I put it away during my teenage years and forgot about it until Christmas 2007 when I watched the BBC adaptation with Emma Watson. I went to Indonesia and got the film on knock-off DVD, and immediately after watching I rang home to get my parents to order me a copy. It was a great welcome home. The book opens with 'Garnie' moving into a huge mansion, filled with fossils. She and her nurse (Nana) are moving in with her uncle. Size isn't everything

Advantages: Nice appearance, reasonable power, good to park
Disadvantages: Can be prone to stalling, although that might be my bad driving

...Any owner of this car should find it extremely hard to find faults with. The smart design, the good steering, the ease of use- I don't pretend to be a car expert, but even I can tell this is a quality vehicle. In my opinion it also looks much more expensive than it actually ism which is definitely a plus point. My own car is the silver version of the Clio, with a few additions such as alloy wheels- but even without these the Clio would be a car I would be proud to drive. It is also fairly easy to park due to its small and compact design- I have to laugh when I see people in huge, posh cars driving round and round car parks looking for a space big enough! :) The Clio has a surprising amount of power for such a small car. This, added to its ease of parking and its attractive look, clearly shows that size isn't everything!...

Worth its weight in silver?

...Arctic Silver 5 (AS5) is one of the most recommended TIM (thermal interface materials) by enthusiasts. Its made using actual silver, which is pretty cool, and it does look pretty cool when it comes out of the tube. Applying the TIM The ideal way to put TIM on the CPU is to put on a small amount, say the size of a small grain of rice, and rub it in. The excess is cleaned off and then an even smaller amount put on and left - when the Heatsink is put on, it is meant to be 'wiggled', meaning the TIM gets spread evenly. However, AS5 is very thick which means it is hard to spread, and most of the TIM ends up in a very thick layer in the middle while there is little on the edges, which is not good, as the IHS on the CPU (the metal thing) means that the heat is meant to be transferred evenly, not just in the centre! Advantages: Goes and carries everything, everywhere.
Disadvantages: Not quickly....

...rare I travel at peak times, so my figures may be higher than others. Tyres are expensive, but go buy a set of General AT2's for it, yes they will set you back over £700 for the 5, but they will last 70,000 miles. Makes it a bit more palettable compared to 20,000 miles for the Pirelli's. The other advantage mine has, is the 7 seats.Saves taking 2 cars at times, who say's they can't save you money? Kids love the rear most seats, especially if you have the extra radio points in the back. Over all, if you have a use for this type of vehicle, then you could do a lot worse than the Discovery. Jap stuff breaks down too, and the cost of parts is no where near theirs. I think it's a fantastic vehicle, a true all rounder....
