...Show Offs! are made by BeneFit Cosmetics, a cosmetics company based in San Francisco. I expect you're wondering what a 'Show Offs!' is... well, let me tell you - "Sheer, loose, shining powders for eyes, cheeks & lips". Did that help? Ok, let me give you a few more details... From a distance, the product appears to be a small tube of a shiny like substance that comes in a variety of colours... (I think I may have been a magpie in a former life as I am attracted to all things shiny). Closer up, however, you soon see that Show Offs are basically a substance that can be best described as loose eyeshadow powder, with an iridescent sheen. I'm a show off!

Advantages: Sparkly, long lasting, wide range of colours
Disadvantages: price, not the cheapest brand

...Well having stumbled across the benefit range when my sister gushed about high beam, I had to go and find out more so off to my local boots I went....... As usual I got collared by the benefit make up lady, I thought my card was about to take a bashing As I can never say no but, in some sort of miracle she was not there to sell me useless junk ( sorry benefit) I would never use she was helpful and the first thing she said was' You look like a girl who likes sparkle' My eyes straight away went to the sparkles of the show offs range and couldn't decide on what colour to pick. Show offs is a range of loose powders which you can use anywhere, cheeks and eyes are the norm but I have used it to highlight other areas!! The range of colours is great as there is something to suit everyone form the browns to the hottest pinks and blues...

...A few make up fanatics like myself must always have in their cosmetic bags some glitter and dazzle to use when you need cheering up. Now I own loads of make up but I must confess to favouritising certain products for simply sheer greatness. Show offs are little containers chocka blocked full of colourful iridescent powder for sheer spirited dazzle. They can be used on eyes, lips, cheeks or anywhere needing glamourising. They each come in a sort of plastic tube with a screw on lid which is about 5- 5 1/2 inches long and resemble a lip gloss tube. Once opened you will be amazed at how dramatic images can be got just by using one of these little beauties! Show Offs?I would name them Why Bother.

Advantages: Good if you're only interested in light colour.
Disadvantages: Not v.good staying power, ltd colours.

...Show Off's are Benefit's version of MAC's pigments, there's no doubt about it. And because the products are so similar there is a bound to be a little comparison going on. I admit as a brand I prefer MAC, I like my makeup loud and professional and with MAC there's no fancy packaging to get caught up in (though it is a lotta fun with their ltd ed stuff!) and I like variety. I know I know, not asking for much! While pigments retail for £15, Show Offs are around the £12.50 mark. Neither of them come with a brush (a blessing as most brushes with products are a waste of time!) but benefit offer far fewer colours. Not much difference in price until you notice how much less product you get benefit. I could live with less product if the product itself wowed me, but Show Offs dont. Maybe Im in the minority or maybe I spend too much...
