...Since the time I was born I have had very dry skin; as a child I used Hydrocortisone cream which only ever soothed the itching and flaking for a while and then caused the dryness to flare up again, with the added bonus of making my skin hyper sensitive. It wasn't until I became an image obsessed, self absorbed, love hungry teenager that it actually began to bother me (turning up to high school with dry skin peeling off your face is not the ticket to popularity, apparently). Along with super dryness I also managed to get the few spots, which eventually turned into more than a few spots... So being a thoroughly neurotic male I took my money to the nearest Beatties, looked for the cosmetic station with the prettiest assistant and got a free 'Clinique consultation'.... and I have been using their products ever since. A crash course in skincare

...This is just one of the many fresh face masks which Lush sell. The face mask retails at £6.45 on the website (lush.co.uk), however I think they retail at around £5 in store. The fresh face masks all tend to have a sell by date of approximately a month after purchase; it is always worth checking the sell by date before you buy in order to ensure you are getting the best value. The sell by date is so short because the face masks contain fresh ingredients which go bad. The mask also needs to be kept in the fridge in order to preserve the ingredients. The fresh ingredients in this facemask are avocado, natural yoghurt and and lemon juice. The yoghurt soothes and cools the skin, in fact the cooling sensation is very apparant when the mask is on the face. Pure and simple skincare

Advantages: Simple, great smell, many uses

SMELL AND TEXTURE HEAVENLY is the only word really. The smell is hard to descibe except it is a wonderful lotiony creamy smell that goes with the gorgeous creamy texture of the pure white cream. It is quite heavy so maybe not recommended for oily skin as it goes on quite thick and can be a little greasy if you use too much, but it feels smooth and is absorbed well on the body. It is a little slow to absorb on the skin on the face and you can be left with a slightly oily film, but once absorbed my skin feels so incredibly smooth and nice. ...A couple of months ago I ordered myself a set of SBC gels from QVC. Of all the gels in the set one that I was most looking forward to trying was the collagen gel. SBC stands for simply beautiful cosmetics, and they are not really a very well known company - in fact they started as a salon brand and have not been available for sale to the general public for very long. I have only ever seen them on QVC, and the presenters made them sound good (as I suppose they would!) and I decided to give them a try. The collagen gel is a bright pink colour and comes in a clear bottle with a pump dispenser. The bottles looked quite cheap on the TV however once I received them they didn't look so bad and they are made of fairly sturdy plastic. Skin care routine.

Advantages: Quick and easy.
Disadvantages: Don`t last as long as cleanser.

...I try to follow a good skin care routine and cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning. I did this for a short while in the evening aswell. It is suprising how much dirt you remove from your face in the evening than the morning, obvious really, but there still seems to be less in the morning, even if you haven`t cleansed the previous evening. Where does it all go? Absorbed into your skin I suppose, which is one of the reasons I guess why cleansing is recommended twice a day. SBC is a brand developed for salons and as far as I know the only places that it can be purchsed outside of salons are through their web-site and on QVC . You can also find it on Ebay, (which is where I bought mine).It costs around £20 for 500 ml Collagen gel has been designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and to help hydrate the skin. It is a water based gel formulation which comes in a pump dispenser or a tube. The packaging whilst not really fancy is fit for purpose and in my opinion did not look particularly cheap. The gel is pink and has a really clean fragrence. As it is a gel it is very cool on application and spreads quite well, though I have to say, I am going through it pretty fast as I use it from head to toe. I bought this at Tesco, having read several "good" things about the Skin Wisdom range, and because products from Tesco tend to be quite good.
