...Not long ago, I wrote a review of my BT Synergy Quad phone set, stating how happy I was with it. And I was happy with it, although I did state that the battery was starting to give me problems periodically. Avoid the Siemens S455 Gigaset

Advantages: Many features, "pretty" good voice quality
Disadvantages: Too numerous to mention

...I now have my second S455 Gigaset. The first one had a speaker phone, which worked intermittently. Before the phone could be sent (at my expense) to Texas for repair, customer service had to be called to get a necessary number. More than a week and four calls resulted in nothing. I filed a formal complaint with the BBB and the number was finally receiver via email. The following comments apply to both S455 cordless phones: The keypad is small and the keys are close together, neither of which is convenient for a man. To make matters worse, the keys require considerable pressure to activate. Only some of the keys are lighted, which means that they must be identified using normal room light or by key position on the pad. The instructions are vary badly written, apparently be someone with only a clausal understanding with the English...

It's a cordless life for me with the Siemens CS385!

Advantages: It's got all the features I want from a phone
Disadvantages: None

Hands free and a chirpy ringtone

...I decided it was time to replace my home phone and I wanted something that came complete with an answering machine, a second handset, had a reasonably good range and didn't cost too much. So with that in mind I went for a browse around my local Comet store fully expecting to come home with another Binatone. The trouble is that when you get to the store and look around there is a bewildering range of phones from different manufacturers which range in price from the modest to the vastly overpriced. I did look at the Binatones (I have had them before and liked them) but this time they had nothing which really took my eye and then I spotted a large display with the Siemens Gigaset AL285 on the 'end' of the product island. SuperG Wireless USB Adaptor

Advantages: Small, easy to use and relatively stable
Disadvantages: Poor support and old drivers

...I purchased the Siemens Gigaset USB Adaptor 108 from Play.com for £7.99 including P&P. An absolute bargain when you consider what lesser devices retail for. This USB adaptor supports the 108Mbps SuperG wireless standard, and is backwards compatible with a, b and regular G networks too. It supports WEP, WPA and WPA2. The unit is very small, about the size of a box of matches. It has, what appears to be, a shielded cable about a metre long with a standard USB plug on the end. There is a little aerial which folds down, though this doesn't really make it any more convenient to carry round. There are two green LEDs to tell you the power is connected and to show wireless network activity. The unit is light, but feels like it's well made. ...My Savvy died on me beep beep it went and waved goodbye with it’s little pixilated hand, it’s enough to bring a tear to my eye….
