"Six" is vastly different....and all the better for it!

Advantages: 1 of the most original alt rock/indie/brit pop albums ever recorded! Intelligent lyrics! Catchy!!!
Disadvantages: possibly most radio-unfriendly album ever made,though not necessarily a bad thing whatsoever, IMO.

...From the strikingly lingering, indisputably foot-tapping opening riff of "Six" through to the wonderfully subdued dimuendo at the climax of "Being A Girl", that follows a pounding, insistent bridge line vocal which I found somewhat reminiscent of MSP owing to Paul's falsetto on the track combined with his chanting of the lyric "the only pureness left is preached to me by Marx", Mansun have produced an album oozing with, in my opinion - and that of a large cult following which can be clearly seen on lead singer, Paul Draper's website http://www.pauldraper.info/ - an unrivalled level of creativity and orignality which is quite simply, ..mesmerizing. I feel it would be verging on blasphemous to highlight any particular tracks as obvious 'stand outs' while omitting others, as there are really no weak moments on this album. Saying that...

Six star service from a 4 star hotel.

Advantages: Close to all the sites and sounds of Venice.
Disadvantages: It is a bit on the expensive side.

It is situated on the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge and has spectacular views of the bridge from the balcony. The hotel is part of a 15th century palace which has been lovingly restored by its current owner to its former glory. Each room is individually decorated in Louis XV period style elegance to a very high standard. There are only 9 rooms in the hotel which means that service is very personal and informal. The rooms contain the usual facilities such as minibar, Wi-Fi access, although we did not use it on this occasion, direct dial telephone, flat screen television and a superb bathroom with bidet and a multipoint shower. Six Sacred Stones - Six wasted hours

Advantages: A good laugh - preposterous action and action hero

Lickety Splitx Lix makes Six..!

Advantages: Lyrical, flowing, sparse, understated writing.
Disadvantages: The plot rather detracts from the work!

...what Crace was trying to do with this novel. The publicly atheist writer would find humour in the cheeky and conceited ?Genesis? title, particularly given his lack of religious views. ..."Stars" by Simply Red is quite simply one of the best albums in UK history. When "Something Got Me Started" was released in 1991, nobody could have guessed that the forthcoming album "Stars" was going to be so huge. It almost feels like a greatest hits collection in itself - even the album tracks seem to be played endlessly in shops - and it's hard to remember a time before it was released in some ways. Mick Hucknall went for an image change - check out the long hair on the front cover - and the album had a very poppy feel that grabbed the attention of non-fans and reaffirmed the devotion of Simply Red's more zealous followers. It's probably the last time Mick's work had a "band" feel to it and it's all the better for it. It was the biggest album between 1992 and 1993 and deservedly so. Advantages: Well thought out story

...seemed very surprised and gave me a funny look when I told her it was for me that worried me for a start. The story was interesting because firstly it centred on the lives of three very different contrasting characters that, only shared a wonderful talent. It was fascinating to see what happened to them as the novel went chronologically through all the highs and lows of their lives, all the main developments that went to make them all Rock Stars. Yes in some ways it was shallow, the way these fortunate people enjoyed such a lavish lifestyle. Full of beautiful young men and women who?s only leisure time pursuit seemed to be having sex. Luckily these scenes were not too graphic in the author?s descriptions of them; instead she left quite a bit of it to your own imagination which was fine by me. Each issue , there is an interview with a celeb , this month it's Big Brother star Nikki Grahame , there are asked questions such as 'what was your last act of kindness' at at the end of the interview the magazine decides whether that star is a saint or a sinner! A good read! The next seven pages were based on fashion ; I'm not really into fashion , but I was still entertained by this feature. It was also good that the items featured were available at affordable prices! I've now arrived at the 'magazine' called 'Hollywood Star' which is the magazine inside the main magazine.
