WE GOT THE STYLE

Advantages: Affordable, digital, good memory and resolution for the price.
Disadvantages: CD was no good with me.

...Having been ?in the market? so to speak for a reasonably cheap digital camera for a while I stumbled upon this little gem via a single review I read on Ciao, and from advice by the helpful people in Gadget Shop, Milton Keynes. I?d seen many reviews on the L?espion, and had been tempted on numerous occasions to pick one up, as I?d seen it for sale so often in Virgin Megastore, Tesco and other shops I frequent now and then. My requirements were simple. I wanted a cheap, easy to carry digital camera, which will take the odd snap for me, primarily to be emailed or used on-line. (e.g. Ebay auctions) We often take our normal 35mm camera on holiday, but rarely ever use even one film in a fortnight, so to spend £200 on a camera for selling a cd or two on Ebay could hardly be justified! The Sipix Stylecam Blink resides at the bottom...

Diamond review  BLINK and you'll miss it

Advantages: Small, light weight, cheap, fun to use.
Disadvantages: Not brilliant quality pictures compared to proper digital cameras. Time delay due to focus.

...! Thank you for reading this far, I?m sorry it was such a long and detailed opinion, I hope it has been useful. I don?t claim to know a great deal about digital cameras, this camera is not a professional camera, the images are not like what you would expect from an expensive camera, but for £40 you get a small, cheap camera/combined webcam/short video camera, plenty of software, a stand and USB cable. It is ideal for my needs, possibly yours too, I hope this review has given you a better idea of the product. It doesn't have a flash and is only 0.3 Mega Pixels (don't laugh!), but let the serious camera users spend large sums of money to buy an amazing camera, for me the instant, cheap SiPix Blink StyleCam is perfect. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment or entry in my Guest Book. © Peter Farrell 2002...

Ideal Digital Camera for the beginner

Advantages: good little photos
Disadvantages: batteries run out quick

...I have been meaning to write this for a few weeks and I could not find it in here and just recently I saw an opinion and found the category and here is my first attempt at technology writing. This is a guide on our experiences of our little camera. My little Sipix style camera was bought at Currys for £40 earlier on this year. It is available at most electrical outlets and also on the internet. Now I really wanted to buy a super digital camera but was wary about all the money they were asking for it, so I suggested to my husband that we buy a little one and a cheap one first. That way if we were not impressed we have only wasted £40 compared to £300. The Packaging A Blue small box with customer service details on and the picture and functions of the camera. I have not got a lot more to say on this as it is a very...

Nice little camera oppressed by nasty software

Advantages: Small, Easy to use, Movie mode is surprisingly good, Only costs between £30 & £40
Disadvantages: Unstable software, Memory depends on battery life, Battery cover comes loose first chance it gets

...little snaps and even a movie clip or three. After 5 minutes taking pictures of all the things I could without moving I decided to download them onto the PC, a process I have been through hundreds of times with my Nikon Coolpix. It was here the problems started. The software seemed to install happily as it reported no errors BUT when I plugged in the camera the software did not provide me with the option to download the images where the manual implied it should. After much fiddling I visited the SiPix website where it appeared there was a known problem causing similar symptoms to my own. I downloaded new drivers and followed the instructions, one of which was to blank the camera, grrrrr. Although it does say that the camera should be empty the first time it’s connected, I certainly didn’t see this when I first looked...

Fits in the palm of your hand

Advantages: Cheap, lightweight and compact
Disadvantages: Difficult controls to use, small LCD display

...on with the auction and offered some really good packages, then he went on to offer 3 blind auctions where we all expected to get these great items as the previous ones were designed to make us believe. You had the choice of paying £50, £100 or £200. I chose to pay £100 as that was all I could afford as I was holding out for an ipod. So the guy collects your money then we had a break as the saleroom was getting quite stuffy, we then went back in and the goods were handed out for the previous auctions. Once everyone got theirs it now time to give out the goods for the last 3 auctions. I do not recall what the items were for the £50 and £200 lots, but I got this SiPix Style Cam. I cannot describe the feeling I had as I had just been ripped off and there was nothing I could do about it. I was not the only one, everyone else who got one of these was...

Review of SiPix StyleCam DV100

A fun toy but that's about all.

Advantages: Small, light, fun to mess around with.
Disadvantages: Eats up batteries fast and takes poor quality photos.

...I bought this camera when they first came on the market. At the time I couldn't afford a decent digital camera and this seemed like a cheap alternative at £39.99. Unfortunately you really do only get what you pay for. The camera works well in bright sunlight and takes half decent pictures, although not amazing quality. But in any other light it is no use to anyone. The pictures go grainy and dark, there is no flash so it simply doesn't work. You'd be better off buying a disposable camera instead. The camera takes a single AAA battery and eats up the power very quickly. You will go through an awful lot of batteries and if you use the camera a lot, the amount you spend on batteries would be better spent on a slightly more expensive camera. The Sipix Blink doubles up as a webcam which can be fun, but again this only works in...

Strike a Light

Advantages: Versatile, cheap and a handy standby camera
Disadvantages: Software is a bit limited

...This dinky device is barely bigger than a matchbox, slips into the pocket of all but the tightest trousers and means you can be ready within seconds to be snap happy. In addition, you can even turn it into a mini video camera or perch it on top of your computer for use as a webcam. The picture quality isn't great at the maximum resolution of 640x480 but the end results aren't that bad. This is especially when you take into account the fact that the camera costs only £40. The StyleCam comes with 8Mb built-in memory and offers 24-bit colour. Also, up to 100 high resolution or 300 low resolution images can be stored. The file format is JPEG and it uses a single AAA battery. The images are easy to transfer to your computer through the Universal Serial Bus interface and the supplied cable. You also get a couple of accessories...
