...I've owned my Yamaha Pacifica for quite a few years now...and I'm still crap at playing it. Not that it's anything to do with the guitar, though. It's beyond reproach. Ah yes...a nice sunny day in 1999. I walk into Gamlins music store in Cardiff and a half hour later walk out with a Yamaha Pacifica and a Peavey amp for under two hundred groats. A very low price indeed. Not that the cheap price is an indication of poor quality. Not at all. I recently tried a friends Fender Stratocaster which he parted four hundred notes for. In my opinion my Yamaha was even better than the Strat, the only thing letting it down being the absence of a tremelo. But it had much better sustain and a greater versatility than the Fender. The Pacifica is set up with two single coil pick ups (which'll give it a Fender-style sound) and a twincoil pickup...

My first guitar

Advantages: balanced structure, quality sound for the price paid
Disadvantages: heavier than other guitars aimed at beginners

...Two Christmases ago, I ripped open a present to find a Yamaha Pacifica staring me in the face. I had wanted a guitar for sometime and this was to be my first. At the time the only guitars I knew of were the Les Pauls, Stratocasters and any guitar made by Fender, so I was a bit disppointed to be greeted with a Yamaha make. On first looks it has nothing special and looks extremely basic and gives an almost "text book" design feel,maybe even childish. However, knowing nothing of guitars i accepted my fate. Since then I have come to learn that this guitar was probably the best invitation for starting to learn guitar. And it didnt matter what the guitar looked liked, it was what the guitar sounded like. Advantages: An inexpensive, versatile guitar, apt for players of all levels

Fantastic value for money

Advantages: Ideal for all levels of playing
Disadvantages: Bridge could maybe have been better

...at the bridge gives good distortion and a nice crunchy sound, while the two single coils give wonderfully crisp clean sounds. you can play death metal, or blues with this guitar! its extremely versatile and suits all styles of music and playing. The tone control ranges from light and dry to deep and warm, and the 5 way selector switch lets you us either the humbucker, humbucker and middle, middle, middle and neck, or neck pickups. PLAYABILITY the neck of this guitar is fantastic, and hitting high notes is effortles. Harmonicsc come flying out with ease and bending is a walk in teh park. I love playing this guitar, as its so effortless. Dont get me wrong, it wont make you Jimi Hendrix if you cant already play, but it also provides a stable platform for a beginner to learn on. The strings are close to the neck which makes fast runs easily...

My little bundle of joy arrived through my letter box yesterday morning (the day after the release date) delivered from HMV.com with free delivery, totalling £26.99 (with student discount). In the box, you get the add-on part with the coloured buttons that you insert into the GameBoy Advance slot on your DS, a seperate attachement that you have to use if you are using an old style DS, a plectrum stylus, the game catridge, a game case, two sticker sheets and the instructions - though don't ask me what they say, I figured I would work everything out along the way. Rock out with Guitar Hero III, wirelessly.

Advantages: Enjoyable, Easy to learn, Play on multiple levels, hours of play time.
Disadvantages: That you must complete a certain level to acess some songs.

...Years ago my friend, Henri, introduced me to Guitar Hero and I was hooked. Unfortunatally I only had a PC so I had just admire Guitar Hero from afar. Then when my house bought a Wii I just new that I had to get Guitar Hero and I was even luckier because HMV was selling it for £35 compared to the original and expensive £70. I have also seen it in CEX (The second hand electronic store), but it was expensive there as well at £60. For my £35 pounds I got: 1x Wireless Guitar, 1X Wii Game Disc (Legends of rock), 1X sheet of stickers to personalise the guitar. "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" is a sequeal in the Guitar Hero (GH) series. Others include GH Metallica, GH ... The game disc is compatible with Guitar Hero Wii Guitars and so could be purchased separatly as just an addition to your GH collection. The best place to buy the game...
