Advantages: Good value for money, versatile

I had previously used a Canon 80-200 mm which I found a bit too limiting at the long end of the range - an excellent lens, but not quite right for the job. Creates unique shots, great for landscapes and, oddly close ups

Advantages: HSM, DC, great build quality, great fun
Disadvantages: light fall off can be an issue

...I bought this lens as my focal range was limited to 18mm at the widest end, and had always wanted a good quality super wide angle lens without the rediculous distortion you get from cheap bolt on imports. I opted for the Sigma 10 - 20mm f/4 - 5.6 EX DC HSM and am very happy with my choice. The first thing I noticed was it is heavier than I expected. This super wide lens had great build quality...

Sigma AF 70-300mm f4-f5.6 APO DG Macro

Advantages: Decent quality on a budget but only for APS-C digital SLR's.
Disadvantages: Really quite poor when used with full-frame digital SLR's.
