...I bought this on impulse 3 days after the birth of my second son when my eldest was just eighteen months old. I had spent hours trawling the net and several shops looking for the "perfect" double without success and intended this as a stop gap but actually it met my needs for many months. With a stylish black and silver colour scheme it is very smart to look at and at 76cm quite narrow for a side by side pushchair, it fitted easily through most shop doors and fitted through my front door but only just! At around 10kg it is not too heavy to lift in and out of a car boot and the umbrella fold is surprisingly compact, it has locking clips to keep it in place once folded. The shopping baskets are on the small side especially if you use one to stow the raincover but I found I was able to hang a change bag from the handles without any...

Silver Cross 3D for Dissapointed.

Advantages: Fits in the boot.
Disadvantages: Doesn't fit baby for long though!

...I bought this pram because I wanted a pram and pushchair in one that would last until my baby was walking that would fit in my car boot. I thought silver cross would be top quality being a well known brand having years of experience and knowledge of what works. It seems that this pram is just made to look good and hasn't had much practical testing done on it. It looks really stylish but that doesn't actually count for much. At first it takes a bit of studying the instructions and fiddling about to work out how to transform it into the different positions. It folds up and down okay after a bit of practise. The process of turning it from a pram to a pushchair is not quick though. So far it has fit into all the car boots I have put it in. I would only buy this if you can tell that you are going to have a really small child...

Stockists - This was difficult, I found that the main baby stores didnt tend to stock Silver Cross products, and those that did only seemed to have one style available which was the 3D system, not the one I wanted. I searched online and found that John Lewis stocked them, I immediately went to my nearest John Lewis but was disappointed to find that they sell absolutely everything as separates rather than a complete system, so what should cost about £300 ends up amounting to about £500 with all the extras like raincover and moses basket stand. Again it was back to the internet and I found that Boots sold it however it was out of stock and after checking with my local store they confirmed it was only available to buy online and they were unsure when more stock would be available. ...My wife & I decided to purchase the Freeway (in pistachio) because of it's sleek design and the large, comfortable & snug sleeping area for baby. Silver Cross is of a name historically admired and trusted in the pram world. The classic large wheeled model is the one that generally springs to mind when this famous brand name is mentioned. However, Silver Cross have now entered the modern age. The chassis element of this system is just that - a chassis, & is useless in itself without the pram body element. The reason I mention this is that the body is totally detachable from the chassis for transportation. This is unlike some other travel systems, where the pram and chassis are part of the same unit and fold together when not in use.
