Singapore Airlines personal experience.

Advantages: Great in-flight service and entertainment.
Disadvantages: Sometimes more expensive than other competititor airlines.

...I flew with Singapore Airlines almost five years ago, From Manchester to SIngapore, then from Singapore on to the final destination, Melbourne, and the same but vice versa for the return trip. Although there was a long queue at the check-in desk, the queue was down in no time and we were through no hassle whatsoever, except a friend of mine has scissors in a first aid kit she had, which they then removed (this showed that good security measures are in place) and then on we went. In-flight service and entertainment were top-drawr, anytime you wanted a drink, or anything else, all you had to do was ask, you had a good selection of different movies, music, tv shows to choose from. Overall my experience with Singapore Airlines was superb, I would not hesitate to use them again if they came up on a route I wanted to fly....

Little India, Singapore - What an experience

...I travelled to Singapore in September and having worked in the travel industry for the past 4 years had done a lot of research on exactly what I wanted to get from my holiday. Little India is a small area of Singapore where the streets have market stalls, small grocers stores and temples, basically it feels like you are in India as you walk around. After studying a tourism map of Singapore I thought it would be great to spend an afternoon walking through little India and learning about their culture. Through the streets were music stores with traditional hand made instruments, and gorgeous clothing stores that made outfits from scratch with your design and your choice of material it was lovely.. that was until we went to the indoor market and we got absolutely harrassed, each market stall wanted you to buy from them to come in...

Review of Little India, Singapore

Uniquely Singapore!

Advantages: Shopping, Cleanliness, Nice People
Disadvantages: HEAT!!!

...Uniquely Singapore!! This is this city's catch phrase. It can be seen on signs as soon as you walk off the plane the moment when you do depart and they wish you a found farewell as the plane departs this fine city. I am not sure what I thought I would expect from Singapore. However, whatever it was did not even compare to what I found in this spectacular city! Upon arriving at the Changi airport, one becomes completely in awe of the airport which supports it's own stopover hotel, free movie theatre and spa! This is not to mention the vast amounts of shops and restaurants. ~Immigration~ On departing the plane, you make your way through the beautiful corridors filled with live plants and flowers of spectacular beauty, to the immigration lines. As the airline had not handed out immigration cards before arrival in Singapore...

Review of Singapore

Delighting guests every single day. Mandarin Oriental Singapore.

Advantages: Great location. Excellent service that isn't too Singaporean! New rooms with excellent features!
Disadvantages: You will pay for the pleasure!

Wasabi Bistro is a Mandarin Oriental staple and provides traditional Japanese food and excellent sushi selections. I have never eaten here so cannot give you any more than that! Axis bar and lounge serves a selection of cocktails and alcohol in a modern contemporary environment. The perfect way to start or end your evening! Arguably one of the best restaurants in Singapore is the franchised Moreton?s steakhouse. Bringing the finest steaks to you all the way from Chicago, Moretons flies in the meat and vegetables from the states and gives you the true USA steakhouse experience. The prices are expensive with a meal for one coming in at around £60 considering you will be paying to fly the raw materials in which I know isn?t very environmentally friendly but...

...I had the pleasure of travelling twice with them. Both of these were on their long haul flights from London to Singapore. The last of them was in February 2000. There are so many little things that sets this airline above the others. The main emphasis of Singapore Airlines has always been on service. Off course many airlines offer you good service but what about those little things that you can only experience if you have flown with them. For example on my flight, I was in Economy Class and the night was upon us. Most of the passengers were fast asleep with their pillows stuck under their heads and blankets pulled up over their shoulders. I personally cannot sleep on a flight. There was a passenger on my left and a couple of rows down, whose blanket had dropped from his shoulders and onto the floor. One of the stewardesses...
