If you are a shopaholic, I am very sure that you will like Singapore city. There are a lot huge Shopping center there. But, be careful with your credit card. You might be over limit. Orchad Road is the most well know area in Singapore. There are a lot huge shopping center, food point and hotel. However, if you go for budget holiday, I can suggest you not to shop at orchad shopping center. ...I had the pleasure of travelling twice with them. Both of these were on their long haul flights from London to Singapore. The last of them was in February 2000. There are so many little things that sets this airline above the others. The main emphasis of Singapore Airlines has always been on service. Off course many airlines offer you good service but what about those little things that you can only experience if you have flown with them. For example on my flight, I was in Economy Class and the night was upon us. Most of the passengers were fast asleep with their pillows stuck under their heads and blankets pulled up over their shoulders. I personally cannot sleep on a flight. There was a passenger on my left and a couple of rows down, whose blanket had dropped from his shoulders and onto the floor. One of the stewardesses...

Personal History = The last time I flew with Singapore Airlines (SIA) was more than 10 years ago. On that fateful flight, the plane was delayed many hours, due to 'unforeseen technical problems'. They boarded , and unboarded (alighted) us many many times and did not even have the courtesy to provide the passengers with refreshments. Disadvantages: Not for the faint-hearted if you don't like the real world

...I did not mean to stay in a Hotel 81 hotel. I was planning to be in transit through Singapore at my own expense for a day or so.I tried three four-star special offers.The first two came back after about 12 hrs to inform me that their hotel was full on the dates in question. The third hotel was also full but offered me a hotel, Hotel 81 Geyland on Lorong 20, which they recommended for a cost of about £20 per night. Time was a bit tight ,but the photo looked OK on-line and the price was fantastic so I booked it and this is where I stayed, and stayed again on two further visits later in the year. This hotel is not for seekers of de-luxe accommodation. The rooms are completely basic and quite small. ...I flew Singapore Airlines, in economy, on the first two legs of a round the world trip with Star Alliance. They were without question the best two flights of the trip, and among the best flights I have ever taken (and I have been flying regularly since I was an infant). My route with SA was Manchester to Singapore, then after a four day stopover, Singapore to Auckland. I flew out on Thursday morning, which is the one day of the week when SA flies a Boeing 747 on this route (as opposed to a 777) and there is a stopover of about 90 minutes in Zurich, rather than the direct flight.
