...If you are thinking of going to Auckland then visiting the Sky Tower is a must do! It is not that expensive to go up and once you are up the tower the views are amazing. You go up in an elevator, and when you get to the top you enter the main circular observatory tower which has massive glass windows all the way around giving you a 360 degrees view of Auckland, some of the best views are of the world famous harbour and Mount Eden, a dormant volcano. If you are the dare-devil type then you can do the sky jump, by leaping of the tower and falling 192m with a 16 second free fall, and reaching speeds of 75kph. ...My husband and I stayed three nights at sky tower in Auckland, New Zealand in 2005. The Sky Tower is 328 metres and the tallest building in the southern hemisphere. The hotel is huge but all the staff were very friendly, when I needed to contact my family by emails and was unable to get the hang of the computer, a young lad from the front desk came to help me do it. The internet was free to hotel guests and was widely used by most of our party. To get to our room we went up in the lift on our arrival but the lift stopped at a much lower floor and wouldn't move. When we all trooped back to the front desk where we told that we had to insert our room card in a slot in the lift to access our floors, only guests were thus able to go near the rooms. Advantages: lots to do, beautiful, undeniably worth seeing

...I live in NZ and i've been to the sky tower countless times and i never get tired of it. you get a beautiful view of auckland city, you can dine in the rotating resteraunt and get a full view of everything surrounding the tower. you can choose to bungy jump of the tower or take a picture where they make it LOOK like you are bungy jumping off. there are a wide range of souvenirs you can buy and the tower itself is beautiful and truly worth seeing. there is casino and a bar. at the top there are glass floors you can stand on so that you can see everything beneath you (some people are too scared to stand on those). personally, i love the elevator, it' s very fast and you get a full view of what's outside the tower. the sky tower is definitely worth visiting and the people in New Zealand are very friendly!...

Auckland City

Advantages: Great place to see views of city
Disadvantages: It is a city and New Zealand is so much more beautiful to go rural

...do the Sky Tower jump, the first person to put their hand up gets to do it for free so make sure you are quick of the mark. They then drive you up and down the city streets pointing out great places to eat and go in the evening. The next stop was Auckland Harbor Bridge; this was the best part of the tour as you get to walk on the bridge for free!!! It was a bit scary as it was very windy the day we went but well worth it! We then stopped for lunch at an old pub which was really nice, after lunch we drove up the windy path to Mount Eden which is dormant volcano, this makes for great views and brilliant photos. Getting Around: Auckland has a great tram system in place making it very easy to get around; they have a free city circle line that will take you to all the main sights in the city which great as a tourist. ...75 kph. scary! The lobby of the hotel then, is really like an adventure centre entrance and not the nice swanky hotel we were hoping for after our long flight. Its hectic - but if thats what your after - its perfect. The hotel is centrally located in Auckland, and you can walk around the town to anything you want to see easily. The room itself was basic, but clean and tidy, but it just had this awful stench of sort of stale, mould and ashtrays in the room and the corridors and lifts which made me puke all the time. Well, OK I was suffering badly from morning sickness but the smell wasnt helping. We checked out the casino - not a patch in vegas - but then you woudlnt expect it to be! The restaurants all looked good, we had a snack in the casino restuarant - definately would not advise anyone to do that, tasteless...

...For a long time I refused to get Sky+ because I said we'd never use it. After giving in to pressure and having it installed I cant believe we ever managed without it. There are very few programmes I watch 'live' anymore. The Sky + box comes with a hard drive that will store approximately 40 hours of TV, which is more than enough for most people, you would need to be an exteme TV watcher to fill the drive, or be the type of person who saves programmes to watch over again. The best feature of the Sky+ is the ability to pause live TV, very handy if the phone rings or someone comes to the door. You can also rewind live TV, so if you miss what someone has said you can rewind to hear it again. The Sky+ box has parental controls, so all adult channels can be blocked and a PIN number can be set so children cant watch films that are too...

...First of all I would like to clarify that I am not a TV addict however I couldn't live without my sky plus box. It has become an everyday essential to my family & I & is in constant use in our household. It's the best thing since sliced bread! I personally love sky+ & don't think I've come across anyone who doesn't. It's easy to use, practical & fast. I haven't encountered any problems with the box so far however when I had an issue with my bill I phoned the sky+ helpline at 1am & they were happy to help giving friendly efficient advice & immediately solved the problem. I have nothing but praise for sky & would recommend it to anyone. It can be a bit expensive but for all the services it offers I think it is definitely worth paying a bit more & knocks all of the competition straight out of the park. I have had sky for years now...

...once and it worked fine, but I don't like my planner being crowded by reminders and future records so I don't really use it. *****Anytime TV***** When I first got Sky+ I was thinking about turning off the Anytime TV option (can be done by going through the settings menu). Afterall I knew what I wanted to watch and would just record it if I had to. However, I decided not to turn it off and was pleasantly surprised. There is quite a variety of good shows put on here each week that I would have missed. The downpoint to Anytime TV is that when it's updating (downloading the shows to your box) it can be a little noisey. I'm not that bothered by it, but ti could annoy some people. *****Layout/Looks***** Personally I don't really like the look of the box on the outside. It's quite plain and doesn't have anything that stands out...

...I was desperate for Sky tv in our old flat, but Sky couldnt fit us with a dish without planning permission, which the council wouldnt give, so just 3 days after moving into our new house, I was on the phone to Sky to order my Sky+ tv package.
