Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Sheen & Spacek Rule

...Sheen and Caril Fugate is played by Sissy Spacek. Their performances are spellbinding. Young they may have been, but there is a maturity and understanding in their acting that I've rarely seen elsewhere. This is backed up sublimely by the artistic settings and locations that they used for filming, and it all gels together magically. Badlands is a widely rated movie that still seems to hover round Cult level, which is bizarre as it gets played often enough. Well worth seeing if you spot it on your schedules. In fact, tape it and watch it again another time. This is a film that ages well and will stand the test of multiple viewings....

Punk rock for sissys

..."Punk rock for sissys" probably isn’t the best way of billing yourself but then Ben Folds Five aren’t or should I say weren’t a typical band, they split up in November 2000. For a start they had no guitars, no guitars say it aint so!! Just a piano, bass and drums were enough to give the trio their distinctive sound, which quite frankly rocks out just as much as any rock band, we’re not talking Megadeth but they do sound pretty solid when they want to. Oh and they were a trio, Ben Folds Five had a better ring to it than the Ben Folds Trio. “in this time of introspection on the eve of my election I say to my reflection god, please spare me more rejection 'cause my peers, they criticize me and my ex-wives all despise me try to put it all behind me but my redneck past is nipping at my heels...

We were proposed a week stay all-inclusive at the Sissi Bay hotel in Sissi in Crete at a good price (for the season!) and decided to go for it. Now call me tight (no that wasn?t an invite), but I like bargains and freebies and am not ashamed to say so. My quest took me to enough sites to hire DVDs for about four months so far (with plenty to come too). My latest free DVD site also happens to be the best I have tried for several reasons (see rest of op); the site in question is Blockbuster.co.uk. Other sites that I have had free rentals from and then cancelled have all been similar, two weeks free trial with two DVD?s per time ? which in effect gives you about four free DVD?s. ...Before I bought this DVD player Id never really owned a DVD player before. I had however had and still do have a ps2 on which I used to play my DVDs. I never really went and still don’t go on this so much so I was going to sell it and buy a DVD player. In the end I decided to just keep the ps2 and to get a cheaper DVD player than I was looking for in the first place. The main reason why I wanted a new DVD instead of the one in the ps2 was so I could play divx format DVDs on it. The DVD player in a ps2 doesn’t recognise this format and scene as I have several divx movies already on disk and on my laptop to put onto disk then I wanted a DVD player that would recognise and play this format. Another plus to this format is that it saves space on disks as it compresses movies into smaller file sizes without compromising...
