue for the Bristol meeting in June), so I decided to book 3 nights. Whilst on the phone I also registered for their ?Priority Club?, which gave me a few benefits (more on this later). So what did we get for our money? ?? LOCATION ?? Well, despite calling itself Holiday Inn Livingston, it is actually about 5 miles from Livingston, so if you want to be near the town itself, you would be better off with the Travel Inn. It is actually nearer to a smaller town called Bathgate, but still not actually in it. The hotel is about 15 miles from Edinburgh airport...

Quality Shopping

Advantages: All the shops in one place
Disadvantages: the prices

...Heading west on the M8 motorway from Edinburgh and towards Glasgow, you will at about 12 miles find Livingston and Junction 3. Once off the motorway simply follow the main road until you cross the river Almond ( about 2.5 miles ) here you veer left and follow the sign to MacArthur Glen and indeed Livingston Shopping Centre ( Almondvale ). There is abundant parking, but should you fail to find a space in the three main parking areas, about 500 yards further on is a huge multi storey car park which has exits leading straight to MacArthur Glen. Now I'm not a great fan of outlet like this since I do believe you get ripped off something rotten, but each to their own, and to be fair there is plenty of choice here should you which to purchase that so called bargain. You can also if you wish have a bite to eat in the many eateries located...

Livingston, Guatemala Central America

Advantages: Natural,peaceful,colorful etc.
Disadvantages: The town needs fire prevention equipments.

...For me Livingston is the place on hearth which is a true paradise. It is located on the Atlantic coastal area of Guatemala, Central America. The people, and the ambience in general give a peaceful feeling that enlightens the soul. While in many ways it is a primitive place. One can feel the human elements which say this is all I need to be happy. The natural environment stands still even when foreigners,or locals might want to impose the modern life of large cities, they are held back,not so much by laws, but by the nature of the place that in silence says "enjoy me the way I'm". Livngston is a place for romance, adventure and life in general. The Rio Dulce (Sweet River)a navigable fresh water river,which ends in Livingston, where it meets with the bay that connects it to part of the Atlantic Ocean,in my Opinion is the #8 wonder...

...Advantages: Loads of stuff available, good prices Disadvantages: can get busy at christmas time so much so people abandon their shopping I am a huge Asda fan, it's where I do most of my shopping and I know where everything is which makes it easier when dragging 3 kiddies along with you! In my local Asda we have a photo centre, cafe, George, electricals, homewear, toys, bakery, pizzaria, rottisary (chicken place lol), fresh meats counter and all the usual foody aisles plus we have a petrol station, cash machines and bus stop. It's the largest shopping store we have although we do have a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Co-Op, Farm Foods and Iceland. I have never had a bad experience with Asda and the stock is usually replenished quite quickly! They have such a huge range that I know I can do my weekly shop and more there. Everything...

...Primark is one of the greatest shops that i find that every time i go in there you can guarantee that i will come out having brought something. When you go into Primark you are guaranteed that you will always find a bargain and at the fraction of the cost of any other shops. Primark has come on in leaps and bounds over the years it stocks a greater range of items that are more in line with the fashions of today and at a great price. A few years ago i would never have even thought to go to Primark, but as they finally put one in my local town centre i always have a look for a bargain. Shopping with Teenagers

Advantages: Sells every item of clothing possible
Disadvantages: Busy at peak times

After we?d paid the perfunctory visit to the school clothing department in Debenhams we set off down the street to have a wander round the shops. Guilt free shopping

Advantages: Affordable clothes and accessories
Disadvantages: Very busy, occasionally poor quality, random sizing!

At £3 a pop, it's not such a great concern if they don't last very long, nor is it a worry for fashion followers who want to keep up with the latest trends. Primark is so affordable that entire outfits can be bought for less than half the price of highstreet stores. It has challenged other places to justify their prices and, I imagine, has posed quite a threat to a number of more expensive places. THE DISADVANTAGES This may be a big shop with plenty of variety, but it has got a little too big for its boots. There are too many customers and too few staff. Queues are a massive issue in this busy department store and, whilst some things are cheap enough for people to risk them not fitting, you can be waiting for up to an hour in busy periods at the Customer Service...
