The Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton

Advantages: great location, cheap, nice rooms, excellent food
Disadvantages: no parking, quite dated

...Introduction to the hotel: The Royal Albion Hotel was built in 1826 and is situated in a fantastic location opposite Brighton pier. It is a three star hotel and has 186 guest rooms offering views of Brighton beach or the town centre. My experience of the hotel: I spent one night in the hotel in January of this year and for a three star hotel I was quite impressed. I and my girlfriend booked a double room for £55 and it was a spacious room with a four poster bed, couch, satellite television, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely modern bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. When we checked in the hotel staff asked us if we would like to upgrade to a room with a Jacuzzi batch for £10, we said no, but were a bit intrigued to find one anyways - they had obviously given our room away and were trying to get the extra £10 out...

A solid Brighton Hotel

Advantages: Great views if you have a seafront room
Disadvantages: Bathroom a little lacking

...This was a good hotel to stay at if in Brighton but make sure you get a good deal because I don't think it's worth it at full price. It is not as glam as The Grand nor Metropole a few hundred yards up the street but does boast equally wonderful sea views. We were in room 201 and got a great deal staying the Sunday night only. The room had beautiful large bay windows overlooking the sea and remains of the destroyed pier. It was glorious to wake up to. The room itself was of a decent size although the bed was a little on the narrow side for the two of us. A few things to note on the downside: our room did have a big stain on the carpet and the bathrooms leave a little to be desired. They are very basic and the shower only reached a warm temperature while at full heat but never got hot. I think had we paid full price (which I...

Great base in Brighton

Advantages: Location, price
Disadvantages: Parking, needs updating

...We've just got back from a couple of nights stay at The Royal Albion in Brighton. We love going down to Brighton and had a long weekend off work together so thought we'd have a look to see if we could get a cheap couple of nights. We went on Travelsupermarket.com which showed us this hotel through lastminute.com at £86 for two nights (Sun & Mon) including breakfast and a free bottle of wine, and knowing it's location we booked straight away. My boyfriend had stayed here a few years ago so we knew we weren't going to be getting luxury, but as long as it's clean I'm happy. The hotel has 186 bedrooms from single rooms to family rooms, and mini-suites for business guests. It has smoking and non-smoking rooms and disabled friendly ones too. It is a regency style building and could look very grand but it needs a bit of a touch up...

Buzzing Brighton

Advantages: Central Location
Disadvantages: Better Hotels About

...Recently syaing in the Royal Albion hotel on business i found the hotel to be relatively okay. Arriving at the hotel, there is one problem that hits you, no parking, the nearest NCP is ten minutes walk away and cost £30 for three days and when you are lugging overnight gear and everything it is a bit of a trek. The hotel itself is very old fashioned however very clean too. The room was pleasant, however very dull as their was not much light as there was a small window in the downstairs area. The room had an upstairs section which was very bright, with living area and a larger television. Bathroom was nice, spa bath made it easy to relax whilst in the room, maids cleaned everyday and was relatively satisfactory. The bar area was spacious and easy to get served. Large windows overlooked the pier, but they did look like they...

Pricey hotel by the sea.

Advantages: Fabulous views, decor, function room, disabled facilities
Disadvantages: "Casual" staff, inconsistent drinks prices, cheap loo paper!

...Just returned from a weekend at the Seattle hotel in Brighton and feel Ishould share my views thoughts and comments on my stay there. Not only have I been I guest there but also attended a function in their function suite, performed there as an artist (at the function) and partaken in a few drinks in their residents bar, called the Black and White Bar. Here are my thoughts on the hotel and its service. Location. Wonderful marina side location with terrific views of the boats in the harbour. It is easily accessible by car and has an adjacent car park where you can park for free if a resident (use level 6 if a hotel resident). Surrounded by a variety of nightlife and restaurants, it is a great place to be in the evening. However it is about 2 miles from the town of Brighton itself. Staff. All very friendly and helpful, if...

Queens Brighton and Brighton Queens

Advantages: Seafront Location, Extremely Well Priced
Disadvantages: Refurb Work Being Done, Overly Warm, No Internet Access

...So, I'm sat here having been tasked with performing a full hardware audit at our parent company's various sites spread throughout the UK. Oh the exciting life I lead! The Brighton office is one of the larger ones and as such, required an overnight stay in the seaside resort of Brighton. So, preamble over, I checked into the hotel having spent pretty much a whole day on the train to get down there. Greeted by an almost entirely eastern European staff, my suspicions were raised. Previous experience has suggested that budget, mediocre hotels are often run poorly by eastern Europeans. I only paid £59 for my bed and breakfast stay at the hotel. In any case, check in was smooth and I was given my big old fashioned key to my room and told that it was on the third floor down a miriad of corridors. I was shocked to say the least...

Not a high Quality Hotel

Advantages: Great location, great breakfast
Disadvantages: Needs a refurb in bedroom areas - urgently!

...budget, and although not the cheapest, I went purely for location itself knowing that it was just a few minutes walk to most areas of Brighton. On the wall of reception it stated that a single room is £190 and a double £210 per night, don?t worry I never paid anything near that. If you look around then there are sizable discounts to receive. I paid a total of £224 for two nights sharing a Twin room. The Internet stated that was a 57% saving on the original price. I booked through the Hotels own website and still saved money. The response is quick and you can confirm on-line with regards to availability so there is no pending confirmation or having to wait 72 hours to confirm. Payment is not taken on line as the card will hold the room, payment is only taken on arrival when the credit/ debit card is swiped. ---Other guests? This is...

Review of Quality Hotel, Brighton

Right-On Hotel in Brighton.

Advantages: Excellent 4 star hotel banging on the door of 5 star status
Disadvantages: Not really worth mentioning.

...wife, Amanda, and baby Josh accompanied me. And the Hilton Brighton Metropole is anything but seedy. Far from it, in fact! I thus feel somewhat ill-equipped to give you the full picture, but I?ll do my best anyway. There?s a veritable plethora of hotels in Brighton, including some pretty seedy ones ? and there are two Hiltons ? the Metropole and the West Pier. We selected the Metropole and were far from disappointed. In fact, we were extremely satisfied. It?s a large, redbrick building on the seafront with commanding views of the English Channel. Unless, of course, you?re French, in which case you?ll be enjoying views of La Manche. Same water, but different name! We?d booked on-line through hilton.com and had managed to secure an extremely favourable rate of UKP 50.00 for the night ? or about USD 80.00. This compared really well...

Brighton Rocks in The Lanes

Advantages: great location, friendly & knowledgable
Disadvantages: car parking & breakfast!!

...viewed as expensive. However, the food available was extensive and unlimited. Great if you eat cooked breakfasts, cereal and fruit all in one go - but if like me you have toast, a tad on the expensive side!! However, within 5 minute walk of this lovely hotel are numerous restaurants to suit all budgets and taste buds!!! (Italian, Japanese, fast food, New Orleans, Seafood, Steak houses, Chinese, Indian, Portuguese - to name but a few!!) ADVANTAGES A quick summary: • Excellent location to The Lanes, restaurants and amenities • Sea front position • Helpful & friendly staff • Comfortable rooms • Residents bar • Open plan design of restaurant, bar and lounge area • Reasonable price for a Brighton sea front hotel in prime locality. NEGATIVES • Parking costs huge!!!!! - £15 per day...

Hotel Dusk - Room 215

Advantages: Able to waste your time without noticing
Disadvantages: Very poor game play

...I bought this game, as I had read numerous reviews about it, and it sounded really exciting . But how was I disappointed. The game play is slow, if not a bit slower. Or I felt that I was doing was clicking on the screen, and reading some text. Every now and then I would be given a question to ask, by tapping on the question. The highlight of the game was some mini games which actually gave you somehting to do, other than this, there was plenty of text to read, to follow a story, and tapping the screen in the bottom right, to show the next bit of text. The text would lead you to where in the building you should go to next, and if you should not go in a particular room then the door would be locked. There were times when by asking the wrong question, you can loose the game, but what I found was that after I had a long...
