Short Circuit 2 - That lovable robot again.

Advantages: Great family film with lovable characters.
Disadvantages: Slightly dated. A bit long for very young children.

...This film is the sequel to "Short Circuit". In "Short Circuit", a robot (Number Five) is hit by lightning and short circuits. This results in him becoming "alive". He is able to think and feel just as a human does. The Plot = Ben Jahrvi is an Indian immigrant who is trying to make a living on the streets of New York. He used to work for the company responsible for Number Five but since his "malfunction", Ben no longer has a job. He makes some toy robots which are similar in appearance to Number Five in the hopes of making some money. One of them manages to escape from his street stall and find its way to Sandy, a toy purchaser for the toy department of a large department store. She is desperate to find a popular toy after some recent flops and immediately makes a huge order with Ben. Ben is not sure about taking...

The fastest circuit in the UK?

Advantages: One of the fastest circcuits in the uK, hosts many types of events, Russells chicane
Disadvantages: Lack of facilities, a bit dated, exiting the circuit is a nightmare

...Snetterton is my home circuit and is located 10 miles north east of Thetford on the A11 from London to Norwich. The circuit is one of a number of race circuits (along with Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Oulton Park and Bedford Autodrome) owned by MotorSport Vision. The first race meeting at Snetterton was arranged in 1951 by the Aston Martin Owner's Club. The track had been cobbled together from a network of runways, which formed the wartime base of the 96th US Air Force Bomber Group. The site is open, flat, desolate and susceptible to strong winds. I find that if it is not raining I always burn when I go to the circuit. If it is not sun burn it will be wind burn, so I always take sun cream and lip salve and apply plenty of each at regular intervals. ...A fun family movie, Short Circuit was directed by John Badham in 1986. It was so successful that a sequel was made merely two years later in 1988, with the innovative title Short Circuit 2! The Plot In essence, the plot is a silly one. But it works. ...Whilst on a military display in front of the top brass, one of a set of proto type military robots is struck by a bolt of lightening. This sudden surge of electricity causes a short circuit in its computer system which gives it a personality and an ability to learn. With this knew intelligence, he escapes the confines of the military base and comes across the home of Stephanie Speck (Ally Sheedy) an ice cream seller. At first she thinks that the robot is an Alien from outer space, but soon realizes that it is a robot after spotting some writing on one of its panels. Advantages: A Classic, For All The Family, Great Story

For me the directing in Short Circuit is nothing short of superb, John Badham keeps a steady flow of comedy, action and story that comes together to make a great film, there is even time for serious talking and making everyone fall in love with Number 5, when watching comedy films made recently this fast paced directing style has been replaced with attempted unfunny comedy moments and bizarre stunts. Thus in my opinion i have not seen areally funny film in years When having a look at the cast for Short Circuit i noticed that the film won an award in 1987 called a BMI Film Music Award, this was given for the great use of music in the film. When i saw this i was not surprised in the least. The songs included, when looked at after watching the whole film are used to enhance the characters (especially Number 5) and the lyrics...

Johnny 5 runs out of energy

...Short Circuit 2 is the 1988 sequel to the much loved family film Short Circuit (1986). It reprises the character Johnny 5, the military robot who comes 'alive' due to being struck by lightning and short circuiting. The Plot Hoping to make it in the big city, Johnny 5 finds himself sent to help Ben in his new electronics business. Ben helped Johnny 5 defend himself in the original film in 1986, and original characters Stephanie and Newton send him to Ben. However, some criminals see money to be made with Johnny 5, and attempt to use him for criminal gain. The Cast and Performances Sadly, Steve Guttenberg and Ally Sheedy did not sign up for this sequel, and do not figure in their original roles as Newton and Stephanie, who took Johnny 5 in on his initial escape from the military in the 1986 film. ...As a child Short Circuit was one of my favourite movies, and umm it was still rather good when I had an urge to check it out recently - its sequel(under review here) wasn't AS good but it was still a lot of fun and the kin of thing you can leave your children watching knowing they will not get bored or be subjected to foul language etc. Its a great family film...well almost, but I'll detail those bits which might not be later on. Ben, the Indian guy with a habit of strangulating English phrases is back but reduced to selling little robot replicas on the streets. He meets up with a guy called Fred and they devise a plan to sell these robots to a local chain store through a woman called Sandy. However, she wants a large order and these two are struggling to meet the deadline - which gets worse when a couple of gangsters who wants to...

Sutton Circuit - Probably The Best Karting Venue in the Midlands

...Sutton circuit is based in a small village called Sutton in the Elms, near Broughton Astley, Leicestershire. I have been going to the circuit now for about 2 years, at least once a month. I have also visited many of the outdoor karting circuits in the midlands, and a couple a little further a field. I can honestly say that Sutton is the best maintained track, best maintaoned karts, and some of the nicest people you would want to meet. Some of the circuits I have visited, the quality of the karts is completely unacceptable when you are paying upto £45 for 30 minutes. In all of my time going to sutton I have only ever seen two karts break down, or have any mechanical problems. The circuit is around 600 yards long, and a good average lap is around 39 seconds whilst using the hire karts. The lap record using these karts is 38...
