...Myself and my boyfriend recently went to holiday in Bangkok Thailand and while we were there we visited the Siam Ocean World. Location The Siam Ocean World is located on the first and second floors of the Siam Paragon Shopping centre which is pretty much in the middle of the City of Bangkok. Siam Ocean World The entrance consists of the ticket booths where visitors can purchase their tickets. The tickets vary in price depending on what you want to see when you get in. WE decided we wanted to see the 4D Theatre, the Glass Bottom Boat and the Aquariums. For this ticket we paid £8 which we thought was reasonable. Bangkok - Excellent for Shopping

Advantages: Cheap cheap cheap
Disadvantages: Traffic !!!

.... After lunch, we took a taxi to MBK shopping centre. It's the biggest shopping centre in Thailand and everybody told us it's a must ! Things on the ground floor are more expensive so check out higher floors as we noticed that things become cheaper and cheaper the higher you go. Opposite MBK, the Siam Square is another popular shopping area. At the Siam Square, you find Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery and Siam Centre. Siam Paragon is the upmarket shopping mall selling all the branded stuff. We had dinner at a typical Thai restaurant, Cafe Manna, in Siam Paragon. We ordered pineapple fried rice, green curry chicken, fish cake and Tom Yam soup, all typical Thai dishes. The bill came up to 1200 Baht for the 4 of us (£17) which we think is very reasonable given the location and the food it served. We were quite impressed with the shopping mall...

Thai Siam - "Siam the One and Only!"

Advantages: Tasty, fresh tasting food. Superb service.
Disadvantages: Slightly out of the city centre

...Thai Siam was our choice of eatery recently after an early evening excursion to the theatre. It was a wet, miserable evening but the welcome was warm and the atmosphere cosy. Situated in the West End of Glasgow at 1191 Argyle Street, Thai Siam is unimpressive from the outside, just another building in a row of shops with a neon sign. However the interior is modern and tastefully decorated. The restaurant seats approximately 60 on decent sized tables. There is the obligatory fish tank, a small bar area and the walls are sparsely decorated with large prints and three-dimensional textured pictures of Buddha. Shopping in Bangkok

Advantages: Lots of Bargains to be found
Disadvantages: Heat, can get very busy

Everywhere you look there are people selling things, whether it be food or clothes there is something for everyone. Some of the best places I found to shop were: MBK - (Get off at the National Stadium sky train stop). This is a large air conditioned mall which sells everything at cheap prices. If you go to the top floor you will find more traditional Thai products and you can barter here (only this floor though!) Siam Sqaure (Siam sky train station). Here there are a number of air conditioned malls that focus on luxury/ designer items and one building purely filled with food outlets. You will also find the Sea Life centre and Imax cinema here. Be pampered in downtown Bangkok!

Advantages: Professional staff, clean, wonderful spa and swimming pool, plenty to see and do
Disadvantages: Perhaps too much to see and do in the slightly dodgy immediate surroundings

The nightlife is pretty crazy: at Soi 11,Soi 13 and Soi 19, there is an abundance of clubs and bars. Bangkok on Sea or Family Friendly Fun?

...Whenever I visit Thailand I always take an empty suitcase and ensure to spend, at least, a few nights in this colourful city. Bangkok is truly a shopper?s paradise with its colourful markets and vast shopping malls all serving goods at amazing prices; it?s easy to get carried away. Probably the best time to go shopping is in the cool of the evening. Most shopping malls stay open until 9 or 10pm and the night markets stay open until midnight. It is worth remembering that prices, although they may seem low, are inflated for tourists. For example, I hear about many a tourist that flocks to the night market looking for a bargain. I agree, prices are cheaper here then the UK, however, talking to one stall owner I found that the market has an agreed minimum selling price for all the various types of goods. Review of General: Bangkok

A tranquil experience in bustling Bangkok

Advantages: High quality modern design, luxurious and relaxing, very helpful staff, great value for money
Disadvantages: Food at the hotel restaurants is not as high in quality as everything else

...Having flown in and out of Bangkok several times, I have stayed in several different places and most of them were low budget accommodations. On my last visit there though I decided to treat myself to a night at this 5 star hotel before flying back to the UK. Location The hotel is situated near the Siam Square shopping district which makes it a perfect place to stay if you are about to fly back home and want to do lots of shopping for items such as clothing and electronic goods. There are also lots of restaurants in the area and it is easy to get to other parts of Bangkok using the Skytrain. The nearest Skytrain station is Victory Monument and I walked to the hotel from there in about 20 minutes. The weather in Bangkok is usually hot and humid though so most people would prefer the easier option of the free shuttle service...
