Siemens C45 - Ageless Mobile?

Advantages: Small comfortable to use, robust, ageless design.
Disadvantages: Nothing to warrent mentioning here

...The Siemens C45 is getting a bit long in the tooth as far as mobile phone technology is concerned, but seeing that my wife and I have had over 3 years of trouble free service out of two C45s, I thought I would do a review. In my view Siemens are to be congratulated on this phone. Before I got the C45, I had one of the early pay-as-you-go vodaphones from Tesco - remember those? Anyway, one day I was getting into the car and didn't notice that I'd dropped my phone on the road and reversed over it. It still worked OK but the slot to plug the charger in was completely smashed. So a new phone it had to be and off I went to the Vodaphone shop in Cardiff. Siemens C45 - A good phone

...“Be inspired” – Quite a clever little slogan Siemens use for their phones, but I think it is very well put. They have chosen a great snappy little title and it suits their phones very well. After my unfortunate encounter with the Trium Mars (read my op) I decided after one and half years to get a new phone! The Trium was great but it was very boring and it was just basically crap. Siemens C45. A little wonderland.

Advantages: Its size and layout on the screen
Disadvantages: Its not a Nokia

...Siemens C45 would be recommended to any buyers. When you see it you automatically think professional, and the front of the phone shows off its class. Siemens is a major phone company so you know that you will get your moneys worth from any of their phones. ~Messages~ The C45 gives you the ability to send and recieve SMS text messages. But the only disadvantage is that you can only store up to 10 messages maximum between both the Inbox and Outbox Writing a text message is easy, and with its predictive text it makes it much quicker. Good bye my dear Siemens C45

Advantages: Resistant to bumps & small

...In the new era of mobile phones is difficult to survive for a long time. That?s why Siemens C45 will shortly just be a simple memory of how good phones used to be. It has been sharing a year and a half of my life, not bad to be a mobile, so I have learnt some things about it. For people like me that often see their phones falling to the ground is a quite useful phone, but not just the phone, is the make which produce quite resistant phones, Siemens does very well on that field. Moreover, nowadays, with the new photography technology mobile phones seem to enlarge again and it is then when Siemens C45 recovers its breath to go on surviving thanks to the advantage that gives him the fact it is quite tiny. I think it has the right size, smaller phones get me upset as you loose then more frequently and you even have problems to dial or right...

C45. The phone packed with features

Advantages: Small and Lightweight

...For those of you that may have read my opinion on the Ericsson A1018s mobile phone, I have now traded in 'the brick' and purchased a brand new, state of the art Siemens C45. The phone is small (4" x 1.5"), don’t know what that is in new money!. Currently I am connected to the Vodaphone network and have so far found the reception to be of extremely good quality. The 'standby' time for the C45 is 300 hours, with a talk time of 200 minutes. Three games are built into the phone, although it's not a good idea to play these, as they are very addictive!! WAP is also included with this phone, although I personally have found it very difficult to use. Perhaps more helpful instructions regarding WAP access could have been included with the phone. Another downside is that perhaps the buttons are a little too close...

My lovely little mobile

...I recieved my Siemens C45 pay as you go mobile in October 2002 let me tell you all about it. APPEARANCE It is silver in colour and it fits snugly in the palm of my hand, the back pushes up quite easily to access the battery and sim card, it is extremely light weight. I love the size and weight of it as it easily fits in my pocket or handbag without taking up too much space. PHONEBOOK The phonebook is easily accessible as there is a button on the phone that leads you straight to it, it holds 100 names and phone numbers you can also put your numbers into 4 groups which are: VIP, LEISURE, OFFICE and FAMILY. There is also an own numbers section which holds 3 numbers of your choice, I put my own mobile number in there to start with so that it was easy to access when I needed to give my number to anyone. Can you see 45?

Advantages: Indestructible
Disadvantages: Only stores 15 text messages

...the balloons as they move up the screen before they go out of picture. - 6/10 The phone also has access to the internet, but I never have tried this feature as I can't afford to spend money on mobile phone internet coverage, when I have the internet at home. This phone came with a Vodafone SIM, and can take a few of the other brands of SIM, but at 12p a text (reduced to 9p after you make 3 texts in a day) you can't really complain at the price. The buttons are fairly responsive, so it isn't very difficult to type out a message or dial a phone number on it. Battery life - well it ain't great, only lasting to the end of the day despite being charged overnight. This may be due to its age, as I don't remember it being quite as bad as this back when I first bought the phone. In short, I'd say it's quite a good cheap phone, albeit not fancy...

The ducks are the best bit

Advantages: A small, nice looking phone with a good range of features - and how many mobile phones have chains of ducks walking across the screen?
Disadvantages: sometimes slightly slow and, for Nokia familiars, a bit dificult to use.

...I haved owned and used a variety of different phones throughout the past 3 years and unfortunately for my exasperated parents become a bit of a mobile maniac. I become quite quickly bored with whatever phone I may own and move on to saving up for the next one rather soon after buying each one. With the Siemens C45, however, I have so far shown no such impatience. OK, so the Siemens C45 was not my first choice. I was besotted with the Samsung T100 and the Motorola V70, with coloured screens and twirly bits and gadgets galore. However, these proved slightly on the expensive side, and I am not financially gifted, so I set my sights a little lower. And I wasn't disappointed. The Siemens C45 is around £80 on Pay As You Go, a relatively cheap price as mobiles go, and with it are several features. Firstly, it is a small phone but...

Nice Change from a Nokia.

Advantages: It's not a Nokia. MP3 Player
Disadvantages: Fascia scratches.

...'s size can make the buttons rather fiddly, infact my girlfriend at the time returned her Siemens C45 (much to my relief as they looked identical) as she said she couldn't operate the buttons. I've got rather stubby fingers myself though, and I've learnt to cope quickly enough, so I wouldn't let that put you off, but again, sobriety will help with using the controls. The MP3 player is superb, coming with a 32mb memory card which can fit around 70 minutes worth of music without too much distortion. The mp3 player doubles up as the handsfree kit and it's quite nice having two ear pieces for conversations in noisy places. The only drawback for the MP3 player is that it really drains the battery time, so be aware that if you want to actually use your phone it will make sense to take a personal stereo along with you. But it's nice to have music...

Me Mobbie and Calvin...

Advantages: They all live happily ever after...
Disadvantages: Mobbie dies....

...it was not a pretty sight. The women were in tears and Alex was distraught. ?Aaaaaaawwwwww? I hear you cry! Mobbie was in pieces. There he lay on the floor, dead. His case in pieces, his face (screen ? for you un-imaginative few!) bleeding (the ink coming out!). He took one last look at the world and faded away?. After several days of mourning Alex finally came to terms with the death of Mobbie, and made a heart felt decision, he needed a new Mobbie. So off he trotted into town and he reluctantly wondered into the Carphone Warehouse. He got talking to an old coonskin of Mobbie, the Siemens C45.
