...I am sure, up until the day he died, my husband wondered how he managed to convince me that Pattaya would be a great destination for a family holiday. However, he did manage it and more to the point, our visit was a memorable one. Whilst I cannot say I have any desire to ever go back, I am glad I have seen one of Thailand?s main beach resorts which is the antithesis to more traditional destinations such as Koh Samui or Hua Hin. Pattaya is often known as ?Bangkok on Sea?, and the town itself is situated just over 100 miles from Bangkok, or about a 90 minute drive away. The Wild Side Of Bangkok

Advantages: Cheap entrance, lots to see and do, very scenic

Fantastic all suite hotel in Bangkok close to transport systems.

Advantages: Lovely hotel with Brilliant views of the river close to transport links.
Disadvantages: The hotel is very high not good if your scared of heights. Restaurant pricey and not worth it.

A GLIMPSE AT BANGKOK

...BANGKOK INTRODUCTION I decided to visit Bangkok following recommendations from friends and family. However, as you can imagine, not everyone agreed that it was a safe place to go, particularly as I went with another female. Many family members thought that this was a bad idea and that two females alone in Thailand, particularly Bangkok would be preyed upon by the locals. However, they couldn't have been more wrong. I visited Bangkok for 10 days and it was one of the best 10 days of my life. The culture is so completely different from the UK that even if you don't necessarily enjoy your trip it will be an unforgettable experience. A Load of Old Bangkok

Advantages: I suppose it's reasonably short.
Disadvantages: Appalling direction, dreadful acting, derivative writing and dodgy stuntwork

Lost in Bangkok

Advantages: Good action film, fast moving, effective
Disadvantages: Very predictable, some parts are hard to follow

...I only just saw this film with a couple of friends last night and as I knew lately I've seen a lot of things and thought "I could review this" then left it, I have to admit I rushed through and wrote this review while it was all still fresh in my mind. It was not, for me, a particularly special film, but it was good. Story The film is about a hit-man/assassin who has travelled to Bangkok for his next four assignments. He normally lives strictly by the rules of having no social life and sharing nothing about himself. He gets people to work for him and if they find out too much, he kills them. In Bangkok, he starts to break his own rules, becoming attracted to a beautiful pharmacist, and the consequences follow. Beautiful Bangkok

Advantages: Beautiful people, beautiful city.
Disadvantages: Being hassled by Tuk Tuk drivers, and being told attractions were closed.

This being Bangkok, and us wanting to avoid any possible misunderstanding about what a "massage" really meant, we decided it would be safest to have a massage at the famed Wat Pho itself. The body massages that you receive here are quite vigorous and involve the body being manipulated using the masseurs feet and hands. They will pull your body around, stretching it slowly, often using their body as an anchor or tool. Foot massages involve a menthol-like cream being massaged into your feet and legs using a thin wooden tool and the masseurs hands. These can both, at times, be quite painful, but the result it worth it - my friend fell asleep during the foot massage! Review of General: Bangkok

A tranquil experience in bustling Bangkok

Advantages: High quality modern design, luxurious and relaxing, very helpful staff, great value for money
Disadvantages: Food at the hotel restaurants is not as high in quality as everything else

...Having flown in and out of Bangkok several times, I have stayed in several different places and most of them were low budget accommodations. On my last visit there though I decided to treat myself to a night at this 5 star hotel before flying back to the UK. Location The hotel is situated near the Siam Square shopping district which makes it a perfect place to stay if you are about to fly back home and want to do lots of shopping for items such as clothing and electronic goods. There are also lots of restaurants in the area and it is easy to get to other parts of Bangkok using the Skytrain. The nearest Skytrain station is Victory Monument and I walked to the hotel from there in about 20 minutes. The weather in Bangkok is usually hot and humid though so most people would prefer the easier option of the free shuttle service...

...Bangkok Dangerous. = Joe is a Hitman. Joe is the coolest Hitman in the world. Joe has rules which he never break. Joe is about to break his own rules and things are about to go seriously wrong. Joe is in Bangkok to fulfil his latest hit. He hires a go between, Kong, he lays down the rule that Kong must follow. these rules are unbreakable for a reason. when you break them things go wrong. but Joe takes a liking to Kong and that's his first mistake. Kong picks up a package for Joe, in the package is a brief case, in the case is a photo of his next 'Hit'. Joe then falls in love with a young deaf girl, his second mistake The hit does not go well the client is unhappy and soon everyone is after Kong, then everyone is after Joe. Opinion:Nicholas Cage is just incredible as Joe, he is mean moody and magnificent...

Beauty in Bangkok

Advantages: Great Breakfast, Friendly staff, central location, Yummy poolside pina coladas.
Disadvantages: Perhaps not very wheelchair friendly.

...On our trek throhugh Thailand in March 2008 our first point of call was Bangkok. We chose The Arnoma hotel as it was very centrally located by the main shopping district and close to siam square. It was very reasonably priced and i think cost us about £33-00 a night we booked through kuoni so got a lower price with the whole package and i think a night free! When we entered our room we were over the moon. I had read a couple of reviews on trip advisor which lead us to be dubious about the cleanliness of the hotel. However, the room was adorable with rose petals on the bed and fresh flowers. The bathroom was large, clean and modern and the bed was reasonably firm, just how we like it.
