...I will have owned my 1998 Rover 214 Si for three weeks on Monday, and so far i have been loving it.
I came accross it while trawling around second hand car garages looking for a 1.4 Ford Escort Osprey to replace my Fiesta Sapphire, which as it happens required a new engine.
The brooklands green paint linked with a beige paisley patterned interior was a nice combination, if a little old manny. The curvy, rounded lines looked tidy, with the chrome grill and trim strips being nice details. Throw in the standard smoked rear light lenses, the discrete rear spoiler and deep front air scoop under the number plate and you've got a smart and sophisticated wee car.
Standard equipment on the 200 is not bad, power steering, height adjustable steering wheel, drivers airbag, engine immobiliser, 60/40 split fold rear seats, tinted windows...

Advantages: Cheap, Fast, Good quality, Good handling... Disadvantages: Can be prone to rust, like all other MK3's
...In the 90's, "hot hatches" were all the rage, and a leading manufacturer, along with Renault and Peugeot, were Ford. The Fiesta has always been seen as one of the best selling and practical cars in its usual guise. Every so often however, car manufacturers suddenly have a "boy racer" streak and produce small, nippy little cars, capable of carrying its young passengers very simply, and very quickly into very big trouble!
The most popular models of the Fiesta range in the early to mid 90's were the RS Turbo's and XR2i's, with high power to weight ratios that made them all too popular with rebellious youths. With this in mind, insurance companies began to make these cars uninsurable to those under 21 years old, so a new spec model needed to be produced to please the younger, speed-obsessed market. This spec was called the Si.

...I had this is as my first car, a beautiful Ash black 16v Fiesta Si. It will forever be one of my favorite cars in the world - you get such great value for money - these car's don't hang about, their fantastic looks are absolutely timeless, the zetec engines go on forever, and like any Ford, it's easy and cheap to repair if something does go wrong! I had to sell mine due to a business venture, needing a 4x4, and as soon as I can afford to, I'm getting another one! I have had my escort for 9 months and purchased it from a lady who had the car for 6 years and travelled just 20,000 miles over 6 years and came with lots of history.
BAD POINTS: are bodywork it failed its mot on welding on the rear sill and alo needed welding on both rear chasis legs - Ford seem to be very good for cheap reliable motoring but the body work in pre 2000 models realy leave a lot to be discussed, because of this i am going to sell the car next year and move up to a focus which replaced the escort for which i have been told has all the bodywork isues sorted.
Very good car for cheap reliable motoring but if buying used make sure to check underneath for signs of rust and rot especially the front and rear chassis legs and have a goot look at the rear wheel arches which can rust and sills if these...

Review of Ford Escort 1.6 Si
Advantages: Cheap, starts first time. Disadvantages: People get put off by the Rover badge
...on the Micra was the seatbelt always worried him a little so after bursting into tears and thanking him profusely I told the Boyf the excellent news. We then set about buying various car finder magazines and checking out the adverts for car dealers - considering we'd be handing over a large sum of money we decided this would be the safest option.
Eventually we found a Rover 214si (basically a Rover 25) for sale and although initially put off by the idea of driving a Rover I was won over by it.
My particular model was a T-reg, metallic silver (although I call it the metallic mushroom as it's not a true sparkly silver), alloys, full Rover service history, 18,000 miles, 5 doors, electric sunroof, remote central locking, immobiliser, power steering, driver airbag and all for £2350. ...Not sure what the SI stands for, but it's a good quality car seat for your kids.
Our twins went into these seats from the age of 10 months, and were quite happy with the arrangements. had our twins in maxi-cosy rear facing seats from birth, but these Britax seats were their first forward facing seats.
Straps are an item worthy of comment.... There are 2 shoulder straps, big loops that come from behind baby's bum, to the shoulder pad.
The two loops each have a buckle clip, free sliding on the strap. When the child is placed into the seat, the straps must be brought around the arms, and brought together in the middle before inserting into thebuckle, which is attached to a centre strap, through the seat base.
In effect, once buckled, you have shoulder , side, and groin straps, connected through one buckle.

...Here we have one of hewlett packards printers named laserjet 5si. Very good printer its economical for both business use and single use. the good thing about this printer is that you can print and keep printing and the ink would last you for about 2 years.
One only problem that i found with this printer is that when you connect it to windows xp it would keep coming up with letter instead of A4 which in these days most people use A4. This problem was then solved by going into the printer menu in XP and changing the setting.
Apart from that an excellant printer for your money and you will be surprised when you see this printer start working very well built for business use and home use....

Review of HP LaserJet 5si
Advantages: Good overall car, reliable,sporty Disadvantages: no major problems
...I bought one of these cars secondhand, and have had very little problems with it. It always starts and has never let me down. The only problem i have had is with the indicator/light stalk. Sometimes the contacts stop working, which means its best to replace the whole stalk which is not very costly. This probably would only happen with an older car due to wear and tear. Other than that, i have over 100,000 miles on the clock, and it just keeps going and going. Look after the engine and it should just keep going. On long journeys it is very economical still. The interior of the SI is very sporty, including white clocks, sports seats, and on the exterior a spoiler and nice wheels. The sports suspension makes it very good on corners and roundabouts. The MK6 3 door SI is a nice looking car, nice curves and spacious inside.
