...This is a very tasty, somewhat hoppy pale ale from the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in the USA. It is the most popular beer produced by the brewery. I bought a couple of bottles from my local Morrisons as they seem to have a nice selection of different beers there that aren't available elsewhere. I paid about £1.50 each for a couple of small 350ml stubby bottles. It is 5.6% Alc. There is a thin layer of sediment in the bottle due to the beer being bottle conditioned. Bottle conditioned beers are generally of a much better quality than comercial beers which are filtered, force carbonated and contain no live yeast. This sediment is actually live yeast, so you could use it for home brewing if you wanted, I do. But otherwise you can just swirl this into the beer before pouring and it adds to the flavour. Sierra Nevada, Andalucia, Spain.

Advantages: Warm sun and snow in January and February. Price over others in Europe.
Disadvantages: Lack of snow in April. Not enough ski area. Not testing skiing.

The Sierra Nevada mountain range is high (3470m), which it needs to be considering its position in Europe. It has the most southerly ski slopes in Western Europe and the sunniest. It is an easy drive on a good toll-free motorway in a hire car and is well signposted when you reach the outskirts of Granada. Granada has a small airport. The resort itself is quite small compared to most in France and Switzerland and there are only about 3 good hotels, although most people use the multitude of apartments, or stay in Granada overnight. HIGH SIERRA

Advantages: Tasty, complex and overflowing with hops
Disadvantages: It's taken 20 years for it to be readily available in the UK

...Until quite recently, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was one of those beers that I'd heard good things about but had never managed to find. ...Well, I don?t know if all of you are aware, but not too long ago it was Monday. It may seem a mundane event to some of you. However, for me it was cause for a celebration (not worth explaining, I guess). I set out seeking the perfect beverage to celebrate the end of a rather frustrating weekend when, to my amazement, I saw Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. ?How appropriate,? I thought. I was obligated. A review I have written in the past gives a history of the company, so it would seem awfully redundant of me to reiterate it here. However, it is interesting to note that while, they do not directly advertise this beer as an IPA, on their website one may notice that this beer has won several awards in the IPA category. They come as standard with metzlar tyres, which are satisfactory and then some, and numerous suprises which i will come to later. The first thing that got me about this bike was the looks, it's tasty, and also, almost perfectly symetreical, they even added an extra horn, so that it would be symetrical, and this give your a good loud horn as well. It get's good fuel consumption, although that's a good thing when you conisder the small tank size, personally i find it irritating. The italians have never been renowned for good electrics, and i find from time to time the left indicator plays up, however it has a very well lit dashboard for when you are doing 70mph (cough) in the dark, and you can see it easily, it even has...

Thankfully 5000 examples were needed for homologation into Group A rally and by 1986 the car went into regular production. The Cosworth-developed YBB engine was a Pinto-based block with a Cosworth aluminum head. It was equipped with an intercooled Garret AirResearch TO3 turbocharger that delivered 9psi of boost, resulting in just over 200 horsepower. While for a road car this power was exceptional, especially given the price, in motor sport it was not ample. Given the fact that the car was also rear-wheel-drive and suffered from turbo lag, it is no surprise it didn't take any outstanding victories in Group A. My love for sierra's!!

Advantages: Goodlooking, cheap, reliable car!
Disadvantages: Alot of abused, rustbuckets out there!!

...Since I've been driving, I've drove alot of different vehicles. I have only ever owned Sierra's. I have had 2 to date. My 1st being an 1.8GL. Had my 1st crash in this one and she still came up trumps! But in the end piston rings went and smoked liked a trooper. She'd gone 145,000miles. I had a new engine in her, but typical ford, the bodywork started to heavily rust. Allowing damp into the back of the car. Hence it was time to kiss goodbye to my 1st car. The new engine is still probably going! Ha! The good news was, I moved onto bigger and better sierra. My current car, 2.0iGLS. J reg. For the1st couple of years, I only had to maintain her. After that kept having a pressure problem which in the end ending up by blowing the head gasket. So once again, resulted in my having a recon engine installed into my car.
