Top Sledge

Disadvantages: Short rope and quite thin

...I bought this great little snow sledge for the little lad and me and his mum last year. I managed to get it for £8 online. The one we have is in bright red (not blue as per the Ciao! Picture) and it has a red rope for pulling. The rope is perhaps a little bit on the thin side and a bit short so next time we use it (if we get snow again this year) I think I shall be changing the rope as it can hurt if you are pulling it over long distances, even with gloves on, it bites into the skin a bit. The sledge appears to be long lasting and it is made of good quality plastic (polyethylene) and I t is 36? x 9? and fairly deep. It is an ideal size for our little lad as he tucks his rear end into the dipped bit at the back. I am able to sit on it too as I have slid down many snowy banks during last year?s deep snowfalls. Sledge Hammer

Advantages: Briliant hammer which handles well and inexpensive, high quality
Disadvantages: Nothing at all

...I borrowed a very good all purpose hammer from my brother in law when I was taking down the back wall last year. I needed something that was going to be strong enough to knock down the brickwork which has been up for years as I was replacing the dwarf wall with a five foot replacement wall for more privacy in our rear garden. My brother in law loaned me his Faithfull Hickory Sledge Hammer. He has had it for a long time and I understand he was given it by his late father so it?s been around for a while. The hammer is a good strong and sturdy tool which fitted the bill perfectly and made light of my work with the garden wall. Review of Faithfull Hickory Sledge Hammer

snowmen and sledging

Advantages: cheap and good quality
Disadvantages: needs snow!

...It is always the case that when it snows and you want a sledge everywhere is sold out, but when you buy one in anticipation, it doesn?t even snow! We bought this sledge for my niece and we seemed to wait ages until it finally snowed and it wasn?t that great of a covering! The sledge will do for next year though so not a big problem. I love sledging, when I was at university my friends and I bought one of those rubbish seat sledges and had fun on those but they do not compare to proper sledges. This one is a really good buy and will last you a long time so I can highly recommend it. Price and availability The cost of one of these sledges is around £7.99 which is quite reasonable really.
