Meet the Urbies! The Sims of the city.

Advantages: Fun, addictive and great clothes and music.
Disadvantages: Lags sometimes.

...Age rating: 12+ 1 oe 2 players 8MB of memory card space. The ever popular simulation game the Sims has now created The Urbz. The game revolves around fashion and reputation, your Urbie must reach the top of the social ladder and knock the top urb Darius off it. Like all of the other Sims games you can chose what your Urb looks like and what their name is. There is a enormous selection of hairstyles, body shapes and make-up. The selection of clothes given to you changes depending on which area you are currently in. (Example: Central Station's clothes are mainly punk while Diamond Heights are modelling outfits.) A meter will appear at the bottom left corner, your reputation meter and your Urbs needs are there. Your Urbs needs must be met otherwise there might be a little accident (especially if your character needs the toilet...

Build your ideal city on the DS - SimCity Creator

Advantages: Great game, working through different periods of time keeps your interest up
Disadvantages: Limited by the size of the screen, sometimes a bit difficult to use

...SimCity Creator is a game for the Nintendo DS. The game is ideal for those who like the tycoon and sim series of games, in this case seeing a city which you develop changes throughout the generations. I remember getting SimCity for the Amiga over twenty years ago, and it was my favourite game for many months. A version of SimCity has been released for the DS before, but this version is less financial based and more based on building through different periods. You can choose between playing in two different ways, either playing the free play mode or the challenge mode. The free play mode lets you build your cities from any era, whilst the challenge mode gives you a storyline so that you can play cities working through the different periods of history. The challenge mode is the only to go for first, as this allows you to unlock buildings...

Build your own city on the Nintendo DS - Sim City

Advantages: Very addictive, brings back memories of the Amiga days of playing this game!
Disadvantages: Controls can be fiddly, only one save game point

...This review is for the Nintendo DS game, Sim City, developed and published by Electronic Arts. The game is based on the classic game for the Amiga, where you have to build your own city and satisfy your population. I have happy memories of playing this game on the Commodore Amiga in the early 1990s, where you have to build residential, commercial and industrial zones so that business and individuals prosper. You then build electricity lines, roads, railways, police stations, fire stations, harbours and airports and so on, to help develop your city. Although further editions of the game were published, the original game remains very close to my heart! Given my memories of the original Amiga version, it was interesting to see what differences the console version would have. You can either take over eight different cities which are...

Lost in Sim City

Advantages: Playability
Disadvantages: Addictive

...*** THE SHORT VERSION (FOR THOSE IN A HURRY - AND BECAUSE I APPEAR TO HAVE WITTERED ON SOMEWHAT!) *** The latest in a succession of successful "God" games based on creating and running your own city, Sim City 4 is definitely a cut above it's previous incarnations. It maintains the same addictive qualities, but has managed to eradicate some of the slightly more irritating aspects of the game. It is beautiful to look at, fairly easy to pick up and highly playable. The features and levels of the games have expanded, enabling you to appreciate the game on both a large (regional) and a small (individual person) level. It will take up masses of space and drain your memory, and small elements of the game can still become irritating, but on the whole it is fantastic fun and will keep you amused for ages. Comes with the delawney seal...

SimCity - The king of simulation games

Advantages: Extremely realistic and has lots of things to keep you busy for a long time.
Disadvantages: Can get very repetitive every time you start a new city.

...Background Information SimCity was first released in 1989. It was the first computer game simulation to allow the creation of a city and its inner workings. Players could build their own utopias of whatever size they wished, i.e. a small fishing village or a giant metropolis. Since then, however, new, improved games have followed carrying on the legacy of Will Wright?s SimCity. The new improvements that come with SimCity 4 are: the region screen (which is similar to the neighbourhood screen if you?ve ever played The Sims) where you can select a plot of land to build on, God Mode and My Sim Mode (more about these below), and the ability to add real world landmarks to your city. --------------------------------------------------------------- God Mode God Mode helps to add a whole new level of customisation to SimCity. Among...

The best SimCity yet.

Advantages: Amazing detail, endless possibilities, addictive, brilliant.
Disadvantages: Can at times be very hard. Not for the gamer who wants action.

...The SimCity series, like Civilisation, is one of those few series of games which can claim to be truly great. For those of you who aren't familiar with the genre, in SimCity you become the (unelected) Mayor of a city, and must build roads, schools, hospitals, police stations, tourist traps, airports, railways, and so on and so forth ad infinitum in order to encourage residents and businesses to move in. Let's start with what will be familiar to players of earlier versions of SimCity: you still build by zoning Residential, Industrial, or Commercial (though now you can zone farmland too, instead of just hoping a farm would turn up), the old favourites are still here like the Mayor's House, the Statue etc, Landmarks (though now you have to pay for them) and so on. There are now two sizes for lots of buildings that were formerly only...

Sim City

Advantages: Great fun to watch the properties and city developing
Disadvantages: Takes a while to really get going

...I have only played this game briefly on the PC, not sure which version it was as was a long while ago. So after many people saying that it was a good game I bought it for myself. At first I found it a little bit confusing putting in all the electricity and plumbing and working out what types of industrial and residential areas to put in and where. Once you have got that just sit back and watch you city grow. In an overview this game is where you build your own city from just a plot of land. You have to control all the taxes and electricity supplies. It is a very detailed game, which once you have worked out what is best to place, first is quite addictive. The controls are very easy to understand but I always find myself running out of money. The DS version also includes a 'Save the City' mode where you have to restore a city that has...

SIMS IN THE CITY

Advantages: Easy to play, addictive
Disadvantages: Long loading times

...This game, unlike the other Sim games before it, is set in the city instead of a neighbourhood. BACKGROUND / GAMEPLAY Your character starts their career in one of the games nine districts, each of which is designed around a particular type of urban subculture, for example, skaters, bikers, punk, goths, ravers, etc. You have a set of goals to complete in each area but your main goal is to improve your reputation. You have to successfully socialize with other urbz / sims which increases a reputation meter that, when filled, makes your character more famous. As you fill up this meter and complete specific goals you can unlock access to new areas and social skills. A good addition to this game, that you don't get in the previous Sims games, is the interactive jobs. When your character is working you...

SimCity4 Deluxe

Advantages: Its fun, long lasting & gives you long lasting satisfaction you made it work.
Disadvantages: Gives you a h eadache & time flys

...gig Kingston DDR2 2x 250 HD SATA 1x 80 WD IDE Onboard sound Now, on this spec, the game runs very nice, detailed & colourful. Overall the game is fantastic, although I just can?t for the life of me make a city to make profit. So helpful hints welcome :0) For the person who likes a challenge. A long lasting game that your actions change what will happen & playing multiplayer with friends. This has got to be one of the best family fun games yet. I?m a hard line gamer, I love FPS, Strategy & role playing games? but I really enjoy playing this. You have to build a city. Make profit or you get kicked out. Keep your citizens happy, in work & healthy... Make sure you have enough travel, electricity, water & parks or they will leave your city. Then you have finances which I hate lol. If you tried any SimCity version. You will love...

Your guide to Sim City

Advantages: Lots of options to keep you going.
Disadvantages: The graphics are a bit old.

...Although I was already familiar with the Sim City games, already having Sim city classic that came with the computer, Sim city 2000 was the first ever P.C game I bought. I was most excited about seeing Sim City in 3D, which there wasn't on Sim city classic. It was a long 3 years ago since I bought it so I can’t remember the price. I can't even remember installing it! Sim city 2000 puts you in position of being town mayor (or more like God) watching a small village grow into a thriving metropolis. But that’s if you’re successful of course. The biggest problem is money; I usually run out of money by 50 years which stops me from extending my city. At the beginning you must name your city then choose between easy, medium and hard. You start with £20,000 for easy, £10,000 for Medium and -£5,000 for hard. A city needs...
