Highly Attractive
Advantages: Visually inventive, great performances and a witty script
Disadvantages: Could be too strong for some
...The Rules of Attraction
I am a great fan of Bret Easton Ellis. In my teens ?American Psycho? was my favourite book and that?s probably why I was so disappointed with Mary Hallan?s film adaptation. Perhaps it?s because I haven?t read ?The Rules of Attraction? that I found Roger Avary?s interpretation of Ellis? work such a visceral delight.
I should start off by saying this is not a film for kids, the faint-hearted or the easily offended (the same can probably be said for my review). So if you?re a Daily Mail kind of a guy I?d just stop reading now cos you ain?t gonna like it.
The pre-credits sequence pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the film and neatly sums up its central elements. It immediately introduces us to Avary?s visual inventiveness and conscious ?film? style. We watch the same series of events three times, from...

Delighting guests every single day. Mandarin Oriental Singapore.
Advantages: Great location. Excellent service that isn't too Singaporean! New rooms with excellent features!
Disadvantages: You will pay for the pleasure!
...my two night stay in Singapore via the hotel directly, however you can book online should you need to. I booked a club room for £125 a night and also requested the limousine transfer service from Changi airport.
The hotel would send one of their cars for £50 return to Changi for a Mercedes-Benz S Class transfer. The perfect way to get to and from the hotel after a long flight!
Arrival
Upon arrival at Changi Airport I cleared customs to be greeted by the Mandarin Oriental driver waiting with my name on a signboard. He eagerly took my bags and led me to the waiting car. As we drove into Singapore he offered lots of top tourist tips for my stay and gave me guidance on the attractions nearby to the hotel. The MO is situated in Marina Bay near the city?s major financial district and commands brilliant views over the skyscrapers...

Uniquely Singapore!
Advantages: Shopping, Cleanliness, Nice People
Disadvantages: HEAT!!!
...Uniquely Singapore!! This is this city's catch phrase. It can be seen on signs as soon as you walk off the plane the moment when you do depart and they wish you a found farewell as the plane departs this fine city.
I am not sure what I thought I would expect from Singapore. However, whatever it was did not even compare to what I found in this spectacular city!
Upon arriving at the Changi airport, one becomes completely in awe of the airport which supports it's own stopover hotel, free movie theatre and spa! This is not to mention the vast amounts of shops and restaurants.
~Immigration~
On departing the plane, you make your way through the beautiful corridors filled with live plants and flowers of spectacular beauty, to the immigration lines. As the airline had not handed out immigration cards before arrival in Singapore...

Budget Holiday In Singapore
Advantages: Safe, A good public transport and accomodation
Disadvantages: the local people are not so friendly, it is very strict
...Singapore is well known as the fine city in the world. It is located in South East Asia.
Arriving in Changi Airport, you will be amazed by the arrangement and the cleanness inside. Yup, Of Course, you can not throw the rubbish anywhere you like. If you did it, I am sure an office will come across you and fine you. So be careful.
If you are a shopaholic, I am very sure that you will like Singapore city. There are a lot huge Shopping center there. But, be careful with your credit card. You might be over limit.
Orchad Road is the most well know area in Singapore. There are a lot huge shopping center, food point and hotel. However, if you go for budget holiday, I can suggest you not to shop at orchad shopping center. The price of the items, are a bit higher compare to the others shopping center, but of course you will get a very high...

Romance and laughter: Animal Attraction
Advantages: Ashley Judd and a great cast
Disadvantages: Bit slow at times
...Animal Attraction is a hilarious romantic comedy starring the brilliant Ashley Judd and is based on the novel Animal Husbandry written by Laura Zigman.
The star of the film is Jane Goodale (Judd) who is a talent scout on an a US talk show and as such she is slightly obsessed with what makes people (and in particular the male species!) tick. Introduce the character Ray played by Greg Kinnear whom Goodale falls head over heel in love with and when he dumps her to go back to his old girlfriend Jane Goodale assumes an alter ego and write a startlingly frank newspaper column accusing all men of being cheats and showing how all men assume the traits of animal in the dating (and mating game!) The film then charts Jane Goodale's ups and downs as she struggles to come to terms with the fact that she has been dumped but is soon rescued by...

More distraction than attraction
Advantages: Good actors
Disadvantages: Average and unoriginal in all respects
...Audrey Woods and Daniel Rafferty are the two top divorce lawyers in New York. As soon as they meet they hate each other, but circumstances conspire to bring them together and they slowly warm to each other. Whilst brokering a divorce between a philandering pop star and his odious wife they go to Ireland to divvy up the assets. After a night of drunken revelry, they wake to find themselves married. All Audrey wants to do is get an annulment, but Daniel wants to make a go of it. And that?s where the fun really begins.
Director Peter Howitt is responsible for one of my favourite guilty film pleasures of the past few years; ?Sliding Doors?. It was hardly the most original rom-com the world has ever seen, but it?s very enjoyable and so I keep coming back to it. So I was hoping for a similar treat in the shape of the ?Laws of Attraction...

Singapore Girl
Advantages: Optimal service, comfort, new aircraft
Disadvantages: None
...I had the pleasure of travelling twice with them. Both of these were on their long haul flights from London to Singapore. The last of them was in February 2000.
There are so many little things that sets this airline above the others.
The main emphasis of Singapore Airlines has always been on service. Off course many airlines offer you good service but what about those little things that you can only experience if you have flown with them.
For example on my flight, I was in Economy Class and the night was upon us. Most of the passengers were fast asleep with their pillows stuck under their heads and blankets pulled up over their shoulders. I personally cannot sleep on a flight. There was a passenger on my left and a couple of rows down, whose blanket had dropped from his shoulders and onto the floor. One of the stewardesses...

Singapore Airline Crap
Advantages: What advantages? Should be renamed the NoStar Alliance.
Disadvantages: Too many to list.
...As many of you know, I am a frequent flyer on several of the major airlines. My travels have taken me to many parts of the world on several different airlines, some good, some bad, some not worth mentioning.
This is an extremely long review. So, you have been warned!
Personal History
=
The last time I flew with Singapore Airlines (SIA) was more than 10 years ago. On that fateful flight, the plane was delayed many hours, due to 'unforeseen technical problems'. They boarded , and unboarded (alighted) us many many times and did not even have the courtesy to provide the passengers with refreshments.
On top of the delays, there was the food poisoning incident when I flew with them from Hong Kong to Singapore. Did I mention they are also part of the Star Alliance? Earlier last year, I wrote about Air Canada and how...

The Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore
Advantages: Nice food and delectable facilities
Disadvantages: none
...The Pan Pacific Hotel is one if the finest hotels in Singapore. Three shopping malls are located in the vicinity of the hotel, including Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. You will also take 20 minutes to arrive at the hotel from Changi Airport. The hotel has 778 well-designated rooms and suites, which they themselves, provide extravagant views of the city and habour while 26 meeting venues are open for various kinds of events.
Hotel guests may like the facilities---tennis courts, a spa, gymnasium and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is also well-known for its award-winning restaurants including the Hai Tien Lo's delicate Cantonese cuisines, Keyaki Japanese restaurant for authentic Japanese dishes, Global Kitchen for international gourmet presentations, Brunch for all...

Singapore Airlines - A pleasure to travel with
Advantages: Great seat pitch, value for money, modern aircraft, polite staff, amenity kit
Disadvantages: None
...*~*How I came to be going to Singapore*~*
As a bit of a competition player I tend to drop lucky in our office when the Airline's are offering incentives to agents in order for us to sing their praises to customers, so when they launched the Boeing 777 from Manchester they were offering flights for just £77 return to Singapore a real bargain so I decided to pick up one of these flights.
My colleague who I was good friends with decided that she wanted to come as well so we both applied to take a friend with us and it was decided that we would go in September we received our fax back to say that we had been successful and decided to make plans for our stay.
This was at the time where SARS was just coming to an end and Tourism was pretty low in Singapore I was all for travelling over there but my friend started to have doubts when...
