Advantages: Some decent 1980s style stadium rock songs
Disadvantages: Some really dire lyrics.

...rock track, with the guitar to the forefront, but it's not as catchy as some of the others so far and has that dark influence that sets is apart slightly. The fourth track is my favourite, the storming pop-rock sound of "You Brought a Knife to a Gunfight", which is supposedly based on a true story. It's a slightly softer track than some of the others, with a Thunder or Motley Crue style sing along chorus and a great guitar riff. This is stadium pop-rock at its best and whenever I hear this track, I can't help but think that if Stone Gods had been around twenty years ago, they would have been huge. There's quite a change of pace for the fifth track, the folk-rock sounding "Magdalen Street". It's not quite slow enough to be a ballad as such, but it's a much gentler track with a folk influence that has a slight feel of Thin Lizzy, or Jon...

The Stone Gods debut album is a terrific, well balanced rocker.

Advantages: A new, clean and harder sound, great lyrics, and solid riffs
Disadvantages: Not a mainstream album, if you lived through the eightees - you've heard it all before

...will sate the thirst of anyone looking for modern rock bands, easily comparable with Airbourne and The Answer, the other great rock bands of this decade. They already have a regular spot at the Download Festival. The Darkness may have come to a sticky end, but without the media hype and excessive lifestyle, the Stone Gods are sure to remain a mainstay of the rock genre, and maybe one day their hard work will pay off....

Meet the stone family

Advantages: Easy to watch and an array of well known actors
Disadvantages: It isn't the most interesting film you'll ever watch

...I bought the family stone for one reason only and that was because the cast was a mix of well known faces! I know I should look for more than this but, being a Sex and the City fan I am always keen to watch anything with Sarah Jessica Parker in! Along with a variety of others who I have seen in other films and enjoyed then it was surely to be a winner wasn't it? Released in 2005 the film was written and directed by Thomas Bezucha. The story: The stone family are very close knit and celebrate Christmas together every year. When the favourite son, Everett, decides to bring his girlfriend Meredith with him to meet his family it doesn't quite go to plan! He has plans to ask his mother for his grandmother's ring to propose to Meredith but, his family pretty much take an instant dislike to her and find Meredith to be too uptight...

Silver Tower

Advantages: Definitely action-packed! (+) a good, shorter read (+) enjoyable (+) not typical characters
Disadvantages: takes a little while to get going (-) slightly dated (-) limited space/science knowledge in parts

His novels have gained him several awards, probably the most notable being New York Times Bestseller! He studied Western European History at Penn State University and had a commission in the US Air Force in 1978. He was awarded many times during his time in the armed forces. This is probably related to his famous hobby and love of space and science! He currently lives in Lake Tahoe, Nevada with his wife and son and even owns a private jet! BASIC DETAILS ABOUT THE BOOK I only own the paperback version of Silver Tower; it is 400 pages in length which, in my opinion, is a sufficient amount for something you just want to pick up and read as a very short-term 'project', so to speak. Howling Stones.

...Howling Stones. I am a huge Alan dean Foster fan and here is one of his books from his Commonwealth series. You are transported to the lush tropical world of Senisran ( a bit like the Maldives but over the whole planet ) where the islands are all paradises and the seas are vivid greens and blues. The two main characters to this story are Pulickel and Fawn who have been tasked with the job of getting the natives of this world to sign a treaty with the commonwealth. The natives however are unconcerned with the treaty and seem naively unaware of the protection a treaty with the commonwealth could provide from other more malevolent and untrustworthy species who also live in and around the universes. chief among these are the Ann, an insectoid species equal and on par with the commonwealth but a very agressive species...

Advantages: Pop music with a soul edge, which makes a nice change
Disadvantages: Too many ballads

...rolling stones shine a light this compact disc was performed by the rolling stones at the beacon theatre in new york. i believe that not all the songs contained on the compact disc were all taken from the film; i think that some of the songs were taken from different live events from the bands most recent american tour. the album has two discs and contains twenty two tracks, two of which are non musical as you will find out. 1 jumping jack flash 4:22 -being the first track on this compact disc is of much interest as it has always been one of my favourites. in the track the rolling stones are introduced to the stadium by the master of ceremonies, and later martin scorsese is heard saying "first song". the track begins by the introduction guitar notes from keith richards and seconds later some soft drum beats from charlie watts...
