"Six" is vastly different....and all the better for it!

Advantages: 1 of the most original alt rock/indie/brit pop albums ever recorded! Intelligent lyrics! Catchy!!!
Disadvantages: possibly most radio-unfriendly album ever made,though not necessarily a bad thing whatsoever, IMO.

...From the strikingly lingering, indisputably foot-tapping opening riff of "Six" through to the wonderfully subdued dimuendo at the climax of "Being A Girl", that follows a pounding, insistent bridge line vocal which I found somewhat reminiscent of MSP owing to Paul's falsetto on the track combined with his chanting of the lyric "the only pureness left is preached to me by Marx", Mansun have produced an album oozing with, in my opinion - and that of a large cult following which can be clearly seen on lead singer, Paul Draper's website http://www.pauldraper.info/ - an unrivalled level of creativity and orignality which is quite simply, ..mesmerizing. I feel it would be verging on blasphemous to highlight any particular tracks as obvious 'stand outs' while omitting others, as there are really no weak moments on this album. Saying that...

Six Sacred Stones - Six wasted hours

Advantages: A good laugh - preposterous action and action hero
Disadvantages: The time invested

...First introduced to us in Matthew Reillys' Seven Ancient Wonders", the Rambo/James Bond/Indiana Jones based super- soldier Jack West returns along with the his always ready team of adventurers. But this time, they are confronted by an impossible (yawn.......) challenge. A mysterious ceremony has set off a catastrophic countdown, the climax of which being the end of all life on Earth (at least James Bonds' enemies simply want to rule the world!!). However, as you may guessed, there is one last hope - Jack West. Because, if Jack and his team can trace, understand and rebuild (with one eye on the rapidly ticking countdown clock complete with big, red numbers) a legendary ancient device known only as the "Machine" (so, how many points for originality here then folks??), they might just be able to prevent the impending Armageddon...

Six to one against - who or what?

Advantages: fast pace that keeps you guessing

...I bought this book new, full price for £11.99. I was looking forward to reading a new Lyndon Stacey as the other books i had read were very good and this one does not disappoint. The characters include a welcome return of Gideon Blake, an animal behaviourist and part-time artist. The murder victim is Damien, which is related on the first couple of pages so giving nothing away here about the plot. Damien was a horse trainer and he had asked Damien for help with a difficult horse. Damien leaves a grieving widow, a young son and a sister. He also leaves his parents behind. The plot thickens.. Damien's younger brother had already died of an alleged suicide some years before. On the home side, Gideon lives on the estate of his friends Giles and Pippa. He has a girlfriend but it is a rather casual relationship spending the night...

Six Of The Best

Advantages: superbly written, impeccably acted
Disadvantages: none

...-point for each episode. Some of these are funny (the man sliced by the bread mixer springing to mind), whilst others are tragic (Gabe's 6 year old brother shooting himself). Although on the surface the centrepiece of 'Six Feet Under' appears to be death and grief, it is in fact the twists and turns of each character's very different personal lives that makes the programme what it is. Series two continued where the first one left off, with the same quality storylines and even more development of the characters. Only shown in the UK so far on E4, it sees Ruth go on a journey of self-exploration as well as exploring her relationship with Nikolai. Nate and Brenda become even more intense and gives rise to some of the best scenes seen in either series, whilst David and Keith also embark on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. This is six feet over and above anything I've seen!

Advantages: The storylines and the acting
Disadvantages: Could be too deep for some

...Andrew and I have just started watching this from start to finish and although I have seen it all before, I am blown away by how amazing this series is. The series follows a family who live and work in a funeral home. One day the dad tragically dies and the rest of the family are left behind to deal with the strange and wonderful happenings that go on there. At the start of each episode you see a random person die and the that particular hour is based very loosely on that dead person. Without sounding too morbid, I love this part. I find that I always look forward to seeing who it is and how they die. Some of the ways that the people do go are a little strange but they are never unbelievable to the point where you think 'Well that's never going to happen'. Lickety Splitx Lix makes Six..!

Advantages: Lyrical, flowing, sparse, understated writing.
Disadvantages: The plot rather detracts from the work!

Six Feet Under Season Five Review.

Advantages: One of the greatest tv shows ever created, gripping, briliantly written, can't get much better.
Disadvantages: There honestly is nothing or very little wrong with this show/season.

...No matter how many adjectives you pile upon this show, there simply aren't enough words to describe the incredible talents of everyone involved in creating a show that should be the bench mark for fellow TV shows and aspiring writers or directors for the future. These may be bold and strong words but Six Feet Under putting it simply, is one of, if not the best TV Show ever created. This is the fifth and final series of HBO's dark and disturbing drama set in a funeral home and is quite possibly the best of the lot. Season five ties up all the lose ends in what has been an emotional roller coaster for not only the characters but for the viewers too, keeping us both glued to the screen and dreading the end which inevitably is heading our way. Danger! Electric Six! Fire!

Advantages: Catchy songs, plenty of big loud hits.
Disadvantages: A few weak links, can become a novelty soon.

...Electric Six have always been known for their singles 'Gay Bar' and 'Danger, High Voltage'. These were both huge hits here in the UK, both peaking in the top ten. These singles were probably recognised for their great wit and, probably most noticably, the videos that came with them. Everyone remembers for the video for 'Gay Bar' because of the depiction of former president Abraham Lincoln, which I thought was genius. But there is more to this album then one may expect. I bought this album not knowing what I was going to get, but when I first stuck this in my CD player I was 'blown' away.
